Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade 'Remake' [FE6 in FE8] [COMPLETE]

what’s that final skill on Bors? Even with the newest patch my game still shows him with Ignis

I think that ones Full Iron Body don’t actually remember the name. Hell I could even have the effect wrong but I think that one blocks seal effects.

A few hacks swap around , or use different, skill images and eventually it all just blends together.

Yikes you have to restart your whole game for the new skills to show up.

oh…crapbaskets…thanks for the tip.

I have the latest update, but Larum is still level 20 cap. Elffin works fine though.

Full metal body is the final skill for bors. Ya patching it and overwrite on the old rom OR using save state of old patch causes this How to fix it well re play the whole game OR load a save state where he didnt get his last skill

No u got it right my friend

I mean…why full metal body? There’s not that many Seal skills in the game .

Ohh trust me brother there are a not a lot magic seal res seal skill seal but each takes away 6 points is kinda scary imagin u have perect kill but now -6 dmg and he will double u no matter what

It’s actually fits a general since you know armor knights literally wear metallic armor all over their body hence Full Metal Body.

I finished this tonight, so it’s time for a more serious post. First off, the positives:

Good stuff
  • Overall, I had a lot of fun revisiting FE6 with this fan remake. The best part is probably how most units got some well-deserved buffs; being able to finally bring Bartre and Dorothy to the endgame was cool.

  • It was nice using all three Ostian knights for once. If anything, they’re overpowered, but I didn’t really mind it much: Bors has incredible bases and decent growths, and Wendy easily outclasses anyone if you give her a chance. Speaking of, soldier Wendy was weird, but I promoted into a General soon after, so whatever.

  • The rewritten cutscenes were charming and had me on the edge of my seat at times. At the very least, I had a reason to avoid skipping them.

And for the bad things:

Skill bloat
  • I pretty much agree with everything kokoriko said, but I’ll take it a step further and said that this was the least enjoyable part of the experience for me. Some may find this section subjective, but I honestly think half or more of the skills should go. The fact that there’s so many of them exacerbates every issue I’m about to mention.

  • Proc skills: Not a fan of them because it makes battles too unpredictable. They can add some hype moments when they exist in moderation, but there’s just too many of them. When you get to this level of unpredictability, the game ends up becoming less strategic. I think some like Astra on swordmasters or Aether on the lord are whatever, but stuff like Impale, Great Shield and Aegis add no strategic depth.

  • Rally skills: These ones are my pet peeves. I never use them… willingly. Yes, I know they’re powerful and all, but I think the games are fine without them. I know it’s not your fault, but the fact they’re always at the top of the menu really bothers me and had me use them by accident dozens of times during my playthrough. I think anyone who plays fast has experienced the same thing in hacks.

  • Miracle: I’m fine with most skills that don’t fit in the categories above, but Miracle is one of those exceptions. Aside from making some enemies more annoying to take down, not being able to take down enemy bishops in one hit is be a terrible idea when they’re one of the enemies who can easily crit a good number of the player’s units. I don’t think it increases the difficulty in any meaningful way, though, as it is unlikely that the player will have trouble doubling them, so they will die assuming the player doesn’t die to the counterattack. Removing the ability to kill them in one hit only reduces flexibility.

  • Galeforce: Too powerful, yet very prevalent in the player’s army. I think this is one of those skills you give someone who needs it to be relevant, not units that are already good.

  • Re-Move: I’m pretty sure I saw it proc more than once in a single turn, which is hilariously busted. Honestly though, it would still be broken if it didn’t, and the fact that your dancer (of all people) gets this is even worse. This skill should probably not exist; it’s too good, yet unreliable, so it adds nothing.

Units
  • The game reminds me more of FE8 in which everyone is at least usable, which is a good thing. However…

  • Elffin might be the worst unit in the entire game, joining at an extremely low lvl with unimpressive bases at a point where most players already promoted some of their units (even with no arena abuse). Being locked to light magic (the worst type imo) is the cherry on top.

  • Cath likes going for the kill. Not sure if this is the case in vanilla FE6, but her low stats would make it a non-issue there anyway. Her AI needs to be tweaked. In any case, she can easily one round a base lvl Roy in her debut chapter, lol.

  • Some choices, such as Marcus not being able to use axes, while Zelot still can, seem arbitrary.

Other stuff
  • Shops on the world map are great because no one likes doing prep work mid battle, but I wish they were the same as the ones you visit in the chapters. Is there any reason why is this not the case? Why are there so many shops with only 2 items? Looking for the one that sells hand axes or the Mend staff all the time wasn’t fun. Speaking of, I could never find one on the world map that sold Restore staves, which are very important in FE6.

  • Forced deployments are not fun. Bors being mandatory in Ostia was funny because of how unexpected it was, but I imagine the people who benched him weren’t pleased. I know I wasn’t happy when the game forced me to deploy units such as Guinivere later on. I get that some of them get cool dialogue with the boss and stuff, but this is not the way.

  • This is really minor, since you’re never forced to bring a specific number of units, but raising the deployment limit often made me bring more people than I really needed and maps took longer as a result. I never felt like I needed more slots in vanilla FE6, but I suppose it’s fine this way too.

  • The game seems to freeze consistently when one of your units activate great shield while being attacked by a dragon.

In the end, I think this project shows great promise, specially considering how often you’re updating it. It’s clear that a lot of effort went into this and I hope to see more hacks from you in the future.

And him not being able to use dance/play refresh move

Yes i agree can we make it so that we get what the actual fight/battle map shop sells like in the desert map u get dark life steal tome (i always miss spell it so i wont bother to try) so we should be able to get it in travel map like it makes no sense to have it during battle but not after battle

Also it my first time using quote its hella confusing. The tutorial bot also doesn’t teach it which is sad as i am dum as a rock and i would not have mind spending like 15min learning a complete basic if it was programed to teach it but then again its hard to program so i just have to deal with it and learn myself if u see a very crudely made reply which is in wrong format i just have to say sorry i am dum so pls deal with it for the time till i learn it all

Not sure if this has been asked yet, but can units get multiple S-ranks with weapons like in vanilla FE6?

Yes they can. So don’t worry about accidentally S-Ranking the “wrong” weapon (this kinda annoyed me in FE7 and FE8).
