If there’s a way to fix it, I don’t know how.
Also, I updated the Hard Mode patch!
Some things I did:
- Fixed the animations of the Warlock: thanks to @SHYUTERz for helping me with that!
- Gave the Warlock generic palettes for being an enemy.
- Balanced the growth rates of T3 enemy units
- Buffed Fomortiis A LOT: hopefully enough to make him a challenge.
Link’s in the main post. Enjoy!
Hey, I’m currently using the patch “village rhymes with pillage”. But I’m not sure what the other two patch versions are? Is what the heck the hardmode? That’s not 100% clear for me.
It’s this:
If you checked the very first post of the thread, I had it there.
I saw but I just wanted to make sure. “Village rhymes with pillage” and “village does not rhyme with pillage” and “what the heck” do not give me any direct inside about what they are. Like what’s the difference between the first two?
But thanks.
Yeah, I should probably explain that.
Okay, so the top two roms (villagerhymeswithpillage and villagedoesnotrhymewithpillage) refer to the more normal version of the hack (weapons aren’t as tampered with as much, meaning they are often more broken). The names in particular refer to a glitch that was in a previous version of circleseverywhere’s original Self Randomizer, where you could continuously enter certain villages for infinite items and money. It was patched out, but I have a version with it unpatched in case anyone wanted that.
The last link (welcometoheck) is the Hard mode. Balanced with help from @Cryse, it lacks the village glitch, enemies are harder and stronger, and weapons and classes are balanced better.
I’m sorry for the vagueness regarding the names. I initially believed that my descriptions would be enough, hence the shitty meme names. I do hope that this clears up confusion.
Ah, I see. I played Circles’ randomizer but didn’t know of the glitch. But now everything makes sense. Thanks again.
Yeah, it was in 1.1, I think.
Again, my apologies for not resolving this sooner.
I’m playing the hard mode patch, and it seems the Bard animation crashes the game. I have the most recent patch.
Huh… I may either try to fix it, or just disable dancing animations altogether. What do you think?
Alright, I updated all three patches this time!
- villagerhymeswithpillage and villagedoesnotrhymewithpillage have been updated to visually match welcometoheck.
- Class cards for T1 and T2 female classes have been added!
- A bug regarding Bards crashing the game has been (hopefully) resolved!
Actually, in a few minutes, I’m going to update the Hard Mode rom, to make Snipers and Archers look better.
Edit: Alright, now that that’s been taken care of, you should be able to get it! Have fun, friends!
Hard Mode has been updated! Here’s what’s in store for you now:
- Chapter 11’s been edited so that Amelia and Tana are initially in less trouble.
- Mauthe Doogs and Cerberuses have been altered! They have less mov, but are cavaliers that can move through trees easily!
- All T2s that can’t promote have improved promo gains. All monsters in this category have +1 to all their caps.
- A new monster weapon has been added: Feral Claw! It’s a 3 mt Brave monster weapon, and will now spawn on monsters occasionally.
Also, another thing to point out:
Baels, Elder Baels, DracoZombies, and the Demon King are armor units. They benefit from Armor March.
Mauthe Doogs and Cerberuses are cavaliers. They can use Canto and ferry people around.
But yeah, have fun!
Hey, I have two questions that you can answer maybe:
-
Are the nice “personality” and nice thighs abilities really as ehhh useless as they say?
-
Why do Kyle and Forde replacements Ewan and Saleh always have the same class? Just out of interest.
Yes the “nice” skills are as useless as it says they are.
As for Saleh and Ewan having the same class. Kyle and Forde in the vanilla game they both are the same class so it makes sense for the replacements to have the same class. Or your just lucky and got both to be the same.
Helix is right. Saleh and Ewan are set to be Mages at base, just like Forde and Kyle are cavs, so they’ll share the same class.
So all units of one class on a map always get randomized into the same new class basically?
Yeah.
Okay, this is going to be a bit of an odd question, but which set of weapons would you all prefer for the T3 only weapons?
- Durandal, Maltet, Armads, Mulagir, Forblaze, Aureola, Apocalypse, Saint’s Staff
- Regal Blade, Rex Hasta, Basilikos, Reinfleche, Excalibur, Luce, Gespent

The reason I ask is that, now that @SHYUTERz has released a Luce animation, I could personally do either set of weapons. The only thing is, which do I choose?
I was wondering if it would be possible to make a patch for a non-randomized version. I think it would be a lot of fun for those who enjoy the hack but don’t really like the whole randomized aspect
I doubt it’s possible but it doesn’t hurt to ask ,does it
It’s certainly possible (albeit without the “fun” of randomization)! I can’t guarantee that there’ll be much story involved, since my writing is cringe and bad by my standards, but a non-randomized version would be able to do a lot more, especially as far as the Skill System is concerned!
If I were to release aversion of this without the randomizer aspect, should I keep T3s and the increased difficulty curve? Would that be something that people would want?
