Where did you get your user name?

The title pretty much says it all. How did end up with your name here in FEU? What inspired you to get such a name? Why you wanted to get that name yourself? Other details like your level of satisfaction with that name, or if you use it in other places are welcome, but otherwise optional. It could be something that’s very meaningful to you, or just some random, funny thing you just picked for your name.

Let’s start with me, for example. My name, AlemOwl, doesn’t really have any great meaning, just randomnly changing two letters of the name of one of my main OC’s and combining it with the word owl, maybe as a reference to one of my favorite starter pokemon (guess which one lol). I have a similar, but not the same, username in other places, but other than that, it depends on whether I use this same username or have another one altogether.

And if you’re wondering, yes, this topic was made before, but it has been 1 or 2 years more or less since the last post was made there, and in that time there have been a good amount of people that joined this forum, so it would be nice to get some new or even old responses here.

Also, this topic has the honor to be the 2nd one with the “Irrelevant” tag, after the famous Dies Emblem one, in response to some of the new topics made recently. I decided that this one would have it because, for me, not all user names would be Fire Emblem references (like mine), and it’s just discussing about names, not really talking about something about FE romhacking, or even posting material for them (images, music, mechanics, etc.) for that matter.

Mine is definitely not a Fire Emblem reference. I started using the name Rie for games all the way back when I was a kid and playing Yugioh Forbidden Memories, then years later the game Bleach 3rd Phantom asked for a last name, and that’s when I started using Vinaca, and they both have stuck ever since.

Cristian comes from my dad, although our relationship is complicated. (I also used this name in other forums) The X1, I guess I only added it because I liked how it sounded.

Well, it’s a long and complicated story. See, it’s my name, and…

Oh. That’s it.

It’s Justin.

I went with something two syllables that isn’t too difficult to pronounce (though maybe it isn’t quite as easy as I initially thought) that I hadn’t seen before. I also wanted the first syllable to be typable with one hand (Ves), though in the end no one calls me that anyway.

Kid me just thought it sounded cool, and it basically became my moniker

Back in covid, I decided to start a youtube channel for the fun of it. It used to be called “Pokemon Hero Of Justice” (I was like… 10 1/2? Don’t judge lol.

I later matured (somewhat) and renamed it Pokemon Hero Gaming. Pokemon became PK, so Pkherogamingyt.

Fun fact! The first syllable is typable entirely with the left hand, and the second entirely with the right!

Yep! That was intended.

:index_pointing_at_the_viewer: Similar origin story!!!

ok but no for real, ~10-year-old me had a Pokemon fanfic in the works called Pokemon Kingdom Legends (its not published anywhere, dont ask) and I wanted to make it into an animated series to post on YouTube so my first username was PKLpikachu

Since PKL was never gonna be a thing, i rebranded to PKLucky

At one point I hit the “I really need to change my username” era in life around the same time I was trying to write some characters for a barebones story sketch which uh

would not have been very enjoyable nor morally respectable

and trying to hit some sort of good name, I (potentially forgetting) went to google translator to see if I could get a banging word by translating a word into a different language

so trying to hit some good words, I ended up translating ‘gleam’ into slovak, and there came ‘Lesk’

after that moment I ended up just making the blanket barely disguised OC Lesk to be thrown on pretty much everything

the Lyfeld part mutated itself into existence, as it kinda began as a goofy nick I was given by someone at first (as Liefield), then I got hit with a ten character limit once so letters were cut off

so that’s Lesk Lyfeld for you

So, when I was a kid, I was SUPER into Nintendo and the Mario series. My favorite character was Yoshi. When the internet was young (I’m 37 btw) there was an artist who went by “Luna Yoshi” who had a website called “Luna Yoshi’s Sanctuary” where they posted hand drawn artwork of their own fanfic Yoshi world with its own lore, gods, etc.

One such piece of art was a dragon that was part machine called the “Kurayami Dragon” which I took a strong liking to. Eventually, when I got older and made my first online account (I forget where exactly), I tried “Kurayamidragon” but it was taken. So I changed “dragon” to “white” just to find something available… But SOMEHOW that was taken too! So I went with “black”, it finally took and “Kurayamiblack” was born.

After that, people I talked to got so used to “Kurayamiblack” as my name that I just kept it my whole life. It was the only way people could find me whenever I changed websites or platforms.

EDIT: My profile pic is “Light and Darkness Dragon” which is my favorite card art from the game “Yu-Gi-Oh!”. It’s not related to the Kurayami Dragon at all.
