AlemOwl's image compendium

Did an art trade recently with @WiiSportsRemote where we each made a portrait requested by one another. Since they’re fine with the portrait I did being F2U/F2E, I decided to give it a minimug and frames as well.

Idk much about the SaGa series, other than the games being made by the same developer that game the Final Fantasy series (Square Enix), up to the point that the first three games of the SaGa series were originally released worldwide as FF entries lol. Still tho, the games look cool and interesting from what I saw so far, especially Romancing SaGa 2, which is basically like FE4, except way more exaggerated in regards to the generations mechanics of the game, since instead of just giving one time skip of almost two decades once you reach half of the game, it gives more of those that are at least one century worth each once you progress past certain points in the story, changing much of the units you use and how the world looks as you progress, doing it a good amount of times until you reach the era of the final emperor, who basically becomes the last and true protagonist of the game. Even better since this game was given a full on 3D remake last year for those who are interested.

As such tho, this is the first time I’ve drawn a character from the SaGa series, and gotta say that it came pretty well on my part. Maybe once I release a few more portraits, including finishing at making the whole Persona 3 cast, I’ll end up making more portraits that are from other games or other things like movies that I didn’t do before. Some of them will be from games or other things that have released in either 2005 or 2015, to celebrate their 10th or 20th anniversary (as for why those years specifically and not more like 1995, is because I’m pretty much a Gen Z guy).

The portraits will be located in the post above on the section of F2E - Other Videogame Franchises (Romancing SaGa - Aisha)

Romancing SaGa - Aisha

Full Colors version (Tactile/Lex Talionis only)

A portrait I made as part of an art trade, with her design of the og Romancing SaGa specifically. It may not look like it, but this character has somewhat of a tricky design, what with having a good amount of colors, using various tones of orange, yellow, green, white, and a bit of black and pink, alongside a complicated hair design, but somehow I managed to pull through and be able to make it. What I did for the colors was ramp up most of them so that they could still be used in the portrait, like the darkest shade of green being one of two tones for the black colors, the brightest whites being the brightest skin color, replacing a tone of yellow with the 2nd hair tone, and pretty much replacing the pink colors with the 3rd and 4th skin tones. Her hair was I would say the hardest thing to do since it was really big and with a good amount of ponytails, but thankfully enough I manage to do it well enough while still being able to fit in a hackbox normally. If I were to revisit her portrait, I would try and redo the ponytails since they were the less elaborated part of the portrait as a whole.

And here’s a teaser for what might come by March 18th at least.

Personally, i prefer the 2D steam/mobile vers as the character designs/graphics are truer to the original. it’s a shame that the steam/mobile vers looks kinda cheap but there’s no fantranslation of the original due to the steam/mobile vers coming out. I highly reccomend Romancing SaGa 2, as it’s a pretty good timesink game with plenty of fun stuff to do ingame. The Generation system is pretty novel as well, requiring certain events to happen to make generations pass. Bossfights can get pretty silly too.

Well, today’s March 19th, and the fourth Sonic Movie has been released in theaters… Is what I would say if the year we’re on was 2027, but we’re on 2025, so that’s gonna be two years until then. Still, to conmemorate the wait getting shorter I decided to release some portraits of one of the characters getting properly introduced there. Fun fact, I started this portrait when I finished the sketch right in January 19th, almost two months and on the same day too! (Although I’m not sure if its exactly two months, since February doesn’t even have at least 30 days at all). I was also going to do Metal Sonic’s portrait, but since I wasn’t too convinced at how it ended up, that one’s going to be done a bit later.

Other than that, I’ll have to see which other portraits I do next, either anything that I like doing, resume and finish the P3 characters into GBA project I had in mind, or start other series of portraits I have in mind (like the 2005/2015 character portraits).

The portraits will be shown on the updated post on the section of F2E - Non-Videogame Franchises - Sonic Cinematic Universe.

FE6-7 color alts (that's right, I went crazy instead of lazy for this character in particular lol)

The spunky and cheerful pink haired girl hedgehog from the Sonic franchise, the movie version that is interpreted by [Unknown VA, will change once they announce who will be]. I spend a good amount of time making her portrait so that it would come out well, and it shows. The most difficult part of her head for the portraits (aside from the eyes like how it also turned out with the previous Sonic characters) would be her tuft of hair above her head, I would say, but it wasn’t very hard to figure out how to draw it. The first outfit I made was the one where she has the cloak and cape, with her head uncovered. After that I did her alt with the hammer, which I bet was thankfully able to be made thanks to her not being too big for the hammer to not be able to fit in the portrait. Then after that I did an alt where she wears an outfit that resembles the one she has in the games since Sonic Adventure, which was done for two reasons: one, since via a concept art of the third movie shows her with this outfit, so I did it in case in the next movie it does turn out she ends up wearing it, and two, so that people could have a portrait of the movie version of Amy with the outfit of her main counterpart instead of the other one. After that I did a hooded alt of her other outfit. As for the colors used for her normal variants, since she has a good amount of colors (including the ones used in her hand and hammer if you count those) the main challenge of this portrait was to see how to fit each one while not losing too much detail. By the end, the result was the cape sharing colors with her two darkest skin tones, two green tones for her eyes that could be replaced by a 2nd hood shade and a 6th skin tone in her hooded alt, her 3rd hair tone being made a bit red to fit as a color tone for some of her clothes, and her lightest skin tone made being a bit clearer, which, while making her skin shades a bit more pale than usual, at least helped giving a good color for other parts of any of her portraits, mainly her eyes and glove. If I could tho, I wish I had another tone of yellow for her hammer, since her skin tones make it a bit hard to give it more convincing tones of yellow. Other than that tho, this character went much better than expected, and maybe I’ll only revisit her portrait if she ends up having a different outfit or appearance in the fourth movie.

Here’s a DropBox link to download all her portraits at once if you want them.

Well, it’s been more than a month since, so guess I’ll post some portraits of a character I did this month, so I have something posted in April.

After thinking it more, I decided to postpone my P3 character portraits project indefinitely, maybe I’ll get them done for next year, but it was done mainly since I wanted to focus on making portraits of other characters that weren’t just from one game.

Now this next remade portrait I did, which is another Pokemon portrait like the ones I did previously, is of one that’s mainly my favorite starter from the Gen VIII games. Not counting most of the controversies regarding that generation of Pokemon (cut dex, low graphical quality, underperformance of the main games, and some other things) I do remember the final stage evo of this pokemon being quite disliked. Maybe it still isn’t really the most liked one, but nowadays I do feel like there are more supporters of this one than there were in the past.

Maybe the reason that this is my favorite starter from Gen VIII ever since it was released was because of the three starters it’s the most I relate to. At first it starts as timid and scared, just like I was when I was a kid and confronted by things I was scared of or being yelled at by others, then it grows to be more apathetic and lazy, which while I’m wasn’t really that apathetic, I still ended up stopping at actively pursuing social reunions and more friendships, and finally it becomes more badass, open and confident at the things it does (while still having that hint of being lazy), of which I feel that currently I’m becoming more of that, ever since last year.

Still, it can be hard when people do actively dislike your tastes, but as long as it isn’t something that’s really bad or controversial, I do still maintain that sometimes insulting something isn’t the right way to express your opinions. And if you get called out because what you did or express was really that bad, well, there’s no other way but to learn from it and try to never do that again (emphasis on “try”. It can be done gradually). And when you’re the one to call someone out, if you see that they did indeed improve and actively begun to change their inmoral ways, then it’s better to stop pestering them over their previous grievances. No one is perfect after all.

That last bit was something to get out of my system, something that’s been bothering me ever since this year started, and I don’t really want that to force me to leave this place, even stopping from just posting art here like always. It’s something that influenced at doing my FE art more slowly, even tho I don’t have a job or another occupation. If anything, even if I’m not really that bad of a person, know that every mistake I made, or I learn from it, or I regret it. Honest.

If all goes well tho, next character’s going to be the start of characters and/or designs of ones introduced in 2005 and other similar years.

The final stage of Gen VIII’s water starter. This new attempt makes better use of the colors used in its appearance, alongside being more well drawn overall. I found out later when doing the halfbody that the normal hackbox variant was going to make it look a bit small, so maybe later I’ll do an alt that uses the extend mug patch and makes it taller, otherwise I’ll leave it like it is. I"ll say that I’m proud of how I managed to make the mouth frames, since they end up reaching the far horizontal edges of those, almost to the point of not fully fitting in. It does overlap a bit with the eye frames, but at this point it’s no big deal. Although it ended up making me give it two tones of pink when it opens its mouth, since I didn’t really like it using the skin tones for the mouth frames.
One thing to note is that the normal and shiny variants do change quite a bit regarding the way the colors are used in the normal versions, since the shiny variant still retains its yellow eyes from the normal Inteleon variant, but thanks to it changing the yellow tones to sort of a magenta/ red-pink one, this allowed me to replace the colors used in the mouth frames so it uses the same colors, and ironically enough, it allows for more colors in the eyes.
Only in the halfbody version do you get to see how I did the shading for the cape, which did came out pretty well, and here there’s some other colors not present in the above part, since Inteleon isn’t a pokemon with a really simple color palette (then again, there are other pokemon that are more worse in that part).
I also made alts of it with the lenses like membranes in its eyes when fighting and it being invisible, which are things made present in the anime, since they were very simple to do.
Overall, I really did end up liking how this one went.

Here’s a DropBox link if you want to download all of the Inteleon portraits.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I celebrated Mother’s day here where I live. If you had it, or today you’re celebrating it, then I wish you a happy Mother’s day. Give thanks to the one that brought to this world, since otherwise you wouldn’t be here today.

I’m in a pretty good mood now, so I find it fitting to put portraits of a character now. While it might be a little bit late, since not only the DMC Netflix series released a few months ago, but DMC3 just had its 20th anniversary a while ago too, I did these portraits mainly since my brother started playing the games this year’s March. And since DMC3 released in 2005, I find it great to start my 2005 character portraits mini project with Dante.

The iconic jokester and cool demon hunter from the Devil May Cry series, and one of the Hack and Slash genre’s staples. Most of his outfits are pretty simple when it comes to color distribution, and this one is one of the more simpler ones, thanks to having just red for the coat, and brown and yellow/white for the leather and steel parts, which can easily use skin tones. This enables me to not only give him 4 hair tones + hair shine, but also give him a light blue color for his eyes. What wasn’t so simple tho was actually making his coat, since I wanted to make it based on how his in game model looks, and sometimes it was a bit hard to read. At least it gave his coat a pretty cool shading, where the lightest red tone worked as shine for his outfit.
I did two variants of his Rebellion sword, since in DMC3 it has two designs, one being the initial dormant phase, and the other being the permanent awakened one.
If I end up revisiting him, I’ll mainly redo parts of his coat, and maybe give him more outfit alts too.

Hey everyone. I’ve been a bit slow in regards to posting more here, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t left making pixel art yet.

As always, some of the character portraits here were made to conmemorate the 20th anniversary of the game they appeared in, even tho not only did they actually debut much earlier, but it has passed some time since that anniversary, so welp. I promise I won’t be that bad regarding this for next characters portraits lol.

And as of posting this, the day of tomorrow will begin the events of the summer game fest, so depending on what’s shown there I might post a portrait of a certain character there or not.

The portraits will be uploaded above in the main post, under the F2E - Pokemon - Gen III section.

Pokemon Gen III - Ralts

Doing the portrait of this critter was pretty simple to do, mainly since it’s one of the more smaller characters I did so far. To make it a bit more unique from how it’s drawn normally, I decided to make it look upwards so that its eyes could be clearly seen, although from how I drawn it that made it so that part of the eyes frames were a bit more difficult to do. If I were to revisit this portrait, I would improve on that aspect alongside shading the red head horn a bit differently.
Pokemon Gen III - Kirlia

Halfbody alt

The second phase of the Ralts line. While this one took a bit more than the Ralts one, it still was overall a bit simple. If you check this portrait’s height from the normal variant to the Ralts one you’ll see that the Ralts one is more or less a bit taller than this one, but not only this mostly happened because the Kirlia portrait was made first as a halfbody, but I would argue that Ralts looking up does make it feel taller than it actually is. If I end up redoing this portrait, maybe I’ll improve the eye and the horns shading on the head, and also improving the skirt like part of its body in the halfbody section, since I feel like it doesn’t look as well when mirrored.

One reason I ended up taking a bit longer at posting anything here too was because I ended up making recolors of these two, so there’s that lol. At the very least I’ll be able to use most of these same colors when I end up doing the rest of the Ralts line. You can check them out here.

Well, yesterday the Xbox Games Showcase event has been presented, and one of the games to be revealed was the remake of Persona 4: Persona 4 Revival. Ngl, it’s pretty cool that there was indeed a remake being done even tho it didn’t reveal all that much, even when compared to the first trailer of P3R. Anyways, since the remake has been officially announced, I’m inclined to put a portrait of the game’s protagonist that was made a while ago, in case of something like this. Maybe once some time has passed and there’s more things shown about P4R I’ll make some variants of this portrait.

The portraits will be uploaded above in the main post, under F2E - Persona 4 - Investigation Team section.

Persona 4 - Yu Narukami

The protagonist of P4. His hair color was sort of a mix between his hair color in most Persona arts of him, and his hair color in the persona fighting games, since there it sort of has a more blue-ish tone to his hair. One of the more trickier parts was the one between the eyes and the hair, since the hair covers a bit of his front, but not enough to completely cover his eyes, so I had to make it so that his covered his eyebrows and also not give him a sort of blank expression.
I would also maybe make parts of his clothing a bit more bigger and improve his glasses alt, but other than that, I actually really like how his outfit ended up looking, even more so since most of its colors were able to mix in with his hair color.

Hey everyone, it feels kind of hot, isn’t it? Since we’re in the middle of the summer.

Anyways, it’s been a bit of time since I posted more portraits. I would say it’s because I’ve been working quite a lot on making the portraits of a certain character, as in, not just doing recolors like what I’ve done with most of these characters (mainly the Pokemon ones) but making a ton of expressions and outfits for them, and thanks to focusing on that, I haven’t had the idea or time to put other portraits in between for now. For those that have checked the Discord server might have an idea of who it is, but for now, I’ll say that it’ll be ten days till I post the portraits of that character.

Well, now that that character’s portraits are done for the most part, I guess I’ll be able to post a few more until then. I have focused on finishing the Ralts line, and especially redoing these ones since these portraits were some of the very first I did for quite a while, and now they needed some deserved touch ups. I haven’t done the mega evolutions for now tho since they might take some more time to do (especially Mega Gallade) so for now I have made at least their normal forms.

Compared to before, I think I was able to get these character portraits done much more quickly than the previous ones, despite being more larger and a bit more complex than Ralts and Kirlia (mainly Gallade since I had to change his color palettes instead of keeping them the same like the rest of the Ralts line). Maybe it’s just because I was in a better mood when making these portraits, but I think I’m just getting more better at making these more quickly, so I’ll say that I’ll be to get more portraits done in the rest of the year.

Gardevoir and Gallade’s portraits will be uploaded above in the main post, under the F2E - Pokemon - Gen III and Gen IV section respectively.

Pokemon Gen III - Gardevoir

Halfbody

The first final phase of the Ralts line. I based its new pose mainly on its Unite artwork, while the main colors where the ones that are more similar to its original artwork and most anime appearances. I like how I did the shading of its dress, as much as some might it actually looks a bit simple, although maybe the weakest/more odd looking part of the portrait might be the arms, specifically the one at our left, since of how it makes part of the chest look kind of combined. Other than that, I like how this one turned out.
Pokemon Gen IV - Gallade

Halfbody

The male only, physical addition to the Ralts family made on the fourth generation. This one was more trickier to do than the previous mons since not only I ended up changing his color palette (not just the green part, I also changed the pink/red parts too), but I also had to add more thanks to his crest in his helmet like head. Fortunetaly it actually didn’t take too much time since he still had a more or less simple color palette (I mainly axed one tone out of four of the pink/red color, and the darkest green and light blue tones use the darkest white skin tones). In the normal variant he does have full 16 colors when compared to the others staying under 15, but for now it’s fine. When compared in height to Gardevoir I think his eyes, mouth and shoulders end up a bit shorter than them, but I think it shouldn’t be that noticeable. Overall, I’m glad at how this one turned out.

Here’s some recolors that I did for these two:

Well I’ll be damned. Guess it was about time I hit the character limit in the main post. I wish there was an easier way to see how many characters a post has. Guess this will be a excuse to make arrangements of some of the posts I did here, so I’ll talk to one of the mods to help with that.

Other than that, greetings everyone. Today where I am it’s July 16th, and in celebration of this date I’ll be giving what is so far my biggest portrait release yet.

As a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon: Lucario and the mystery of Mew, I’ll be releasing what’s pretty much a pack of portraits of the main Pokemon character of that movie. It includes not only recolor alts, but expressions and outfits too, and while I’ll not be putting the expressions mixed with outfits, they’re there on the Dropbox link I’ll leave down below.

Lucario’s one of the very first character portraits I made and released here on the internet (Gallade was made before him), ever since two years, so not only updating his portrait, but also giving him lots of alts was something I enjoyed doing, even if it took quite a bit of time for me to make other portraits (I finished his portrait back in April, but it wasn’t until June when I finished most of his alts, and until this month when I finished two or three more, mainly the Cafe Remix ones), but at the very least, I managed to make almost all of the alts I wanted to give him just before this day.

Lucario’s portraits will be uploaded above in the main post, under the F2E - Pokemon - Gen IV section

Pokemon Gen IV - Lucario

One of, if not, the most popular Pokemon to come from Pokemon’s gen IV, although as you can see, he and his species made their first debut in a movie (and I think even in the very first PMD games too). Surprisingly, there’s not much to be said here considering that I already did his portraits a long time ago. In fact, his revamped portrait is still a edit of his very first portrait instead of a complete redraw, since I still liked his original pose enough to just improve on it. Some of the main changes were giving him a much bigger color palette (since at the beginning I didn’t want to do that but later on I came to change that stance), being a bit brighter too and thus having a more accurate color palette, and being slightly taller. If character portraits were able to be more higher, I would’ve liked it but I’m glad at how he ended up here. Maybe his mouth could need some touch ups, but I wasn’t sure how since I didn’t want to change his head any further. Overall, at least in terms of the main portrait, I love how he looks now, so the most certain thing is that this will be the final touch up of Lucario’s portrait.

Here’s the many recolors, expressions and outfits I did for him. It took quite a good while, so you can thank me later.

Also, for something last for the day, in the fourth main post, Other/Observation only - Pokemon Gen IV - Lucario spriting evolution

Pokemon Gen IV - Lucario spriting evolution
ae6df3cb62b6f1e1ada89b4633a1abe8b1ad134a (1)
Lucario’s been one of my favorite pokemon for quite a long time, twelve years ago IIRC, and overall they’re some of my favorite characters in fiction overall. Despite not being around as much as some other FE spriters around here (just really begun two years ago compared to others here having at least one decade of experience, some actually having two already), it’s still noteworthy to see how much I’ve improved since then, with this character being a good examples of that.
The first Lucario portrait was first done around August 2022 on a drawing sketchbook, then it was done properly on pixel art at what it looks like to be July 2023 (that’s why I said I only begun to really make these two years ago). Its eyes were also slightly updated to the version shown here, since they didn’t have eye shine.
The second version was done around February 2024, one month after I joined FEU. Much of the shading was redone, alongside the black tones being changed so that overall it had a lighter palette than the first version, and the eyes were improved. I also made its yellow fur a bit more spikier at the shoulder-neck part, alongside including a missing appendage on its head.
The third Lucario was done in October of the same year at the earliest, were all I did was give it a fuller color palette than before, but other than that, it was still the same as the previous version.
The fourth and so far final Lucario was done in this year’s April (2025), where not only I improved its color palette, but also made some parts of its design bigger, like the appendages, ears, arms and the shoulder pad-like rings in the arms, and its yellow fur was also vastly improved so that it would look nicer and more fitting for FE GBA portraits. It actually has a different expression (the happy one) to make it a more similar to the previous Lucario attempts.
Overall, it was nice to see how much I improved the portrait of Lucario these few years. Goes to show how much practice and proper learning of a certain activity help in the long run.

That’s all for now. Have a nice day.

Over the last few days I spend some time playing Mario Kart World with my younger brother, and today a Pokemon Presents was also broadcast, one where uh, from what I read, not much was actually shown, other than Mega Dragonite. Well since it’s been a while more or less, I’ll post a portrait of a character I did few months ago actually (in May). I was going to post this one before the Lucario mega portrait post, right around July 11th, but I couldn’t since I ended up having problems with my house’s internet, so I decided to wait till now.

The portraits will be uploaded above in the main post, under the F2E - Pokemon - Gen III section

Pokemon Gen III - Sceptile

The final phase of the grass starter of Gen III. This might be not only one of my easier characters to sprite, but so far the easiest one to make a sprite of the Gen III starters, mainly since I didn’t have to worry too much at the amount of colors it would have, therefore it doesn’t have full color alts as most of the previous portraits I did. Maybe the parts I struggled at the most where the eye frames, and the shading around the yellow orbs around its body might need some better shading, but other than that, this one was quick and nice to make.

Today’s character is going to be a little different from past and future portraits, since not only he isn’t a character from something that came out in 2005 or another year, but he isn’t even one from a work of fiction. Rather, this is a portrait from a real person that unfortunately passed away recently, and this is a tribute to him and the works he has done over the years.

It may not look like it, but listening to music is one of my favorite hobbies of all time, and most importantly, rock music is one of my most listened genres and therefore most favored ones. Along the lines of Rock & Roll there resides the main genre of Heavy Metal. One of the bands that was most influenctial to the evolution of this genre was none other than Black Sabbath, of which its first singer was, the one and only, Ozzy Osbourne, who after leaving that band went on to become into a renowned musician on his own right.

As such, the world of Heavy Metal has been in shock ever since his passing exactly one week ago. While for the moment I may not be as affected as much like other people (mainly his loved ones, friends and the main Heavy Metal fans), it’s still shocking to me how a man like him ended up passing away, especially since, despite his recent diseases and injuries, I still believed he would live for a long time thanks to having suffered similar things in the past (to note, he was a notorious drug addict in the 70’s and 80’s, and yet he still lived for a good amount of decades despite his continuous and excessive usage of drugs). As such, his passing means an era has just ended, and the world won’t be the same again. At the very least, he didn’t go out in a whimper, putting on a good final show where all the original Black Sabbath members performed for the first time in years, and raising the money gained to charity.

As such, I decided to make a portrait of the person in tribute to him. I was deciding to see if I would make his portrait F2E or not (after all, he did actually appear as a guest star in various videogames, the most notable being Guitar Hero and Brütal Legend), but for the moment, I decided his portrait won’t be F2U nor F2E. His portrait will be F2E in the future, but only if either enough people/certain people approve of making his portrait F2E, or when the appropiate time comes.

This will be uploaded above in the Other/Observation only section.

Ozzy Osbourne

The famed prince of darkness. I drew these portraits of him as a tribute in light of his passing. It can’t absolutely be denied that he left a long legacy of Heavy Metal in the world, who ended up inspiring a great amount of people along the years, and will remain known as a guy who brought fun and joy to so many people through his works. May he rest in peace, along with some of his friends that had passed away before him (like Randy and Lemmy).
His outfit here was designed as referencing the attire he had in Guitar Hero: World Tour, while his crown alt and overall pose where based on a reference image I found to make his portrait. If I end up redoing his portrait, I would change how I approached his eyes, but other than that, his outfit turned out well enough, and I really like how I did his hair.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I just finished my first posgraduation quartermester, but early today I’ll be going to a three day vacation to Puerto Peñasco, so probably it’ll be a while before I put more time on making portraits, so at least I’ll put some miscellaneous stuff. They’ll be located in the fourth main post, Other/Observation only.

Pokemon Gen IV - Lucario Unite outfits 2025

When making each of Lucario’s Unite outfits, one of the main worries I had to take in mind was trying to make them all fit the full 16 colors palette. Some were easier to make than others, since for some I didn’t have to get rid of any colors present on the normal Lucario portrait, while for others I had to reduce some of them to make them be GBA insertable. The outfits that suffer of this the most were the ones that didn’t share any of Lucario’s normal palette: Blue (main skin/fur tone), yellow (chest fur), red (eyes and mouth), white (eyes and chest spike shine), and black (third fur tone, appendages and shoulder rings). As such, these outfits didn’t end up getting made with the recolors in mind, so you’ll have to get creative if you want a certain outfit with a certain recolor.
Starting off with what would be one of, if not, the most popular and well known Lucario Unite holowear (mainly since this one actually appeared in official art before Unite was a thing, and it also references Lucario’s debut movie), which is the Costume Party outfit, and pretty much the very first Lucario outfit I made. Thankfully since most of the outfit’s colors were similar to Lucario’s palette, I didn’t have to modify any of Lucario’s colors to fit the outfit. Maybe the one that changes the most would be the hat, but imo it still looks nice. What may not be so nice tho is that the hat is very long, mainly from the angle it was drawn, and I didn’t end up making a smaller version of the hat, so if you want to use this portrait you have to use the extend mug patch.
The Space outfit was pretty simple to do, aside from the collar. The shoulder rings may have an interesting shine palette, but imo it shouldn’t be too distracting for it to be noticeable. The jacket should be orange, but in the end I replaced it with Lucario’s present red tones.
For Lucario’s Concert outfit, unlike the Space and Martial arts ones, I went for a different approach for the red tones, where instead of using the eye and mouth tones for the red tones of the outfit, I used the tones of the outfit to replace the eye and mouth red tones. Other than that, this one was also very easy to make.
The Ruins outfit, which actually might be a contender for one of Lucario’s most popular outfits alongside the Costume Party one, was one of the more trickier outfits to make, but it was mainly just for the color palette. Despite not having any of the yellow fur present anywhere, the gold parts around the outfit basically substituted it, and I still had to apply the light green colors to it, so what I ended up doing was replace one tone of the red and blue colors to accomodate it. Otherwise I didn’t take too long at making this outfit, since I actually did it before alongside the Costume Party one.
The Martial Arts outfit was another simple one to make, both the original one and the white recolor, since both share similar colors to Lucario’s normal palette, and they don’t end up having a complicated design overall. Maybe the weakest part is the collar, much like the Space outfit, but it’s still not too noticeable.
The Wanderer outfit proved to be one of Lucario’s most busy outfits in terms of color since it doesn’t have any green colors in it, alongside brown for the belt and band in the cape, and a line in the hat. I ended up using red for those parts alongside reducing one tone of it and the blue color, tho I still had to reduce tones for the green color. Unlike the Costume Party outfit tho, I did make a variant of this outfit with a smaller hat in case you don’t want to or can’t use the extend mug patch.
The Aristocrat outfit ended up being one of the hardest outfits to make for Lucario, despite not conflicting too much with the color palette, funny enough. This was due to the overall attire being more intricate and less simple than most of the other outfits, especially for the diadem. This is the outfit that is most likely to be revisited in the future.
The captain outfit was another outfit that needed to lose one tone of red and blue, despite actually sharing most of Lucario’s colors. The reason this happened is because it needed more tones of yellow for the outfit, and it ends up having a bit of green above in a bandanna under the hat.
The Neo Street outfit was another complex design, but I especially took longer to make this one due to wanting to make expressions for this one and having to acommodate the palette used for the lenses. At least for this one I was able to sacrifice one of the yellow fur tones, since it doesn’t end up being too visible in the outfit, and the colors used in the lenses ended up looking good enough.

It’s been a few days since I got back from my vacation in Puerto peñasco, so I’ll try to make some portraits I have planned to do in these months before my birthday comes up, since it’s most likely that someday after that I’ll be going to have a wisdom tooth extracted from me.

Today’s portrait is from another art trade I did with @WiiSportsRemote, which will also be F2U/F2E for everyone.

If all goes well, next character will be one from a well known franchise where the most reocurring things are space travel and battles, one that had its third live action prequel premiere in 2005.

Gray’s portrait will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises - Square Enix section.

Romancing SaGa - Gray

Full color version

A portrait I made from an art trade, just like with Aisha, who also has his original design. What Gray may not have in terms of a difficult design makes up for a tricky palette instead, since he uses tones of red, yellow and blue (nice), alongside his gray hair, which from some references I found of him, there’s more of him with tones of green, dirty blonde (the one I used for his portrait) and other colors instead of actual gray, which is the main reason for his name, as he’s an amnesiac. If I revisit his portrait, I would improve on what’s actually his yellow coat, since that felt the weakest part for me. Other than that, I’m glad how this one came out, and I’m a fan of how I did his hair, which actually has had its lower part drawn, which can’t be seen due to putting the hair layer below the clothes one.

Haha, thanks. Tbh the way I’ve done this topic was basing it on how Garytop did his topic where he posts his art. For a time I was a bit conflicted on how I was doing it, since I feared that someone would want to call me out for doing it just like him, but those worries ended up dissapearing thanks to not only being actually well received, but by Garytop himself liking some of the stuff I did. Still, I’m glad you like these.

Maybe since it’s been a long time ago, I think? Well for me, it feels a bit different since I was only two years old when it came out, so it does feel like it’s been a long time ago since then.

But yeah, if it wasn’t obvious, the next character portrait is Obi-Wan from Star Wars, specifically his Episode III appearance.

As for previous story with the franchise, I’m not much of a big fanatic as some people in the world or here are (then again, I’m not too obsessed with the things I do love), but for most of it I don’t mind it. I did end up playing some Star Wars games, like the Lego games, The first Force Unleashed game, and the tie-in game for the Episode III movie (the Xbox and DS ones). Cool franchise overall.

The next characters will be from a survival horror franchise that ended up getting new entries in 2005 and 2015.

The portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Non-Videogame Franchises section.

Star Wars Episode III - Obi-Wan Kenobi

Robe alt

Full color alts

One of Star Wars biggest main characters, in his Episode III attire. Despite having somewhat of a simple design, it took a bit making his tunic since I was focused on detailing it so it would look nice. I think part of what makes characters with light hair/clothing be more elaborate than some with darker ones is due to how much colors and shading they need so that they don’t end up looking too flat. Also I may have overdone it with the hair shading or not, depending on your point of view, but imo it doesn’t look too bad.
If I revisit his portrait I may give another try at doing his hair (mainly his beard, see if I’m able to make it more lighter in color) and his robe alt, but otherwise, this one turned out good.
