Hi y’all, I’m Lily, back here to present a new edition of Archanea Monthly to everyone! We’re so glad to have you readers, both new and returning! Anna and I have been slaving away to get this one out just in time for FEE3, so we hope you love it!
Apologies for the late issue this month. It was meant to come out closer to mid-October, but I fell ill because of bulimia (I can’t recommend it, kids) and had to rest for a little over a week. We fell behind despite Anna’s best efforts, and we can’t apologize enough for developers who might have been anticipating seeing their hacks in this month’s issue. Rest assured, we’re arranging for you to be featured in the future though. We didn’t forget!
We’ve got some great ones in this October Issue! Dark Stone as the headline hack and tons of interviews, including one from the Dream of Five Devs! Don’t forget about our guide to the default options to Vesly’s new reclassing patch too! Dive on in and see what we’ve got in store and share it with all your friends!
Editor’s Note: The Maiden of Darkness dev is named Onmi, not Omni.

Hey everybody, my name is Lily, I’m here, proud to present Archanea Monthly: the magazine that reports on all things related to Fire Emblem romhacking! I’ve been working with Anna here in the Emblem Nexus to hop to as many universes as possible and report on what we find! Anna said if this first issue sells well, she’ll even spare money for more coffee and a real bed!
We’ve been working the better part of a month to push this out, and talked with a lot of creators to present everything in this issue with interviews, translation clarifications, and asset permission/credits. If you think it’s cool, wanna see another one, or have your own ideas or suggestions for next time, leave a comment and speak your mind! You can also message me to let us know if you wanna have your own work featured, or if you want to write/put together something to go in next month’s issue, and I’ll pass the proposal on to Anna to approve. This first one is a bit armature-ish, but nothing starts perfect, right?
This September Issue, we were proud to get a ton of cool stuff for our first issue! Our main talking point is decidedly the hack Hetja’s Quest, and afterwards we’ll talk about some budding hacks, newly translated details about characters from The Nameless Heroes, some FEE3 anticipations, and a couple of cool people from our community! Go on and dive in, tell us what you think, and share with your friends!

Want to Submit?
Want to see one of your own projects spotlit? Or maybe you want to promote an update to it that came out recently? Or perhaps you’ve made some art, writing, code or tools that you wanna show off in the magazine? Well, I’ve streamlined the process of sending in all the info we would need with one form!
What can you submit? Romhacks, FE-style games, and indie titles, from just the planning and conceptual phase to fully complete, art/writing/music/code/tool promotions or showcases, or anything else that would fit that I can’t think about right now. You can submit updates to your hack if it’s been featured in Archanea Monthly before, but I ask that they be significant in content, or that it’s been a significant amount of time since it was last featured.
Regarding those who want to help
If you ever want to contribute something to the magazine, I’ll gladly take help, but this is all purely volunteer work, and nobody is ever getting paid for any of this. Archanea Monthly is purely driven by a passion for the community and will always stay that way. That being said, there’s a couple things like page designers and article editors that I don’t really have a need for because I just prefer handling those things myself.
What volunteer work is available:
- Writers (Doesn’t have to be monthly or one time)
- Stock Artist
What volunteer work is NOT available:
- Page Designers
- Article Editors
If you do have any questions or proposals on something you wanna write, feel free to reach out to me! If you contact me as a writer, please at least have an idea on what you want to write, if not something to show for it already!
And of course, I won’t be offended if you approach me asking to have your hack in the magazine. I can’t promise any spots, but if I happen to have a slot open, you might have a chance!
FAQ
Q: “Will I still be able to read previous issues when new ones are posted?”
A: Yes! Whenever I post a new issue, I’ll take the previous post and put it in a small tab at the bottom to preserve the magazine, art/project links, and post!
Q: “Can I ask you to feature my own hack/project in the magazine?”
A: You can, but I wouldn’t be able to guarantee a spot. Frankly, a lot of it depends how much work I’ve already done, if I’ll have time to do it, and if I want to take time to edit all the page numbers if I am far in. The farther after a new release you ask, probably the less likely.
