Well, today’s March 19th, and the fourth Sonic Movie has been released in theaters… Is what I would say if the year we’re on was 2027, but we’re on 2025, so that’s gonna be two years until then. Still, to conmemorate the wait getting shorter I decided to release some portraits of one of the characters getting properly introduced there. Fun fact, I started this portrait when I finished the sketch right in January 19th, almost two months and on the same day too! (Although I’m not sure if its exactly two months, since February doesn’t even have at least 30 days at all). I was also going to do Metal Sonic’s portrait, but since I wasn’t too convinced at how it ended up, that one’s going to be done a bit later.

Other than that, I’ll have to see which other portraits I do next, either anything that I like doing, resume and finish the P3 characters into GBA project I had in mind, or start other series of portraits I have in mind (like the 2005/2015 character portraits).

The portraits will be shown on the updated post on the section of F2E - Non-Videogame Franchises - Sonic Cinematic Universe.

FE6-7 color alts (that's right, I went crazy instead of lazy for this character in particular lol)

The spunky and cheerful pink haired girl hedgehog from the Sonic franchise, the movie version that is interpreted by [Unknown VA, will change once they announce who will be]. I spend a good amount of time making her portrait so that it would come out well, and it shows. The most difficult part of her head for the portraits (aside from the eyes like how it also turned out with the previous Sonic characters) would be her tuft of hair above her head, I would say, but it wasn’t very hard to figure out how to draw it. The first outfit I made was the one where she has the cloak and cape, with her head uncovered. After that I did her alt with the hammer, which I bet was thankfully able to be made thanks to her not being too big for the hammer to not be able to fit in the portrait. Then after that I did an alt where she wears an outfit that resembles the one she has in the games since Sonic Adventure, which was done for two reasons: one, since via a concept art of the third movie shows her with this outfit, so I did it in case in the next movie it does turn out she ends up wearing it, and two, so that people could have a portrait of the movie version of Amy with the outfit of her main counterpart instead of the other one. After that I did a hooded alt of her other outfit. As for the colors used for her normal variants, since she has a good amount of colors (including the ones used in her hand and hammer if you count those) the main challenge of this portrait was to see how to fit each one while not losing too much detail. By the end, the result was the cape sharing colors with her two darkest skin tones, two green tones for her eyes that could be replaced by a 2nd hood shade and a 6th skin tone in her hooded alt, her 3rd hair tone being made a bit red to fit as a color tone for some of her clothes, and her lightest skin tone made being a bit clearer, which, while making her skin shades a bit more pale than usual, at least helped giving a good color for other parts of any of her portraits, mainly her eyes and glove. If I could tho, I wish I had another tone of yellow for her hammer, since her skin tones make it a bit hard to give it more convincing tones of yellow. Other than that tho, this character went much better than expected, and maybe I’ll only revisit her portrait if she ends up having a different outfit or appearance in the fourth movie.

Here’s a DropBox link to download all her portraits at once if you want them.

Well, it’s been more than a month since, so guess I’ll post some portraits of a character I did this month, so I have something posted in April.

After thinking it more, I decided to postpone my P3 character portraits project indefinitely, maybe I’ll get them done for next year, but it was done mainly since I wanted to focus on making portraits of other characters that weren’t just from one game.

Now this next remade portrait I did, which is another Pokemon portrait like the ones I did previously, is of one that’s mainly my favorite starter from the Gen VIII games. Not counting most of the controversies regarding that generation of Pokemon (cut dex, low graphical quality, underperformance of the main games, and some other things) I do remember the final stage evo of this pokemon being quite disliked. Maybe it still isn’t really the most liked one, but nowadays I do feel like there are more supporters of this one than there were in the past.

Maybe the reason that this is my favorite starter from Gen VIII ever since it was released was because of the three starters it’s the most I relate to. At first it starts as timid and scared, just like I was when I was a kid and confronted by things I was scared of or being yelled at by others, then it grows to be more apathetic and lazy, which while I’m wasn’t really that apathetic, I still ended up stopping at actively pursuing social reunions and more friendships, and finally it becomes more badass, open and confident at the things it does (while still having that hint of being lazy), of which I feel that currently I’m becoming more of that, ever since last year.

Still, it can be hard when people do actively dislike your tastes, but as long as it isn’t something that’s really bad or controversial, I do still maintain that sometimes insulting something isn’t the right way to express your opinions. And if you get called out because what you did or express was really that bad, well, there’s no other way but to learn from it and try to never do that again (emphasis on “try”. It can be done gradually). And when you’re the one to call someone out, if you see that they did indeed improve and actively begun to change their inmoral ways, then it’s better to stop pestering them over their previous grievances. No one is perfect after all.

That last bit was something to get out of my system, something that’s been bothering me ever since this year started, and I don’t really want that to force me to leave this place, even stopping from just posting art here like always. It’s something that influenced at doing my FE art more slowly, even tho I don’t have a job or another occupation. If anything, even if I’m not really that bad of a person, know that every mistake I made, or I learn from it, or I regret it. Honest.

If all goes well tho, next character’s going to be the start of characters and/or designs of ones introduced in 2005 and other similar years.

The final stage of Gen VIII’s water starter. This new attempt makes better use of the colors used in its appearance, alongside being more well drawn overall. I found out later when doing the halfbody that the normal hackbox variant was going to make it look a bit small, so maybe later I’ll do an alt that uses the extend mug patch and makes it taller, otherwise I’ll leave it like it is. I"ll say that I’m proud of how I managed to make the mouth frames, since they end up reaching the far horizontal edges of those, almost to the point of not fully fitting in. It does overlap a bit with the eye frames, but at this point it’s no big deal. Although it ended up making me give it two tones of pink when it opens its mouth, since I didn’t really like it using the skin tones for the mouth frames.
One thing to note is that the normal and shiny variants do change quite a bit regarding the way the colors are used in the normal versions, since the shiny variant still retains its yellow eyes from the normal Inteleon variant, but thanks to it changing the yellow tones to sort of a magenta/ red-pink one, this allowed me to replace the colors used in the mouth frames so it uses the same colors, and ironically enough, it allows for more colors in the eyes.
Only in the halfbody version do you get to see how I did the shading for the cape, which did came out pretty well, and here there’s some other colors not present in the above part, since Inteleon isn’t a pokemon with a really simple color palette (then again, there are other pokemon that are more worse in that part).
I also made alts of it with the lenses like membranes in its eyes when fighting and it being invisible, which are things made present in the anime, since they were very simple to do.
Overall, I really did end up liking how this one went.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I celebrated Mother’s day here where I live. If you had it, or today you’re celebrating it, then I wish you a happy Mother’s day. Give thanks to the one that brought to this world, since otherwise you wouldn’t be here today.

I’m in a pretty good mood now, so I find it fitting to put portraits of a character now. While it might be a little bit late, since not only the DMC Netflix series released a few months ago, but DMC3 just had its 20th anniversary a while ago too, I did these portraits mainly since my brother started playing the games this year’s March. And since DMC3 released in 2005, I find it great to start my 2005 character portraits mini project with Dante.

The iconic jokester and cool demon hunter from the Devil May Cry series, and one of the Hack and Slash genre’s staples. Most of his outfits are pretty simple when it comes to color distribution, and this one is one of the more simpler ones, thanks to having just red for the coat, and brown and yellow/white for the leather and steel parts, which can easily use skin tones. This enables me to not only give him 4 hair tones + hair shine, but also give him a light blue color for his eyes. What wasn’t so simple tho was actually making his coat, since I wanted to make it based on how his in game model looks, and sometimes it was a bit hard to read. At least it gave his coat a pretty cool shading, where the lightest red tone worked as shine for his outfit.
I did two variants of his Rebellion sword, since in DMC3 it has two designs, one being the initial dormant phase, and the other being the permanent awakened one.
If I end up revisiting him, I’ll mainly redo parts of his coat, and maybe give him more outfit alts too.

Hey everyone. I’ve been a bit slow in regards to posting more here, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t left making pixel art yet.

As always, some of the character portraits here were made to conmemorate the 20th anniversary of the game they appeared in, even tho not only did they actually debut much earlier, but it has passed some time since that anniversary, so welp. I promise I won’t be that bad regarding this for next characters portraits lol.

And as of posting this, the day of tomorrow will begin the events of the summer game fest, so depending on what’s shown there I might post a portrait of a certain character there or not.

The portraits will be uploaded above in the main post, under the F2E - Pokemon - Gen III section.

Pokemon Gen III - Ralts

Doing the portrait of this critter was pretty simple to do, mainly since it’s one of the more smaller characters I did so far. To make it a bit more unique from how it’s drawn normally, I decided to make it look upwards so that its eyes could be clearly seen, although from how I drawn it that made it so that part of the eyes frames were a bit more difficult to do. If I were to revisit this portrait, I would improve on that aspect alongside shading the red head horn a bit differently.
Pokemon Gen III - Kirlia

Halfbody alt

The second phase of the Ralts line. While this one took a bit more than the Ralts one, it still was overall a bit simple. If you check this portrait’s height from the normal variant to the Ralts one you’ll see that the Ralts one is more or less a bit taller than this one, but not only this mostly happened because the Kirlia portrait was made first as a halfbody, but I would argue that Ralts looking up does make it feel taller than it actually is. If I end up redoing this portrait, maybe I’ll improve the eye and the horns shading on the head, and also improving the skirt like part of its body in the halfbody section, since I feel like it doesn’t look as well when mirrored.

One reason I ended up taking a bit longer at posting anything here too was because I ended up making recolors of these two, so there’s that lol. At the very least I’ll be able to use most of these same colors when I end up doing the rest of the Ralts line. You can check them out here.
