I honestly can’t tell you what the issue is. The game works perfectly fine on my end. No issues whatsoever.
@Rigas Wait, do you have a BIOS file for your emulator? Look at the error message you got.
Going to be doing a plathrough here
Dont know what that is…also marisa was a pupil aswell and i evolved her to dark druid without any issues …
Do not quote me on that, but I think what a Bios does is that the emulator acts more like the original Plattform than before. I assume that because the PS2 emulator needs a ps2 bios to run and a gba bios is needed to emulate gba linkconnection. It is actually kinda easy to find on the Internet.
I did download the bios and it still crushed so nvm im about to finish the hack anyway…
That error means there was a bad jump in the code and you ended up at offset 0x00000040, which is in BIOS. It doesn’t mean your BIOS is bad or missing or anything, but that there’s a problem in the code (most likely a misaligned stack).
Ah, alright. I might want to find why that happens.
Also, I released an update for the patch! This time, Arcane Lord anims have been fixed, Promoted Lord growths have been normalized, and Vanguards and Harbingers no longer have messed up map sprites!
@Ephraim225, get this whenever you can, okay?
Will this affect my current playthrough or should I start over
This shouldn’t affect your current playthrough
I’ve played to just past the route split so far, so that seems like a good time to talk about my current experience.
I’ve really been enjoying how the hack plays, though that hasn’t changed. The new classes especially make playing feel a little chaotic which is great for a randomizer. Though I’m curious, what determines if a unit randomizes into a T3 class? I’m guessing that T3 classes are just put in the T2 class randomization pool?
Probably my strongest unit so far is Riev as a Revenant (fitting). Revenant’s mov may have gone back down to 4, but renewal is really strong. Though I noticed when promoting into an Entombed, one of the promotion bonuses is -1 con. Is that intentional?
It would’ve been difficult to make it through chapter 5x if Saleh hadn’t spawned so strong. Even so, Cormag and Saleh were the only survivors of the chapter. I feel like Luna ignoring res, having decent hit and having 20 crit is a bit much.
I found a Metis’ Tome, but I couldn’t seem to get it to effect any growths after using it. If it’s a dummy item, I’d recommend at least making it worth a bit of gold to sell so it at least has some use. Same thing goes for any other dummy items if they’re in the pool.
This was my Tirado, which was absolutely nuts. I appreciate the enemies being able to randomize into something really strong just the same as the player units. I’m not ashamed to admit that I completely forgot about Vantage and lost Fado to him.
Hellbones’ description needs updating by the way, as they can no longer wield all of the weapon types listed in their description.
I’ve noticed that sometimes Clerics will be able to heal themselves, though the healing only actually works sometimes. If I recall correctly, I believe that is a bug carried over from the base of this hack, Circles’ self-randomizer. It’s not a big deal anyway.
Overall I’d say that so far the only thing that feels a little too strong is Luna, and the hack feels good to play. I’ll see if anything else pops up as I play.
Oh, and it might be worth considering putting door and chest keys in the preparations shop. I’ve had to skip every chest so far. Unless it’s intentional that you want the player to have to rely on a thief spawn in order to add to the random nature of the hack.
Alright, so Luna was reverted to a slightly weaker version of its FE 7 variant, with 20 less hit. That’s because if it had 50 hit, it would be terrible. I can reduce the crit to 10 if it helps.
This hack uses an older version of the Skills System, so growth changes aren’t shown. They’re still there. Of course, I aught to give Metis’ Tomes a price.
It wasn’t the description that was wrong: I actually forgot to let Hellbones and Bonewalkers use bows. Thanks for catching that!
T3 classes actually have their own pool. Fado is one of the units that is a T3 at base. Of the playable characters, Colm and Artur are also T3s at base. Many bosses are also T3s now, with the exception of Eirika, who is always a Fell Lord (Eirika Great Lord) at base.
I might re-revert the move of Renevants to 5, and give Entombed more base con.
And, also, putting those keys in the prep shop will certainly HELP, but what about Chapter 3?
Expect a new version, where I once again sort out my shit! And, once again, thank you so much for playing and enjoying my hack of a good hack!
Edit: I thought that early prep shops HAD chest keys and door keys?
Oh ok, so the Metis’ Tome still takes effect. Good to know. Might be worth updating its description just so you don’t get asked about it a bunch.
I figured T3’s were just a low chance to replace T2’s but manually placing them like that works out much better for the enemy side.
Well chapter 3 and 5 would be the exceptions. The long term is more important.
Hmmm, checking the prep shop on chapter 9 has them. I definitely looked for them before, but it’s very possible that it is simply a case of incredible blindness on my end haha.
Of course! I wouldn’t play it if it wasn’t enjoyable.
I also forgot to mention that it seems like a lot of tomes are really light now. Will there still be heavy tomes in some of the higher tier ones, or is decreasing the weight of most of them due to something you’re trying to achieve balance wise?
I decreased the weight to FE 6 standards. Should I revert the weight for some tomes back? I’m not reverting Light magic, because then Bishops would suck ass.
I can’t really say too much on the balance of tomes between FE8 and FE6 since I haven’t finished FE6 yet (though I’m on chapter 20 or so) so I’m probably not the best person to ask. It was just something I noticed. I do know however that how the tomes are balanced in the 2 games are rather different from each other, so if you’re sticking with the FE6 style as a base, it might be worth looking at the tomes in FE8 that FE6 doesn’t have and try and balance them closer to FE6’s style.
For example, FE8 has some very heavy exclusive tomes, so encountering 2-6 weight tomes for most of the game only to be hit with, say a 20 weight tome or something later would be kind of jarring gameplay wise.
Alright, I’m doing that.
Also, until I can get a real portrait for Fomortiis, I’m using a placeholder for his battle quotes.
Okay, I just updated the patch. Tome weights have been lowered, Revenants get +1 move, Bonewalkers and Hellbones get bows, and more!
Edit: So there’s a new Deathgoyle anim? Interesting…
Poll time!
Which is the better T3: The Strigoi, or L95’s Deathgoyle?
- Strigoi
- Deathgoyle

If we could get a link to the animations it’d be much easier to vote.
