Vesly's ASM / C

Hello, I’ve been trying to use this, but have encountered a problem. the green bag used for the droppable item ruins the silence icon, as silence’s third frame uses up the entirety of that 16x16 section. Would it be possible to move the green bag next to the yellow one instead (example below)? If so, what do I need to change to make it work?

Icon Sheet

@Jack_G I’ve made a minor edit so you can more easily choose the tile number.

  • Open in no$gba
  • Hover mouse over the tile you want (in this case, it is 0x64)
  • Edit the installer where it had 0x69

So change that bottom line to WORD 0x64|0x800.

And just edit the image as you like.

Support post battle

Support points are gained by slaughter instead of by repeatedly ending the turn beside your support interests. And it shows a little heart when they gain points.

Credits for this include Hypergammaspaces and 7743. Enjoy.

Btw just checking would this impact assistive actions? (Ie Refreshing or Staffing)

I think the heart shows up when you heal or dance for someone, too. Let me know if I missed something, though.

Hey. I noticed that in the installer, there is a line for the support rate. Does this mean that base action value is 3, and then it’s doubled if it’s a kill?

Does this overwrite the vanilla support rate function that is assigned per-character? And does it also overwrite the initial values that you can set?

This is why I increased the rate.

It takes the number in the growth column and multiplies it by SupportRate, which I reccomend as 3. This is because killing things is harder than ending turns, so the vanilla rate was making supports much more difficult to obtain. Set it as you’d like. You only gain points for KOs, not damage. It does not overwrite anything in that screenshot.

I did some testing and found a few issues:

  • Dancing does NOT increase supports. (This I think should be fixed.)
  • Using a long range staff, such as Physic, increases the support outside of the predetermined range. (This I think is neat and should be kept.)
  • Staves give 2x support points as what Killing does. (IDK if this is intentional, but I think it should be the same as killing, if not half.)

Also. For some reason, at one point I got yellow hearts instead of red? I have no idea why this happened, and I was unable to recreate this bug. It persisted across multiple chapters too.

Yellow heart means they’re ready to support

Aaaaahhhh. That’s good to know.

Still… I think you should fix dance and make it give support points. I assume it also doesn’t work with Play currently.

And also, how would one change Staves being x2 support points what killing is?

Dance / Play commands now grant support points and healing is no longer 2x attacking

So from my understanding the support thing only gives support points on kills. Would it be possible to make it work on chipping instead? Then you could probably keep the lower support growth.

This. Though, I think it would be neat to have it be toggleable in the installer. By commenting or uncommenting a single line.

My recommendation is that attacking and not killing, dancing, and staves, should give the base growth amount in Support Thresholds. And killing a unit gives triple that amount.

Also. It would be neat if units didn’t gain support points if one of them was berserked.

I think they should still gain support points because some people find the murderous berserker rage quite… intriguing. Also adding an additional check would suck. let the lil grimer man take a break

Perhaps it could also be toggleable

Did Vesly ever push the change to ExtendWeaponDescBox? This is a bug that occurs in vanilla too.

If he didn’t, could you DM me the updated files?

Actually @AuraWolf if you wouldn’t mind perhaps you could just make a pull request to my github which you could link to Alice

Sure thing

@Alice Link to pull request commit
