[FE6] Yet Another FE Girls

Directly inspired by @LArachel’s Another FE Girls, it’s the not-awaited next entry in the FE Girls saga
promolyn

As the title suggests, it’s FE6 but every playable unit is female: since FE6 has such a large cast, almost every female unit from GBA makes an appearance as well as some female bosses/NPCs, with the notable exceptions of Mieu (Lot’s sister), Hannah (FE7 augury lady), Hellene (Zephiel’s mom), Dara (Saleh’s grandma), and Sonia (Limstella obviously doesn’t count since they’re not girl, and their body and heart are constructs, as is this sorrow).

Unlike Another FE Girls, units will generally retain their vanilla class instead of that of the unit they’re replacing (with some exceptions, e.g. the FE7 pegs are now “griffins” that start with each of the other weapons as a secondary) - due to the certified female RPG archetype moment, this means there are far more fliers and magic users than in vanilla, which should make for an interesting experience. Also unlike Another FE Girls, I was pretty liberal about buffing units, and almost all of them have been tweaked in some way, both the new ones to fit the FE6 environment and the existing ones to make them stand out; not every unit is equally viable long-term or anything, but most of them should be at least solid for the time you have them. There are quite a few changes in general, like shop and treasure contents, bronze weapons, promotion items becoming Earth Seals, etc. - most of them were done with the intention of catering to the girls’ stats/classes, but others were just because I felt like it, so consider this “Yet Another FE6 Rebalance” as much as it is Yet Another FE Girls.

I actually bothered changing some dialogue this time, but only for villages with altered contents, and all other dialogue is still unchanged (I did try to Ctrl+H the names, but that caused the game to crash, and I didn’t feel like fixing it - yes it happened even when I changed all the “Lances” manually)

This seems cool. I’ll have to check it out. One question though, does the true ending still work the same only with the replacement units needing to be kept alive instead?

The gaiden/true ending conditions haven’t been changed, so for any unit that needs to survive in the original, the same will apply to their replacement

I checked the very first chapter, and immediately, there’s an issue.

As you can see, her Skill is bugged out here, and her displayed hitrate is not what it should be.

The reason is that you set the Hit of these weapons too high. There is, in fact, a cap (of sorts) on weapon Hit, beyond which you can’t go without causing bugs like this one.

I’m honestly baffled this wasn’t noticed, as the only thing I did was start Chapter 1 and I immediately saw it. And yes, I’m on the 1.1 version of the game.

What’s displayed as “7o” in-game is actually minus 30, it just looks weird, and the weapon has 60 more hit than it should to compensate, so she actually should have 133 hit here. The reason I did that in the first place was because it was the best way I could think of to disable the natural crit chance caused by skill since FE6 doesn’t have an easy way to turn crits off like in FE8 (though it still doesn’t work when taking support bonuses or class crit boosts into account). Everything’s working as intended, but it definitely looks ugly, and I’m looking for a less janky way to do it that will hopefully disable all crits.

I’m not sure how that happened, because I made this using the English fan translation patch. Did you somehow patch it to a Spanish-translated ROM?

Sorry friend, I made a mistake because of my translator. I meant that every time I install it, it comes out in Japanese. No matter what game I install, it doesn’t appear in English, only in Japanese

Did you start a new game to make sure the patch went through and that it’s not just vanilla JP FE6? I can’t imagine that it would patch in the “girls” but not the translation.

That caught me off guard lol :joy:
