Oho! I think you’re the first one who’s ever caught that detail without being told - or, at least, the first to actually mention it. Good eye. Thank you for your kind impressions!
v1.10 released!
- Fixed unit inventories being duplicated upon retreat on casual mode.
- Fixed Fazang’s inventory not properly being sent to the convoy when he dies.
- There is an issue on fixed growths mode where growth modifying skills cease to function. This directly nerfs the two units who have those skills, which only exist for flavor. At the present time I cannot fix this, so it has been added to the “known issues” section of the readme.
- Also added the links to the tier list makers and the popularity poll to the readme.
You could always literally just lie to the player and have the skills do nothing, instead baking their growth rate bonuses into the characters’ personal growths instead?
I’m given to understand that there is one character for whom this may not work, though.
Thanks for the quick fix! Now I can’t have infinite-ish master seals anymore.
On another note, really really enjoying this hack both for the story and the gameplay!
This is such an amazing game! 10/10. The story is so interesting, and the characters are incredibly compelling. Legit makes my top 5 games of the year with how much fun I am having with it.
So iam about to start my second run and question do i need to keep so safefile or somethink to get new game+ changes? also
The game remembers you beat it as long as you keep the same save file. That is, the file on your system where your save data is stored. You can safely delete your old save slot(s) if you want.
Yays
Waiting for V2.0
Reached Chapter 19 so far
And here’s some screenshot I need to ‘blur’ because of… spoliers
I’m very curious about how that works internally. Some friends and I asume it works with the same Flag as Super Trainees in vanilla FE8, but we could be wrong.
Hi, guy who helped Ruben set that up here. There’s a few bytes of memory in the .sav file that are persisted outside the individual save slots and can be used to set cross-save metadata. On a brand-new .sav, those are all zeros. We write a nonzero value there in the epilogue event, and then the new game+ stuff checks for that value.
This guide here really isn’t very helpful, but is where I first learned about it: NewGame+ (FE8)
Finally completed the main story of the hag in white
truly enjoyed playing it
I spent about 20 mins making that guide, sorry
. I nearly made it Community because it’s hardly a guide at all. I recommend using the quick asmcs I made, as it makes it simpler.
In terms of my explanations in general, I’ve openly admitted many times that I typically give short answers only meant to point others in the right direction; someone else can hold their hand and go into further detail if they need it. It relies on people like you, and I really appreciate all that you do. Sorry if it feels like I’m leaving others extra work.
Amazing.
Can’t wait for them to solve the plot of Hag by beating the crap out of Sandraudiga in chapter 3.
Took me a solid minute to understand the joke, good shit XD
Also, a small question with spoilers down bellow
The spoiler in question
Aside from being able to save Pheme, what other changes should i expect from playing NG+?
Unsure if there’s a way to actually fix this, but growth-modifying Skills as well as the growth boosting items don’t function on Fixed Mode. I think this is mostly fine, but the character with Blossom suffers the halved EXP gain without the doubled growths which just makes them feel awful to use.
Yes, this is in the known issues section on the readme. I cannot fix it at the current time. I thought the mind scroll, at least, did work, though.
