Looking for advice

So I’m new to this and im having a little bit of trouble navigating the search function to find out if questions like this have been posted before, so i figured this would be the best place to put it. I’ve played a lot of fire emblem games but I’ve never played a rom hack before and I’m looking for recommendations based on what im looking for. I wasn’t sure if i should post something like that in questions or discussions, since I’m technically asking questions but the questions section looks like it’s for questions about making rom hacks. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey hey, so yeah it’s been posted before but don’t worry buddy, I got you!
Obviously this isn’t an “official list” but here’s what I’d suggest:

The Last Promise (it’s a classic)
Hetja’s Quest (a really cool and unique roguelike version of FE)
Souls of the Forest (another really well designed game with unique animations and just feels great)
Drums of War (heavily recommended by the community)
Vision Quest (heavily recommended by the community)
Dark Stone (a shift in perspective from FE8, you play as the enemies)
Eckesachs (same as the previous one, but for FE6)
Sacred Trilogy (FE8 but with new classes and stuff, really fun)
Code of the Burger King (lolz)
Vesly (among others) makes some great randomizers as well
You got some classic game Remasters on here too!!

I’m sure you’ll find something in here that you’re gonna love!!
*also sorry if your entry isn’t in here, I didn’t want to make too long a reply, there’s just so much quality stuff to play and not enough hours to play them all at once lol.

You could also play LT games, there’s lots of awesome ones that do insane things that Hacks can’t manage.

Embrace of the Fog
Server 72
Fate of the Fallen
Blade & Claw
Dies Emblem
Myriad Fortune

Just to name a few.

Hey, thanks for the recommendations. Ive not heard of LT games. Thats something different from a rom hack i take it?

So Lex Talionis is a game engine built from the ground up to emulate the experience of GBA era FE games.

It has none of the limitations that hacking has in regards to size, sounds, colors, etc. People have been able to make some truly awesome things with it.
