After toying around with BSFE Hacking for the last few weeks, i managed to make something halfway-coherent with a hex-editor: Dice FE!
Evil Sorcerer Vaam has turned the righteous thieves of BSFE Episode 3 into Dice - Does this make the map worse? idk probably but its definetly interesting

mostly just figuring out how to change Character Classes and Portraits, as well as the fact i just like Dice and wanted to make something, especially given the limited amount of love BSFE gets in general
given the fact they run on the same engine and have the same format and color limitations: definetly yes. do i know how to do that? no lol but its surely possible
figuring out how to add custom images as portraits is one of the things i wanna try doing next in BSFE
Honestly that FE12 already kinda does that is stellar, considering they had no reason to do this in FE12. Like no one would have cared, it would be an “obscure missed chance” at best.
But they still went and did it, but yeah, seeing it in the original would be neat too, I just find it cool that it already happened.
Plus I love silly FE characters that gain no love, its just that IS does give a lot of characters love all things considered, but considering there are so many characters giving everyone infinite love is difficult.
I spent some time looking into portrait importing and it definetly is doable in FE3 (in BSFE too but idk where the locations for the portraits are-) the main problem i think is just adding characters bc i dont know how to do that though replacing existing ones with the BSFE cast is definetly possible
What’s the checksum of the file you used to generate the patch? 'Cause neither my JP ROM or English-patched ROM are giving me a working file. I can run both on their own, but not this.
tried patching it myself using my BSFE3 JP ROM and tbh i dont really know much about this kinda stuff but it worked for me , i think this is checksum stuff?
Hmmm, I see. The checksum for mine is 3d3eb686, which I found on No-Intro, while yours I found listed on a database for an xMAME project on GitHub. I think we just have different versions. Satellaview is complicated since some games were released multiple times with slightly different data. Though, I do find it odd both of us can apply the English patch.
