@Silph-ver Poor Jay can be a headcase haha. Awesome drawing and thanks for your support!
Been away from Home for some days and I have nearly twenty hack to catch up, what an intense FEE3 ! Congrats to everyone
I somehow didn’t know this was a thing until just minutes ago!?! Probably due to the 6 day workweek I’ve been stuck with during this last week of FEE3
. I have never been happier to be a meme!
I’m as of this writing, 3 min before midnight, all caught up on submissions, but I’m gonna wait til I’m done watching Iron Emblem before my next wave of comments. I’m so glad people seem to appreciate them though!!! Makes it all worth doing.
Iron Emblem by MournfulRelic, a project designed to be played the way Kaga intended. Come check it out!
Alright, time for a big one. A big moment, if you will.
Nations of Conquest! I really enjoyed the simple appeal of this showcase, you have a small but nice looking and dense map, some side objectives and fun recruitable characters, classic early game FE goodness! I’ve also said in the past that I appreciate some creator commentary, but co-commentary that includes the creator is even better, and it seems like Selk and Dainn had a ton of fun recording this showcase, and it made it just that much more enjoyable to watch!
Terror of the Forest! Ok so first of I love the usage of Linebeck’s Theme from LoZ Phantom Hourglass as a map theme!
It really fits the bumbling, but self assured vibe that the hack is going for with Sylvester and Co. The map itself looked fun, and I was pleasantly surprised by the density of recruitable characters, events, and overall level of engagement in the chapter!
Fallen Flame! Man, the map palette is so pretty!!! The first thing I noticed upon starting my showcase watchthrough. The rest of the art doesn’t disappoint either, great mugs, menus, and other forms of user interface. Outside of a few hiccups with area spawns, the map itself looked solid too!
Chalphy Castle! Certainly wasn’t expecting something like this to be showcased
. Having all of your hacks on your own website is fun, for sure, but what really caught my attention was the plan to document the various version differences of various FE titles! It’s always great to have more information documented for easier access in the future!
Curse of the Edge! So I know this project has already been canceled, and while that’s unfortunate, I understand the reasons why a creator may not be satisfied with their work or motivated to continue. However, it’s clear to me that there was definitely some enthusiasm and effort put into this project, and I wanted to say that I’m glad it was showcased this year at FEE3. It reminded me of some feelings of my own, and about the larger community’s work, but I think I’ll save those thoughts for a later time.
…Oh, also, it used Gaiden music for it’s PP map theme, so I have little choice but to like it
.
Iron Emblem! Commander best Hackrom lord confirmed. Iron Emblem is probably, at least conceptually, one of my favorite hacks; I just love how committed it is to its premise, and how strong of an experience it is even missing many of what FE would consider core features. It’s working evidence of the power of the gameplay systems created by Kaga and the other designers working on early FE over 30 years ago now!!! I have an emotional bond with 24th Squad 2 and 4! The only reason I wouldn’t place Iron Emblem at the very top of my favorite projects is that I am bad at FE, and have been unable to get past ch 7
. I highly recommend people try this project, even if they don’t typically ironman.
Like TDAWS said, Iron Emblem is a very interesting project in the sense that it really get rid of anything that isn’t essential, and just focus on the core of what made Fire Emblem. I see a bit of Fumito Ueda in this way of thinking for game making, and it worked really well when I tried it !
It’s also always nice to see remake of FE1 with the GBA engine, and Dark Dragon Reborn looks quite qualitative !
Dark Dragon Reborn! It’s FE1/11, but in GBA! The map is authentic, the unit are authentic, it’s a very faithful, detailed recreation, with a little of it’s own spice seasoned in. The plus weapons are a nice way to capture some of the feel of forging without actually having forging, and the info text being somewhat diagetic is really fun and unique!
Heart of Hothr! I’m honestly amazed, is this the first fully custom Thracia hack? What has been accomplished here is truly incredible, and I love the detail of using arena characters as inspiration for playable units! Can’t wait to see more!
The CrowdControl script for Rd has been submitted and will be released for live support soon! A lot of new effects have been made since the video was recorded and I’m very excited to get it out to you all!
And an important note, I’ll be expanding this to GBA Fire Emblem as well in the upcoming months!
There’ve been others, like mine, which was submitted to FEE3 back in 2017: Fire Emblem E3 2017 - Emblem Chronicles VII - YouTube
all good things, as always, start with the demon king killing your family
