Buff Skills

I’d have to use the rally bits for that since they only last a turn.

At the start of your turn, perform a random rally on yourself.

Ok, so a side note here…Hone Mov is way too strong…for a skill that doesn’t require a unit to waste a turn, +3 Mov is way too much…it blows Rally Mov out the water in every sense. Outside of that, the seeing the skills in the text page is soo satisfying, well done.

EDIT: actually, most of the Mov skills here are a bit overtuned

EDIT2: So is Eternal Vanity off the list?

@Someone thanks so much! Loving all the icons you’ve made. I added you to the SkillSys credits, too.

yeah I’d like to include this. Just need an icon for Eternal Vanity and Shrewd Potential.

And, as a bonus, Heavy/Dancing Blade Icons (since they don’t have one):

So many replies I doubt I’ll come up with new ideas, but I can try anyway:

  • Envious: After striking an enemy, take the enemy’s buffs for yourself (yes, buffing after attacking is kinda strange)
  • Won’t Fall Behind: At the start of your turn, inherit the buffs of a random adjascent ally.

…I don’t even know if these are possible in romhacking haha.

I also made my own Icons for Dancing Blade and Heavy Blade. I tried to base them more on the Fates icons

Thanks! I used your icons since I’ve used Someone’s for everything else.

So it turned out the way I was doing my turn loop was causing a few frames of lag for each function added to it. This ended up being about 12 frames of lag every phase switch even if nobody has any relevant skills! 0.2 seconds timewaste is unacceptable, so I spent the past couple days rewriting the whole thing. :pensive:

It now costs about 1 frame if no animations play.

Now of course actually playing animations intentionally takes up frames, lol, but the timewaste is enjoyable I hope!

I’m now looking for some more ideas for an end of turn calc loop, as right now it’s just Hoarder’s Bane.

Oooh, it looks really nice with how quickly they all occur.

Ah, I just remembered that there is that ‘Rally Heart’ skill from Awakening if you wanted to fill out Rally skills more, in Awakening it adds +1 move and +2 to everything else and does indeed stack with Rally Spectrum and the other individual rally skills.

Can’t really think of any possible things that’d work like Hoarder’s Bane though.

After thinking about it, the best I could come up with is a skill that automatically shoves adjacent units at the end of your turn.

no I just meant other skills that heal you at the end of the turn instead of the start of the turn. Nothing special lol

Then… a skill that heals proportionally to the amount of enemies nearby?

Did more testing, added two more skills, and made a pull request.

Need icons for these:

Dark Bargain: At the end of your turn, sacrifice extra exp to heal by that much.

Soul Sap: At the end of your turn, drain up to 10% health from every unit within two tiles.

A few questions:
Does the first one make it so you level down? Or does it not go below 0? And how much exp is drained at a time?
And does the second one imply it drains HP from your allies too?

Nope.
If exp is greater than 0, restore that as health.
When you hit full health, stop spending exp.
Eg.
99 exp, 21/26 hp.
End of turn → 94 exp, 26/26 hp.

Yes

Aight. Here:

Can Soul Sap kill one of your allies?

No, it leaves units at 1 hp.

Been keeping track of this for awhile now and i gotta ask if the skills made here have all been uploaded to the latest version of the skills patch

Atleast the ones made at an earlier time

I made a pull request 2 days ago which means it might get merged to the github skillsys in the next week or so. If you want to try out any skills in the buildfile, you can do so by downloading this:

The febuilder patch gets updated about once a year (some minor bugfixes occur more often so it looks more frequent), so no idea when it will reach febuilder.
