[FE5] [Complete] Fire Emblem: New Theory of Thracia 776

Thank you for your report. This loophole was provided because some players were frustrated by chapter 5, it was intended to avoid him. But it seems that some change is necessary because it makes no sense for the event if players feel no fear at all. Given the story, it was odd for him to come alone, so he should have brought others.

To be fair, Ishtore does have a movement star, so if you are very unlucky or don’t position Lifis properly, Ishtore can suddenly act twice and kill him. However, Lifis also has a movement star of his own, so on average, you will still be able to outrun him.

I think the fact that he has a movement star is also a problem. Players who unexpectedly get an ally killed by re-acting will only feel unreasonable and will not reflect on own operational error, which is unhealthy for a strategy game. The original (recommended an ironman run) was in part a game of enjoying such anomalies, but with turn-by-turn saving, players would simply start over from the previous turn, and it is thought that they would just find it a hassle. Ideally, Ishtore must not be able to catch up with the player’s units an indeterminate way.

Note that the above does not apply to Galzus in Chapter 6, as treated as should not be allowed to appear.

Updated. Thanks to the player who reported issues.

  • Proofread of the English dialogue in Chapter 1 (With help from @RNGSOMEONE).
  • Fixed a problem where the Deadlord would not run away after opening the door to the gladiatorial arena in Chapter 5.
  • Added enemy escape points in Chapter 5 (stairs near the ally’s starting location, 2 locations in the gladiatorial arena, 1 location at the bottom right of the map). This fixed an issue where they would make strange movements to escape.
  • Changed so that Chapter 5 Ishtore appears with 0 vigor stars in normal mode.
  • Changed so that Chapter 5 Ishtore appears with his subordinates.
  • Changed the acting algorithm after Sety’s retreat order in Chapter 6 (from staying in place to leaving when warriors of the Magi disappear from the map).
  • For the Chapter 9 Malloch Squad, they used to not act at all after getting into a fixed position, but now they will not move and attack if there is an enemy in range. This allows you to see that they have no intention of moving when you look at their range (thanks to Zane’s Guard AI display).
  • Corrected some dialogue that was difficult to understand in Chapter 17.
  • Corrected a typo in the English dialogue in Chapter 22.
  • Changed so that Miranda’s character ending changes when Nanna dies.
  • Fixed an issue where enemy’s weapon skill “Magic Shield” was not taken into account when an ally selected a target for a staff.
  • Removed the support effect for Olwen and Kempf from Leif because there was a problem with not counterattacking when facing an enemy.
  • Changed so that grants “Speed Preempt” to opponents in the arena in Maniac mode. If the opponent has a higher attack speed, start the battle with an attack from the opponent. This cannot be disabled with Nihil. It is the same as the FE4 arena gimmick.
  • Changed the normal skill “Prayer”, personal skill “Love”, and invincibility flag so that they do not have any effect in the arena. This is because your units no longer die in the arena (but even if Prayer is attached to Leif, he will die without being effective).
  • Fixed an issue where some of the skill names at the bottom were buggy when looking the skill list at the Guide after entering the arena.

And one last thing… Added 3 alternative units! Now all the units that became allies in the original work can join by some means. Here this romhack saw its true completion. However, there should still be many issues to be solved, such as fixing unknown embedded bugs and incorrect grammar. Please try it and give me your feedback.

How to join the 3 units
  • If Leif is captured by the enemy and taken out of the map in Chapter 1, the game will skip to Chapter 4 and Felgus and Karin will now appear at the beginning of Chapter 4 instead of Arthur and Phee.
  • When Leif visits the house of Sluef in Chapter 16A, if neither Kempf nor Ilios has joined, and neither of them are in the enemy army (are defeated), Sluef will join.
Changes and fixes related to alternative units
  • Added a dialogue when Karin is alive at the beginning of chapter 6.
  • Added a talk from Karin to Ilios in Chapter 16A.
  • Added a talk from Karin to Misha in Chapter 17A.
  • Added a dialogue when Misha is captured and Karin is alive at the end of Chapter 17A.
  • Added a talk from Sluef to Amalda in Chapter 19.
  • Changed the conditions for joining Femina in Chapter 21 (does not join when Phee or Karin is present).
  • Changed the person Sety talks to at the start of Chapter 23 so that if you skipped from Chapter 1 to Chapter 4, the village girl will appear instead of Karin.

Hello, I want to report something about the new alternative units added in the latest update.

Alternative units spoiler

After getting Leif captured in Chapter 1 and going directly to Chapter 4, I opened the door where Leif, Fergus, and Karin were inside. However, the portraits shown in the conversation are from Arthur and Phee.

Also, I want to ask if it’s correct if one of the chests should have a Fire tome, considering Arthur is not in the chapter.

Thank you for your report. The problem with portraits only occurred in English mode, there was a lack of confirmation. The chest should be changed as well. I will fix those in the next update.

Personally, I think the Fire tome should stay. Ch4’s mechanic is that up to 12 items between Leif and Lifis get put into chests, and the other 4 are fixed. The fixed fire tome being there for Arthur makes sense. However, in the event that Arthur doesn’t show up, you can still carry that tome and pass it on to Asbel later on.

Of course, I will make the Fire tome appear when Arthur appears. I plan to change the items served according to the people who appear. If you want the tome for Asbel, you can steal it from the person next to Dalsin.

Updated. Thanks to players who reported issues.

  • Corrected some of the English dialogue in Chapter 4.
  • Fixed the issue where the thief stopped moving after opening the chest in Chapter 18.
Changes and fixes related to alternative units
  • Fixed the portrait in the dialogue when opening Felgus and Karin’s room in Chapter 4.
  • Changed the item in random chests when Felgus and Karin appear in Chapter 4 from Fire to Iron Blade.
  • Changed so that a person who looks like Asaello will now appear as an enemy at the start of Chapter 19 even if Daisy is not present. It was strange that the enemy deployment changed depending on whether ally unit Daisy was present or not.

Updated. Thanks to the player who reported issues.

Fix:

  • Corrected a page break error in the English dialogue in the talk conversation from Mareeta to Eyvel in Chapter 25 (If Beld has already been defeated).
  • Fixed an issue where the opponent’s attack power was not halved when under attack from a distance where they could not counterattack, even if they were equipped with the Loptr Sword.
  • Changed the class name from Master Arch to Oliphantier. When the item name and class name are the same, players would be confused more than I imagined, so I separated them.
  • Similarly, for units whose unit names were set to Iron Arch or Master Arch, the unit names changed to Freege Army or Manster Army.
  • Fixed an issue where units with “magic up” state were not targeted by Again staff. Because “magic up” is changed to be treated as an abnormal state, it was caught in the judgment.

New feature:

  • Added the talk from Asbel to Sety in Chapter 23. Gives a new item. (The dialogue changes depending on whether Asbel was promoted or not.)
  • Changed so that some units can use specific sacred weapons with weapon level S + skill “Elite”. I won’t specifically explain this, but I think it will happen as you imagine it. It wasn’t funny if it didn’t do what you imagined from the skill description, so I tried to make it funnier.

You are able to capture Saias in Chp 17A with a flier or unit with the wing ring but I wonder if capturing but not releasing him will make him be absent in Chp 22

Since I did not think it was possible, doing it would not produce any change. If it is possible, I may need to think something about it.

I’ll continue playing and see what happens

No way Super Thracia reference!!!

Something like this could happen in Chp 17A where you capture Saias but the moment his leaving turn ends and he leaves with Ishtar, he will apparently leave the unit holding him and pushes them one tile up.

Furthermore, not releasing him will just glitch the game out in general probably due to him technically still being on the map but hasn’t left yet. I’m fine with keeping Saias as a capturable unit in Chp 17A if the player knows how to use their resources well but it definitely needs fixing for the time being

I believe something isn’t working as intended in a specific chapter. I will put it in the spoiler tag because it may be related to the recently added alternative units.

Spoiler

I couldn’t play Chapter 4x, despite freeing all citizens. I made sure they didn’t get captured by the enemy, and Brighton is alive.
Could it be related to having Leif captured in order to advance to Chapter 4 immediately? This hasn’t happened in my previous playthroughs with this hack, so probably Leif getting captured might affect the requirements to play Chapter 4x.

Thank you for your reports.

You’re right. I’ll add event for this case it can handle appropriately.

I forgot to refer to the citizen’s unit ID in the condition processing to proceed to chapter 4x. Your case is not properly flagged because the unit ID has changed. I’ll fix it.

I don’t remember referencing Super Thracia, where did you get that feeling?

Updated. Fixed the two pointed things. This is a placeholder and I will probably put something else in the future.

Update Details:

  • As a temporary measure, changed not to determine the departure of citizens if you have not gone through Chapter 2. I will change to properly determine the changed unit ID of the citizens in the next update.
  • Added event processing for Saias is defeated or captured in Chapter 17.
  • Fixed Bragi Sword so that those who should be able to equip it could. Because I did not take it into account at all, none of the recently added units could use it.
