In my absurd quest to collect a steam libraries worth of FE romhacks I bear a Query:
Outside of the ones I collected (which I bet are most of em), Are there any I’m missing/should know that use Generic units as a key element, as one whos creatively bankrupt for naming, I always did find controllable/playable unnamed or faceless units the most interesting.
Current ones in my collection:
Souls of the forest (generic replacements if immense casualties)
Iron Emblem (and its gaiden, a requirement, as you do)
Bandit Emblem (short but good)
Crowns and Thrones (leader named and soldier generics, lotta niche stuff)
Illusory dungeon (If im remembering right)
Carcino 803 (Recruitable generics)
Road To Ruin (Some playable generics here and there, a whole chapter of them somepoint)
Honorable mentions: Lords of the Seas with that one chapter, Drums of war with that one chapter
..So, that being said, Amidst my collecting of playable generics in romhacks, Is there any of note im missing, or ‘hidden gems’ you fine folk might know of that Id be interested in?
Road to Ruin has a very small playable cast of only 26 units, but it supplements this with both green and blue generics in various maps, including some gaiden chapters with almost entirely blue generics. It’s only 20 chapters, so it’s quick to try.
I made this a while back and the whole thing is only 7 chapters long, but this game features a cast of 7 “non-generic” characters. The rest of the army is comprised of ~30 potential recruitable generic units, obtained by capturing an enemy and holding them until the end of the map.
edited the post, its going alongside lords of the seas in honorable mentions, I have it in my folder but did not know of the playable generic chapter yet
