Hi, I have a question. I’ve played all three Fire Emblem games for the GBA.
I heard there are SNES and NES ports that you can play on the GBA, and also some demakes.
I want to try all the mods, but before that, I want to play the original games that were ported or remade for the GBA.
After that, I’d like to try the demakes, and then the full hack ROMs made by fans.
So I’m looking for a guide and links to all completed projects — including original game ports from SNES or NES to GBA, any demakes, and if they’re fully playable.

I have experience with IPS files and patching, but after reading a bit, I see that I need a specific ROM to apply the patch.
So when you say “FE7,” do I need the Japanese version or the original English version, for example?

Alr so theres is a engage demake project and the people made a path of radiance and radiant dawn demake and someone else made a shadows of valentia demake and i think i seen a awakening demake

Usually people use the english version and if they do not they have something to which version you should use

Thracia 776AD is still incomplete as of now. But its neat still

I would recommend playing the original versions of these games first, with a translation patch if necessary. But if you want to play them on a GBA specifically, then here’s a list. In some cases, multiple projects exist: I’ve listed all of them for completion’s sake, and in some cases to show what could have been or things that may be worth keeping an eye on.

FE1/11: Dark Dragon Reborn (complete), FE1 Faithful Remaster (complete), Archanea Reimagined (complete), FE1+2 (complete in theory, in Japanese), GFE1R (cancelled, though the buildfile is around).

FE2/15: Sacred Echoes (complete).

FE3/12: FE3GBA (cancelled, up to Ch5).

FE4: FE4 Advance (cancelled, not sure if it ever got a release), FE Forever (cancelled, covered ~Ch6 and 7?, download is broken and hack likely lost), Inheritors of the Crusade (WIP, up to FE4 Ch2), Jugdral Saga (no news in years, covered Ch6), Project Baldr (no public release yet).

FE5: FE5AD (WIP, at Ch14x).

FE9, FE10: FE9+FE10 (complete, in Chinese), Sacred Radiance (no news in years, up to FE9 Ch3).

FE16: Blue Lions Demake (main story present).

FE17: Engage Remake (no public release yet).

Berwick: The Lazberia Project (no public release yet).

BSFE: BSFE GBA (complete).

I’d suggest playing the official games if you can. I can’t speak for several hacks, but Sacred Echoes was partially rewritten especially during the last act. It’s not so much a port as it is a remake or reinterpretation, and trying to engage with other people when they played the official games and you played essentially glorified fanfiction (I say this with all the warmth in my heart) may cause some confusion.

good news, a game exists called “shadow dragon and the blade of light” for nes, which is relatively cheap on power to emulate
