I am gonna splice from him for a myrm.
It’s been almost two weeks since my last portrait. Guess I still take quite a bit of time at making these. But fortunately everything should get better.
Anyways, here’s the next character portraits I made. I’m glad I was able to make them before August ended. This time they’re the protagonists that debuted in the same game, but their designs here are based on how they looked in separate adventures. That said mentioned game: Resident Evil 2.
I’m pretty sure Resident Evil is one of the only horror game franchises from which I have played most of its entries, and my story with it goes as far back since the very first RE I played was RE4 on the GameCube, back when I was a kid and wasn’t even 7 years old lol. Needless to say, I didn’t manage to get past most of it since the game gave me a good couple scares, with me quitting right after the Plagas came out from the villagers for the first time, but years later I managed to beat it alongside other RE games.
If all goes well, the two next portraits will be from different games: one will be from another horror game (with less action elements than RE) that was also made by Capcom in the same year RE4 released, and the another will finally be one from a Fire Emblem game.
The portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises - Capcom section.
Resident Evil 4 - Leon S. Kennedy
Jacket alt
Full color alts
One of the most recognizable appearances for Leon, and also my most favorite RE character. Shame he loses his cool and coozy jacket very early on in the game. His hair was fun, but also a bit tricky to do. Something tells me this one felt better to do thanks to already having done a good amount of these ones in the past. His shirt was also very simple to do, so what I ended up focusing a bit more was in his pose. The jacket also turned out decent, only thing that felt weak was the collar in the neck area, but overall this was a character portrait that turned out good.
The hair ends up only having one real color due to the rest being skin tones, although leaving him with a white and blue color for his eyes (sclera and pupils) ends up leaving him with 8 colors overall without counting the clothes colors and the border and bg ones. With that I could try leaving him with two blue tones, but for now I’ll leave him like this.
Something to note is that if you want to splice this character I recomnend grabbing the full color alts, since what I did for this character was using his skin tones for a lot of parts of the portrait, like the aforementioned hair.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Claire Redfield
Full color alt
The outfit that I think ended up being the main one for Claire in most of the stories she appears in. I’m pretty sure her hair is supposed to be less red than how it looks here, but I decided to leave it like that so it would look more colorful and distinct. It also helps at mixing with the jacket colors since they end up being too similar, and thus freeing more space for the eyes colors and the white shirt ones. I do feel that I made her head a bit too thin, so maybe that’s something that’ll change if I improve her portrait, alongside changing her eyes.
Surprisingly many zombie referencesin the last days xD. Maby @CristianX1 could use those for his hack
My favorite part of glass.exe was when leon kennedy appeared then went to “Speed zone”
Then he gets the tails treatment
And after glass kills kennedy he appears infront of the screen with HYPER REALISTIC BLOOD ON HIS EYES! Then he wrote
“I AM GLASS”
IN HYPEREALISTIC BLOOD-
Oh okay. Also, you know that you can edit your post if you want to add more instead of putting different ones if nobody else has commented after you, right?
Yuh but i like it that way
Feels more chatroomy
Please do not do this. It isn’t an official rule because sometimes double posting really does serve a purpose, but making extra posts just for stream-of-consciousness (in someone else’s thread, no less) creates pointless clutter and distracts from the actual gallery here.
No new portraits for today, it’s just that I just realized that my Gardevoir portraits had a bit of a slight error in the mouth frames, so I went and fixed them.
Fixed Gardevoir portraits
Here’s also the DropBox link if you want to download all of the Gardevoir portraits at once.
Alright, after two weeks I managed to make more portraits. I do plan getting to put 5 or more before this month ends, but we’ll see. At least not only one of these was done like almost a year ago, but I’ve been working on more characters so that I’m able to post more of them. What I have planned for October is do something that Garytop did previous year’s October, and that is make portraits of villain characters, and specifically for me ones from games that were released in 2005 (hope it doesn’t end up being awkward if he does it again this year).
Of the two characters I made, one of them’s pretty much my second actual FE character portrait I did, right after I did Nanna in a CCC I participated in. I’ll have to remind myself to post my thought write up about her. Anyways, I did Elincia since I wanted to make a portrait of a character that was important/well known in FE9, yet at the same time one that wasn’t done many times in the past (Ike being really obvious). Maybe I should’ve went with Mia instead, since I don’t feel like there a lot of portraits of her, but since I did find Elincia a more relatable character, I went and made a portrait of her.
The other character on the other hand is one from a more obscure game, which is Haunting Ground. Basically a spiritual sequel to the Clock Tower games, of which this installment was made by Capcom, in the same year RE4 was released (yeah, it’s no wonder how well known Haunting Ground ended up being). While both are survival horror games, I would argue that HG is more scarier than RE4, due to having less action elements, less funny dialogues (and more that are creepy instead), having more focus in getting away from the enemies, and having a much more sensitive theme in the story. Overall, it should be a fun experience, if you like horror games and if you’re able to find the game (another thing to contrast it with RE4 lol). I wonder if it’s a coincidence that this is my fourth Capcom portrait so far.
The portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises - Capcom section.
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance - Elincia
Princess clothes alt
Full color alts
One of the main characters in FE9, up to the point that her death results in a game over, just like with Ike. Her hair was definitely the part that took the most time for me, since it was pretty big and I had to detail a lot of it. Something tells me that I ended up making it too big due to later running with some issues at the hackbox lenght. I did her portrait based on her FE9 one, but it goes to show how much I have yet to learn since it did end up looking a bit different. Other than that, her outfits were more easier to do, especially her princess clothes one. If I revisit her portrait, I’ll end up changing her pose directiom and hair size, and also maybe try at giving her 4 hair tones instead of just three, but we’ll see.
Haunting Ground - Fiona Belli
Scared/Panic mode alt
Full color alts
The main protagonist of Haunting Ground. Since the game has a good amount of medieval imagery (Fiona herself states how her outfit looks like one from that time), I guess she could easily fit in a FE romhack, like having her as a villager you have to protect, or could also work as a troubadour. Her hair was a bit elaborate to make, due to being a very pale shade of blonde that couldn’t fit any skin tones, compared to all of the characters I did that have blonde hair, but the saving grace is that her hair isn’t long at all. And despite her outfit looking like a well made medieval dress, it was also easy to do. I did check at putting the choker she has in her official arts instead of the one she had in a reference image I took of a game cutscene, since in-game she can equip chokers that come with different effects, alongside earrings and boots (this one obviously won’t appear here). If I revisit her portrait, maybe her eyes and part of her hair will be improved on, since otherwise this one was easy to make, and also turned to be very color palette friendly (4 hair tones used for the clothes, and 3 blue tones for her eyes and choker jewel).
No Hewie? ![]()
Damn, I forgor. I’ll see If I’m able to make one soon, but we’ll see.
Oooh, Elincia, Interesting
Man, the heat today isn’t really doing any favors at motivating me to do most stuff, especially after sleeping very late yesterday due to a party we had, but today I decided to put a portrait for the main character CCC.
I haven’t really done much work at making a romhack due to lacking the time and effort at doing one, and also wanting to check all of the boxes I have to make so that it ends up the best as I can do it. But at the very least I can share some details of these, and that is that for the most part they take place in a medieval version of a fanfiction story I’ve planned for several years (one of these still takes place in ancient times in the main counterpart). They would basically be the stories I have in mind, except they take place in less modern times and are played like a FE story. The other thing I can share about them is that they qualify for the weird crossover type of story due to having Pokemon and PVZ characters as prominent figures. And one of these characters is a PVZ OC.
One thing to note is that for the next days my portrait output will increase quite a bit, so expect a bunch of new characters from me this week.
While this is a character from the PVZ franchise, I decided that any complete OC’s I make will be put into a different section, separate from the actual franchises they’re from, mainly any characters I specifically make for any romhacks of mine. As such, this portrait will be located above in the Other/OC/Misc section.
PVZ OC - Elaine
One of my PVZ OC’s that I’ve made since several years ago, who is a Fire Flower and inspired by PVZH’s Solar Flare, while also not really being the same character. Her portrait was very simple to make, although due to being small her torso doesn’t show up too much, therefore making alts with clothes/armor a bit more difficult to make clearly (this might be a problem I’ll run into when making more PVZ plants characters). Due to her not having too much colors, I decided to not make any alts with less colors, although some clothes alts would be easy to make since they can cover the torso/arms parts of her portrait, which uses colors not present in other parts. If/when I revisit her portrait if I end up making a romhack, I’ll probably improve her petals so that they look better drawn in the whole portrait.

Ninja alt suggested by @WiiSportsRemote
Didn’t realize how quick this next portrait was to make until I ended up doing it. Maybe it helps that this time around I didn’t end up making any alts at all (full color version, different clothes/expressions and others). Still, compared to even some of the non human portraits I did, this one was a bit more different to make. At least it helps that I already did characters similar to this one. I’ll have to thank @tea for suggesting me to make Hewie’s portrait.
Anyways, as a teaser of the next portraits I’ll be releasing in the next few days, check what game came out in September 22th of 2005, and see what other game came out two days before it, one that also got released by the same publisher. The latter game will be the one where I first end up releasing portraits of, and after those the next one will be the former.
The portrait will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises - Capcom section.
Haunting Ground - Hewie
Fiona’s dog companion throughout the game, and a very helpful ally if you treat him well. It’s also implied that this is also the same dog that helps Leon in an early boss fight in RE4, so that’s also cool. Compared to some other canine characters I did in the past, even to P3’s Koromaru, this one ended up a bit more on the realistic side, mainly at how I did his fur. Other than that, this one was very simple to make, with the only things to note would be that if I revisit his portrait, I would check his ears again, and I’m not 100% satisfied with his mouth frames, so they might end up being checked again later.
Alright, today’s September 20th, so I’ll be releasing two new portraits. This time they’re characters that are much more well known worldwide than the previous characters from this month. It took a bit too long at making the second one, but other than that, at least I was able to get these done today, especially the later one, since I almost did his portrait as fast as Hewie’s. Since I was just able to get them done tho, I’ll be releasing alts of these two later, probably tomorrow.
I guess I’m going to be real here. I’m quite a bit of an fan for comic stories and characters, mainly the Marvel ones. I say so since ever since I was a kid I have gotten to see and get a bunch Marvel merchandise. I did watch a good amount of Marvel movies, as well as played many games that had Marvel in it. X-Men Legends 2 is one of those games, which is a game that just turned 20 here today.
It’s mainly a beat em’ up game with RPG elements, kind of like the Gauntlet games. Most of the character designs either take from the original Ultimate X-Men appearances, or have their main counterpart ones, the Age of Apocalypse designs, or outright had new outfits, while in story and characterization they’re more like the main one. If you checked the full title, you’d already know who the main villain is from the get go. And if I was able to, I might make a romhack with some X-Men characters, inspired by these games, but who knows, we’ll see
. After these characters, heavily expect to see more Marvel character portraits.
IIRC, both of these designs did appear in the comics, but for now, I’ll be putting them in the other videogame franchises, so the portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises - Marvel section.
X-Men Legends 2 - Ult. Wolverine
Full color alt
The original Ultimate version of one of comics’ most known characters, and the most popular X-Man by far. Despite actual Ultimate Wolverine being more taller than the main one, his height was based on male FE characters that aren’t really tall (like FE7’s Jan), so therefore he has his main counterpart height, since the XML games did make him smaller than even Storm (it also helps that Main Wolverine actually wore his Ultimate counterpart’s costume at one point). He still has some quite big muscles despite being smaller, so he almosts reaches the far edges of the portrait without having any big clothes.
This costume specifically is a slight redesign from his XML1 one, which also replaced another costume Logan had. One thing I did with him is that his third hair color is just the border one, to accomodate the rest of his portrait’s color palette, although thankfully his outfit doesn’t also use a varied amount of colors, alongside it being pretty easy to make. If I revisited his portrait, I would maybe improve a bit parts of his hair, but otherwise this one went pretty good.
X-Men Legends 2 - Ult. Magneto
Full color alt
The Ultimate counterpart of one of X-Men’s most iconic antagonists, although his personality and story, alongside all other characters, in the XML games goes more in line with his main universe one. What’s funny about this fit for Magneto tho is that he only has this appearance in the game’s cutscenes, not in actual gameplay (or pretty much any other art, like the cover art, for that matter), where he instead uses his XML outfit instead. I do like this one more imo, since it’s more closer to his original outfit while also being distinct in color palette, and being more detailed overall. Despite this outfit being overall darker than his main, more well known one, it actually has more colors than that one, but fortunately I was able to figure out its color scheme by taking advantage of his two remaining hair colors, and use them in most parts of it.
If I end up wanting to update his portrait, I’ll have to improve parts of his armour and costume so they look better, but just like with Logan, his portrait ended up looking great, and I’m glad at how his helmet turned out. If any of you want it, here it is.
It’s September 22th, and today I’ll be releasing portraits conmemorating the 20th anniversary of yet another game, and another Marvel game too. Unlike with XML2 tho, where a good amount of games did get released the same date as that one, there was only one game released on 09/22/05, which is the Ultimate Spider-Man game.
Unlike with the X-Men Legends games, where the designs from the Ultimate series were the only thing taken for these games, the USM game actually has a story that takes place in an universe similar to the Ultimate one. At one point it was even considered canon to them, but later on it became non-canon after they ended up remaking this storyline in the comics. Suffice to say, I like the game’s story more.
I’m pretty sure this was the very first Spider-Man game I’ve played in my life, or if not, it’s at least one of the first ones, along with the 1st Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie game. It pretty much influenced my preferences and liking towards the two main characters in that game. And it, along with the Spider-Man 2 game, ended up influencing the gameplay of the main Spider-Man games and how they would be done.
The portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises - Marvel section.
Ultimate Spider-Man - Ultimate Spider-Man
Wrestling alt
Black Suit
No white symbol alt
Uncontrolled/Issue 129 eyes alts
Tendrils alts
Full color alts
The Ultimate variant of one of comics’ standout superheroes. Despite this portrait being made for the 20th anniversary of the USM game, this design is actually based on the one from the Shattered Dimensions game, due to me not wanting the more cartoony build of Spidey contrast with other characters with normal FE humanoid builds.
The first outfit I made of him was the Black Suit one, without the white spider symbol that would latter be added onto him. That alt. appearance and the ones with the venom like eyes are pretty much small references to certain panels/scenes in the comics. Then after that I did the wrestling suit one, which is basically the red and blue suit without the actual web design and spider symbol. The web design in the main suit was colored in the same way his outfit was in the MvC games, since early on I noticed it would look better that way. In a way, the main suit is actually a mix of the USM game and comics design, alongside the SD and MvC ones. The tendrils alt is available even on the red and blue suit, as a reference to how Ult. Spidey can equip this outfit in SD while still having symbiote powers. If I revisit this portrait, I would try at making a better attempt on the web design of the red suit, and shading the tendrils a bit differently, since otherwise this one came out really well.
If you want to download all of the Ultimate Spider-Man portraits, here’s a Dropbox link to get them all.
Well, it’s October now, and that means the time for Halloween has begun. For this month, all of the new portraits I release will be of villain characters, with their respective franchises being mainly ones where I already made portraits of the main characters.
I gotta be honest tho, I think I may have delayed the portraits I was going to do, since I was a bit busy this week, alongside getting myself sidetracked into doing other activities. But if all goes well, I’ll be able to do all the portraits I have planned for this month. The first portrait is one that imo I ended up struggling to do and planned to do, alongside being one that doesn’t actually have the same theme shared by the rest of the characters I’ll do.
The portrait will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Non-Videogame Franchises - Sonic Cinematic Universe section.
Sonic The Hedgehog 4 (2027) - Metal Sonic
Full color alt
The live action version of Sonic’s robotic doppelganger, who so far is the most accurate to his game counterpart, appearance wise. His portrait was a bit more difficult to do than Sonic’s, due to having a different design and color palette (shine for the head alongside the lines added on for the movie design, yellow for the ears and chest, and some parts having a different size due to being more similar to the game counterpart), not having a very clear reference to get most of the important details in unlike with Amy, and overall due to me making more characters that are organic or don’t weat a suit of armor, so this one was a bit of a learning curve for me. But in the end I was able to get most of the important parts done well, and if I end up redoing it, maybe it will be once the 4th Sonic movie comes out.
Sonic: So now we can get down to the real fight. The last Sonic standing will be the winner!
Metal Sonic: “Robotic noises”
Sonic: What!? This world isn’t big enough for both of us and one of us has to go?
Metal Sonic: “Affirming robotic noises”
Sonic: Well, I agree!
