I did forget to include a Credits document in the Dropbox link, so the credit is to Plant for the entire animation and me for scripting.
Oh snap, didnt know you were back. Good work as usual.
i donât really want to be that guy, but after more than a month i checked the repo out of curiosity, and i still found this stuff in the preview section:
guess iâll say it one more time for good measure: i would like to have all of those old mugs listed above removed from the repo( ONLY the ones in this post, NOT the updated ones ).
the reasons are:
» theyâre obsolete;
» iâve already made updated versions with frames and other fixes before, and theyâre currently inside the repo;
» thereâs no need to have multiple copies of the same old mugs, since they just take space for no valid reason.
[edit] to facilitate the search to whoever is managing the repo these days, you can find all of these inside the âFinal Fantasyâ and âFateâ subcategories in the âOther Franchisesâ section of the repo.
Sure thing.
Jeez
Thatâs unsettling.
This pic doesnât seem to work.
Oh, lmao
I LITERALLY just needed a bald monk, thankâs Pushwall.
JJ just went through and updated the whole Repo up to Pushwallâs post. There are some minor display issues though, as some internal files were named HandAxe instead of Handaxe, so those gifs arenât previewing correctly on the site. Weâll have it fixed pretty quickly.
But man, it sure is nice to have the repo actually caught up on a regular basis now eh? Big hand to the volunteers who work their butts off to make it happen.
good job~
iâll take the occasion to do a couple of things: first, this one still needs to be updated into the repo since it probably got either missed or messed up before, when i posted it in the main topic.
this one has fixed frames and details, so you might want to remove the other currently in the repo while youâre at it.
the nameâs Mordred, from Fate/stay night( would be the Other Franchises > Fate sub category in the repo ):
and second, iâve been thinking about this before but never actually got to the point of asking, so iâll just do it right away with a poll.
- Have few portraits( 1~2 maximum ) of the same subject with lots of details
- Have many portraits( from 2 to 4 or eventually even more ) of the same subject with different details for each one

this is just for my own curiosity, as i rarely see people adding little things like freckles, scars or other stuff like that.
not everyone has access to âseriousâ digital art softwares, and of course not everyone is a professional artist, but iâd like to hear what you guys think about the old âquality vs quantityâ concept when it comes to sprite resources / assets.
donât worry though, i do not plan to submerge the repo thread with a thousand of different variants
When it comes to portraits, I add them pretty much immedietly. A week is the maximum.
For other I cannot say, but there are regular updates.
Itâs much better nowadays since thereâs more than one person doing this.
So do these get added to the repository fairly regularly or is it best practice to download from the thread?
It is managed by git, so once downloaded, simply type the command âgit pullâ to update to the latest version.
However, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- have a PC
- have an environment where you can run git commands
- have the knowledge to execute git commands on the command line
With windows, once the search index is created, you will be able to search.
Immediately after downloading, the index has not been created, so you have to wait a while.
Since there are a large number of files, I think it will take a few hours.
If itâs a battle animation, itâs useful to search for *.gif to catalog it.
Awesome. Thanks for the info. I downloaded it a few weeks ago. So i was mainly curious about kreeping it updated. Makes sense!
I think it would be useful to create a batch file like the following and place it outside the FE-Repo directory.
If you put it inside the FE-Repo directory, it will conflict with git management, so you may want to place it in a directory one level above or similar.
This is after You have verified that the manual git pull works well, though.
_fe-repo_update.bat
cd C:\foo\bar\FE-Repo
git pull
pause
I know Bleu when I see Deis.
Looks pretty amazing though for how it was made. Very nice implementation of a new animation. Now Iâm stuck on my BoF memories.
Oops I keep forgetting what thread to talk in.
Re the new AI Art Policy:
My statement is pretty simple. I love AI art and I look forward to it. Right now, the repo is entirely, completely, and ONLY for sprites. So AI artwork literally wonât matter for the Repo as we donât have an âartworkâ section. We do have a few fullbody sprites of various characters, but AI artwork is still ages away from any sort of precision required for making sprites.
In the event that AI-generated spritework becomes available, and I do think we are a WAYS away from that, I will allow it into the Repo on a case-by-case basis. If people are just going to vomit out a bunch of basic-looking sprites instead of taking AI spritework to a more serious level with careful promptcrafting and whatnot, then those sprites wonât be eligible for the repo. But if somehow AI spritework reaches parity with human spritework like AI artwork is presently rushing toward for normal artworkâŠ
Then great!
I look forward to the AI art revolution and our future AI waifu overlords.
Q: But Klok. Youâre a writer. What if a robot learns to writes better than you? Would you like it if you were replaced? Thatâs what artists are going through!
A: Wait youâre saying a robot could write stories of the quality and caliber that I currently write? I could read sweeping and excellent works generated in minutes or seconds? I could use AI writing to supplement or even replace my own efforts?
SIGN ME UP!
AI artwork, and the coming AI revolution itself, is an opportunity. Some of you will miss that boat and will fall behind while crying that you were replaced. For the more observant people, itâs a chance to take their already excellent skills and drive them into the AI to out-produce works normies canât make.
Q: But I like making art because itâs a creative process. Wonât AI artwork rob me of that process?
A: No. You can still make artwork. In fact, I believe in five years time that while AI artwork will definitely be absolutely dominant, it wonât be able to fully replace hand-crafted, hand-painted, unique expressions of human artistic creativity.
TL:DR, git gud.
What I find interesting is that the AI generated is more or less cut and pasting with certain pieces and taking colors based on certain art styles(There is more complication i know, but i didnât really look that deep into it to be honest). Looking at it, it reminds me quite a bit of spriting (non-scratch ones anyway). I was actually interested in if the AI itself can be used for spriting purposes when I first heard about how it works.
âŠoh, now I get it.
