Well, here I am, after finally finishing the game. I must say that it’s actually my first time doing a review, but i liked the game so much. So i wanted to give my opinion
Sice the beggining of the game you can see that is a very ambitious project. You almost feel like playing an official game, but better.
The music, graphics, and especially the spell animations are a truly work of art.
Regarding history, although a bit confusing at the start, you slowly start to understand what the heck is going on, and the plot twists are good too.
In the character department, although the character roster is very short, it’s perfect. Let’s be honest, you dont play a FE GBA game and use all characters, so implementing a short but competent roster is a win in my opinion.
On the negative zone, primiarily the exploits make the game incredibly easy late game, hopefully the developer can fix those. Also, i must say that the diffculty curve it’s very strange. The first chapters are really tough, especially the infamous chapter 5, yes, EVEN AFTER PATCHED THE CHAPTER IS HARD, you can simply not fight that amount of enemies while also fighting the prepromotes. The officials also play a key role on the difficulty department, while i love the idea of all having Cavalry effective weapons, the amount of mounted units you have makes hard to advance in the maps, making the gameplay slower.
"The Final Squad
Atlas, my man. A solid Main Character with a great attitude. He’s a very good unit in the late game, especially since his skill let him survive enemy phases with relative ease. Early tho, he’s a bit weak, and sword locked. Overall, a pretty solid unit.
Dont you have an idea at how much i love and hate Serene. Seriously, she’s slow and weak, she can’t reliably double enemies and she’s paper, 3 hits and thats all for her. However, access to staves is always a plus, and how much staves are buffed makes her a great utility unit.
And now we are here, at Thorn, the Utility man itself. I love the concept of a healer/thief unit. His skill also makes him almost a must in every map. He’s fast, reliable, his insane magic makes his Physic almost global, and he smells nice. Put him some boots and watch how he heals across the map. Don’t understimate his offensive tho, with a Sapphire Sword he can melt Knights really easy. Excellent unit.
You wanted a frontliner? There you are, a mounted fortress, with almost impenetrable defenses, and a great offensive stats, Liam takes the crown as the Frontline man himself. His personal skill is excellent on a slow unit as him, and his second skill almost nullifies bows and mid level magic attacks. Seriously though, you know he is a monster tank when a Warrior with a Tomahawk is doing 3 Damage to Liam.
Erika my girl! A some-what weird unit to use, really. My first impression was: “Really? A magic lance user?” i was pretty confused, until i saw her doing 40+ damage with a Emerald lance. Good damage, excellent movement in the map, and versatility with close and ranged combat, this woman has it all. She’s a bit fragile tho, so lave her behind attacking at 2 range with magic lances.
Another good unit, with good defenses and offenses, you can never go wrong with Arkas. He’s a bit on the slow side, so a couple of Speedwings are needed to fully unleash his potential. He’s a great candidate to wield the Excalibur once you get it.
At first i really wanted to make Elliot a Sage, but after i got the Horse Seal, i decided to go with Mage Knight. Now, here’s a interesting treat: the game doesn’t treat Elliot Mage Knight as a mounted unit (probably a bug?) so the officers dont have advantage at him, making Elliot a perfect counter with his strong magical attacks with 3 range using wind magic.
The swift anf elegance of the Sword Lady really captured my interest. Seriously, just look at her stats, also, with her personal skills and her 2 extra skills, plus her personal (Cough cough broken) weapon, she dominates the battlefield with grace and ellegance. Also her support it’s funny.
The Golden Dragon Lady herself, one of the only 3 flying units on the game. She’s a powerhouse, fliying on the enemy lines just to crush their hopes and dreams with Leviathan, easily reaching 50 DMG. Her personal weapon makes her a really good unit at early game, especially agains those pesky fire mages.
At first, i wanted to use both Talon and Nate together, but Nate really got overshadowed by Talon. Really, a 3 range mounted unit with a lot of speed and high defense? Sure!. Destroying wyverns with the S-rank Bow reaching 87 DMG is something really apreciated in this game, given the amount of enemy Wyverns.
The weird Est of this game, she joins at a low level but with great growths. The interesting part comes when you notice that she is a Flying/Healing Erika, throwing Magical Lances at enemies and rushing to heal. Sure, training her is really hard, but her personal weapon really helps her there. Just leave her out of reach of bows, shes fragile like a… snowflake
A pretty interesting unit, Jaxon is better for the late game, after you unlock his full potential thanks to his personal skill. Really solid defenses and offensive stats makes him a pretty good partner for Liam on the frontlines. Just make sure to leave him out of magic (a bit hard thanks to ascencion and descencion [Amazing animations!]) and he will destroy enemies. He actually one shoted (with a crit lol) Axcellia in chapter 12
I’ll be honest, i benched Fey for a lot of time until i needed her at chapter 11. After that, i realized you can never go wrong with an extra healer on the team, so i keep her. I wanted to make her a Bishop but i ran out of Master Seals Anyway, just look at this girl’s HP, insane. She’s a healer who can take a hit or two, then heal in your turn with the Valkyrie staff. I feel bad for his father tho…
Flora! the funny and cute mage. I was a bit surprised when i saw her personal skill, so i decided to go Druid to not to have too many horses. She’s a destrucion machine once you unlock her support (really hilarious too lol) reaching a whopping 70 DMG with the S-Rank tome. She’s also surpringly tanky so she is also a good front liner along Liam and Jaxon.
And at last, but not least, the Gotoh of this game. His insane growth rates along with his personal skill makes Onyx a great option to deal with bows and magic, and to bait Ascencion and Descencion. Great offensive stats too, this man has it all!
A really big thanks to ArcaneEli for all the work put in this hack. I had a great time!
