Though I do agree with most of your points on Conquest.
It’s one of my favorites in the series but I most certainly would not try to justify its story being good.
I also fully agree with your takes for FE12.
Fates was a mistake, ALL of Fates including Conquest (Massively overhyped).
The DS FEs supremely overhyped.
Echoes is the best game in the series.
I agree fully on FE6. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rolled my eyes at people calling Berkut an amazing villain…he’s just a dumb manchild that sacrificed his wife to a blatantly evil “god” because he couldn’t handle not being the best. Oh boo hoo, you’re a beloved and accomplished lord of the Rigellian Empire with a loving wife and bright future despite being an elitist asshole that doesn’t really deserve it. Cry me a river. He’s less sympathetic than most Fates villains to me and that’s saying something. He’s not even a cool foil for Alm, he just feels like an irrelevant side character that Alm only sort of cares about because they’re related. Slaying him in Duma Tower was no different than killing any sub-boss in Tower of Valni, just another obstacle with too much screentime. Cool design though.

Heroes gamepley is fun and challanging.
FE10’s composer’s style is generally just messy, unfocused and lacks a lot of clarity, but there are some really cool things that it does.
My hot take: FE gameplay is inherently unbalanced and we will never have a balanced FE game because the system is completely unfair to begin with
Awakening is the best game in the series and Ike is the worst lord

It’s not a shitpost. Gaiden by far has much better replayability and a more bearable act 4. You have graveyard warping so you can get any unit on any side if needed. Warp is infinite, Rings are stronger in general and make Act 4 more bearable. Falcon knights in gaiden are also much much better and were specifically designed to make Act 4 less hellish. Mage ring is also better, etc.
Also Duma Tower is actually fun in gaiden, same as act 5.
Story wise:
-There’s no Conrad
-There’s no Berkut
-There’s no Premonition
-Alm and Celica actually discuss their differing paths peacefully like actual humans instead of the forced act 2 drama.
-Celica’s sacrifice actually makes sense due to Alm physically being stuck in the dragons maw being attacked every single turn (Instead in echoes where he can just go back). You the player also decide to step forward and sacrifice Celica yourself. It’s a small detail that changes the scene for the better.
-Etc.
Design wise:
I absolutely unironically love the 90’s Gaiden designs, from Celica to Dong armor Alm or Nomah, etc.
Music wise:
Echoes does beat Gaiden in this category but some tracks are much better in Gaiden like Celica’s act 4 player phase (Victory theme in gaiden) and the recruitment theme.
Also Gaiden didn’t have 60+ Dollar DLC at launch.
I agree on the premonition being bad and Celica’s story being ruined.

Gaiden is neat mechanically but it’s slower than Arden, but I feel that SOV’s QoL and speed updates allow the mechanics to shine, putting it into my top 2 position amongst all FEs.
Have a wall of text of opinions I tend to disagree with people on. I think I’m just gonna do my three favorite games because I’m pretty tired of writing. I may return and do more later. Obviously, not everyone has similar thoughts in each circle they’re in, or person they run into. So, some of these may not be considered “hot takes” to the rest of you all.
-Arden is an unironically good character. I like his arc.
-I feel nothing towards Deirdre.
-Lachesis as a character sucks. I don’t get the appeal. Awesome unit, though.
-Beowulf is awesome. I don’t know why I see so much hate for him. He’s a very easy to apply unit and a cool dude. He’s also not as ugly as I see people say he is.
-Eldigan is one of the best and only good Camus characters. The trope sucks most of the time.
-I wish we got different characters in the most recent FE4 FEH banner rather than Annand and Díthorba. I would have preferred to see someone like Claud, and to have Manfroy as the GHB.
-I feel nothing towards Diarmuid and do not understand why he has fans, besides as a unit. Tristan is way cooler in my opinion.
-I do not understand why people like Julia. There is so little for me to care about.
-The subs are generally more interesting than the regular children.
-Johalvier is infinitely cooler than Johan. I dislike Johan a lot.
-I like Arion (big surprise). Not sure what people really think of him, never see much discussion, so I figured I’d write this down here.
-Probably not a hot take, but Adept siege tomes are seriously awful. Worst part of the gameplay. Still mad about that like, 2% chance that murdered Holyn for me once.
-I think fatigue is an interesting and fun mechanic. It’s not as troublesome/stressful as many claim it to be.
-Brighton is the most depressing unit ever.
-While Gomez is infamous for being a tough boss, I think he’s a really good character for a one or two chapter boss. Great way of showing the struggles that Thracia has.
-Chapter 14 sucks and I have no idea why I keep seeing people who say it’s not that bad.
-Probably not a hot take, but Augustus and Dorius are awesome and easily the best tacticians the series has ever done, and probably will ever do.
-Also probably not a hot take, but Thracia escape is awesome as well. Felt like getting that out there.
-I wish there were more characters like Ralph in the series. Simple dudes who fight for what’s right. You don’t need some tragic backstory or a lot of dialogue to be a good or fun character. You see him, see what he does, and get his motive and that’s all he needs. Dalsin and Hicks are good examples of this as well.
-Xavier is one of the coolest characters in the series.
-I like Blonde Glade more than Sprite Glade.
-Prefacing this with saying this is my favorite game in the series.
-One of if not the best casts in the series.
-FE6 unit design is amazing. I love the two unpromoted, one prepromoted, extras of the starting squad, and backup units.
-Ogier is a very, very fun unit. Rough start but once he gets rolling I find that he becomes a monster.
-I think Echidna is better than Bartre as a unit, or at the very least easier to use, but Bartre is way cooler anyways. Elffin is also way cooler than Larum. B route supremacy.
-Anybody who says Sacae maps are better has to be lying. All of them except the first one are bottom tier garbage and some of the least fun I’ve ever had. Seriously terrible map design.
-Arcadia is great, and I don’t understand why people complain about it when 14x is immediately after it.
-Rutger is still super good on NM due to obnoxious thrones and being an accurate and good boss killer.
-Igrene does not replace Klein, for me. Klein usually stays as the best Sniper.
-Probably the silliest one here but I wish Roartz and Arcardo got official artwork.
-Thieves not promoting is fine.
-Trial maps are cool, I just wish the maps in them weren’t super terrible.
-I like Saul with purple hair more than blue hair.
-Garret is the most overlooked character in the game.
-Galle should have been playable and the game very much shows he definitely was at some point. Absolute shame that he was cut.
-I wouldn’t mind Eliwood or Guinevere being playable in the main story either. These are the only three characters I’d want to be added.

Yeah, Echida is probably better than Bartre, but god is Bartre fun to use. 22 str go brrrrrrrrrrr and Warrior is one of my favorite GBA classes.
I agree. Even if he doesn’t double, is a very good addition to the army. Just having a Berserker (with all the benefits that class gives, like walk on mountains and rivers, and 30% crit boost) with inmense strenght and HP but that isn’t that lackluster in defense either without having to go through the trouble of Gonzales’ accuracy and Geese’s uncomfortably balanced stats, is very welcome, especially in the fight against Murdock, snce you can just put him on a mountain and watch him destroy or leave very injured the wyverns coming at you. And he has hard mode bonuses too!
