[FE5] [Complete] Fire Emblem: New Theory of Thracia 776

Yup the idea is that her minor Forseti blood would make her pretty good at using wind magic like Grafcalibur and you can even have her weild forseti by maxing her wind magic rank and giving her the Paragon manual. It will just give her half the bonuses of the holy weapon but this minor blood mechanic is based off of Fe4 Binary

Thank you!

Happy Anniversary! Today, August 28th (JST), is the day that the Nintendo Power pre-written version of Fire Emblem Thracia 776 was released. Today marks the 26th anniversary since its release.

Today, I’ve updated with some balance adjustments and bug fixes. The number of years in the title screen has also been updated. Details of the update are listed on this page.

Due to my current busy schedule, the other planned updates (addition of branching events and alternative units) are not included this time. I plan to provide them in stages in the future, I appreciate your continued support.

Patch does not appear to work. I have made sure the ROM is headered, that this is the JP ROM version, and that the correct software is being used. It reads that it has a bad checksum.

I downloaded and tried the published patch, but no problems occurred. I’d like to hear from others to find out if this is a problem specific to your environment.

I managed to fix this by adding a header AFTER patch (and making sure it had one to begin with.) I have never encountered such an odd error before, and it’s odd because it already had a header to begin with!

Okay! I’m currently on Chapter 10. I would say my biggest complaint with the hack so far is not so unusual for Thracia: there’s some random crit chance that you can’t really avoid here and there. I like the new characters as a remix for the game, and look forward to a replay.

I do dislike some of the changes made to get optional rewards. For instance, Chapter 5’s chest, in combination with the surprise Berserk and Friege pursuit time limit, cannot be obtained safely,
and Chapter 10’s southern house are impossible/highly improbable to get on non-casual modes. The Dracoknight miniboss (Dvorjack) now has incredible stats AND skills that, if they activate, you have no real chance against, and he will start targeting your party if you go that southern route: not even my prepromotes, if dropped off there, could deal with him alone (and you don’t have enough time to bring more than one safely). I think you could manage something with Patty+Sleep sword and maybe an arena-grinded and lucky Asbel, but that still requires about 2-4 dodges on her end.

all of chapter 5s chests can be obtained safely with efficient play. main issue is activating the lower pursuit too early by freeing Nanna.

personally had no major issue with Dvorjack. you have access to plenty of effective weapons to kill him. He just can’t be solo’d, and you shouldnt attempt to do so. you just need 1 unit dodgy or tanky eneugh to bait him, you can even capture him if you have brighton, Hicks or dragon Callion. he’s strong but its the generics that come after him that pose the real issue.

I’m on Chapter 9 right now and I have Halvan equipped with the Brave Axe (Hero’s Axe) down by the pond at the bottom right, but no matter where I wait the event doesn’t seem to trigger. Where an I supposed to wait?

Thank you for your feedback. I answer by quoting.

Now I’ve come to feel that it’s better to prevent this at least in normal mode. I’ll make the change in the next or later updates.

Currently, when they appear, the map expands downward. If you proceed along the wall outside, nothing should go wrong. Just be careful of his attacks with a range of 2. (Depending on your position, they may chase you around the outside. In that case, go to the top of the map.)

Experienced players, including myself, know when he will move and don’t find him difficult to deal with, but for those who aren’t, he may appear to attack randomly and be frightening. In the next update, I will add an event at the start of the 2nd turn that explains his way.

He always targets an isolated unit, so if you move one unit to away on the 1st turn, you can lure him out from the beginning. It can be a pain if he moves while you’re fighting other enemies, this might be a good strategy. You can also keep him at his initial position by never splitting up your units.

The area shown in the image below.

Since he can’t enter a cliff, the bottom left part (and the spring itself) don’t work. So you might see cases where it looks like nothing is happening even though it’s adjacent to the spring. I’ll expand the area in the next update.

Ah thanks, that’s why nothing was happening. Too bad i jist gave up and moved on…

Updated. I have fixed issues reported in this topic and elsewhere. More details of the update are listed on this page.

As a change affecting gameplay, the church in Chapter 15 will no longer allow you to complete the chapter until you have defeated Zail. Previously, if you visited the church on the 1st turn and completed the chapter, the priest would thank you, but nothing would actually be resolved, so the village might be destroyed by the bandits afterwards. This is why I made this change.

I am aware of an issue where certain proper nouns do not display in some English dialogue at the end of Chapter 7 when using Snes9X EX+ for Android. This occurs because the process that changes the displayed text based on the Names setting is not functioning correctly. This issue only occurs on Snes9X EX+ for Android and does not occur in the Windows versions of Snes9X and BSNES, so Snes9X EX+ for Android is presumed to have the problem, but it is difficult to investigate this issue as there are no verification tools available for the Android version (I tried modifying areas that seemed relevant, but it had no effect). Now I cannot guarantee compatibility with Snes9X EX+ for Android; you may continue using it, but please be aware that you may encounter strange behavior. And if you report any issues, please also specify which emulator you are using.

Updated. I have fixed some issues and added new features.

I added the function to mount or dismount a unit by pressing the Y button while the cursor is on the unit in the item arrangement screen during preparation.

More details of the update are listed on this page.

Any other ideas? I’m currently experiencing a similar issue where it’s just a black screen. I’ve checked the headers and the checksum?
