In light of Chair retiring, I felt the need to start up a new music repository. Regardless, I’ll be using the guidelines from the original repo for submissions.
The .s file must be compatible with the native instrument and the 16 tracks/12 sounds patches
Name the .s file with the following format (Source - Title (Your Username)) {ex: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky - Dialga’s Fight to the Finish (Grated Shtick)}
The track must be looped and have velocities tweaked to not explode your ears (if needed)
Dummy instruments need to get swapped out for similar ones that are available. If you use FEB, the dummy instruments are usually mapped close to similar instruments (i.e. GBAFE doesn’t have a Piccolo, but it gets mapped to a dummy instrument near the Clarinet and Flute so it’s an easy fix)
The track must be taken from a f2u source or ripped from the primary source itself
Please mention any edits you’ve done to the original track (i.e. cut the intro or an instrument)
Aside that, anyone can contribute.
You haven’t given any information about how the songs will be compiled. In addition, the original dropbox/soundroom files aren’t linked here? Did you communicate this with Chair or the other people interested in the soundroom before you opened this? Having two different music repos is only going to be confusing.
Alusq seemed pretty keen on having a hand in this and also was putting together a plan. I’d recommend deleting this thread until we have clearer alignment. Hopefully Chair won’t delete the current repo until a new owner and mechanism for maintenance are sorted.
I’m re-acquainting myself with GitHub at the moment; I want to make sure I set things up correctly and not rush. You’re welcome to have your own repository, but one with a system already in place where people can propose changes (i.e. uploading their stuff and then a moderator gets to make sure it’s legit) is going to be much less of a pain than asking people to send you their files which you then put into a Dropbox folder.
Besides of Chair Vacations, what about if i found MIDIS made by other people not from the hood (FEU) and want to share it? I upgrade them and want to share it with you since I have good ears, how can i do it without getting in trouble?
If you wish to use some of the music files you find on this site in a project, on another website, for some other purpose, you should contact the author of the files you wish to use.
You, Grated Shtick.
How much music…
can you handle?
Can you withstand the .s files
of one who’s old repo has passed?
The weight of the burden
of that file space?
Weak souls succumb quickly
to a strong overused joke…
Strong music is like a toxin
to those whose bodies and minds
are unfamiliar with such
overwhelming funny…
Chair, just for a moment,
grant me that good music choice…!
