Prologue: IT BEGINS
Hi, hi! I’ll be narrating my own thoughts as I play.
And of course, on Difficult. I’m no coward.
To get to him, I need to go through you!
I… I think. Where even am I?
Oh no… I’ve been surrounded!
My lady Void, I’m here!
I can’t afford to lose here… Come and fight me, and I’l- oh wait that’s leeroy
…Timely as usual, I see. What took you so long?
Forgive my tardiness, Void. I’ve brought some men willing to fight for us.
Alright. Names, please.
The name’s Tam! You can count on me!
I’m Tim… Though I prefer to be called Timathan.
So…you’re brothers, right?
Well, uh, yeah, actually!
How could you tell?
Ugh… Never mind. You two deserve to be slammed for those names.
…Are these really all that you managed to bring, Leeroy?
I’m here too.
Really? Well damn, that’s a good joke.
Oh my god, no. You’re serious, aren’t you.
Indeed I am. Leeroy was searching for a soldier, so-
Leeroy, you suck at conscripting. Watch me blitz through my enemies!
The first… of many.
It would be unwise to try and engage all of those enemies at once.
That’s a bold statement coming from you. I’d like to see you try the same.
I… would prefer not to try something like that…
Exactly. Go and stab someone off in the distance, or something.
As you command…
YOU
YOUR BLOOD WILL BE USED TO PAINT THE PATH OF OUR VICTORY
That’s a good Leeroy.
Thank you, my lady.
Hey, you’re not the only man who can down another man in one hit! Observe my power!
Ok, you know what? Maybe you’re cool. Maybe.
The enemy charges onwards! Look out!
Get the pink haired girl!
Oh, please. I’m more than a match for you, and I’l-
Ow! OWW!
Leeroy… I got hit…
OH THOSE BASTARDS
ALL OF THE BLOOD YOU SAVAGES COULD SPILL WOULD NEVER ATONE TO THE WOUNDS YOU’VE BROUGHT UPON MY MASTER
We’ve got a fighter to the east!
Not to worry, I’ve got this sucker. Brother, can you deal with the other fighters?
No troubles over here.
…
…
Is everything alright?
Yeah… Everything’s fine. Probably…
Bring me closer to the enemy! I need to get in the fight!
And THAT’S how you do it! Take notes, everyone!
Phew… I’m feeling better now.
Alright, you peons! We’re moving in on that castle.
So, that girl’s planning to retake our base? Everyone! Hold your ground at all costs! Do NOT move from your positions!
Yes, sir!
Void, it appears the enemy is holding a defensive position at the fortress.
And one of them is in heavy armor? Idiot. Leave that walking chunk of metal to me. The rest of you, deal with the stragglers.
Brother, would you like to?
I’m glad you asked, Brother!
Two down, woo!
I’ve got the last one. Watch.
And for our defensive position to fail… No matter! I will grant you the honor of dying to the name of O’Neill! You will be the first to die!
Really? You know, all of your friends died first.
Damn you! Take this!
Gghhh… You… stabbed me…!
Your life is forfeit for that! Die!
With every adversary I slay, my strength grows.
And with that, victory is ours!
Congratulations, everyone. You did better than I expected.
I’m afraid we can’t do that, Void. We still have a long way to go before we can defeat the Demon King.
What?! How come?! I need to avenge my parents now.
That isn’t possible now, Void. When your father was killed, the Demon King took the only weapon able to kill him… The Super Blitz. Attempting to challenge him now would be tantamount to suicide.
Well, how long will it take us to get the Super Blitz?
Let’s see… Judging by the length of a full fan project… times… hmmm… I’ll hazard a guess it’ll take us 29 more battles.
…gently caress.
Without the Super Blitz, we cannot slay the Demon King for good. Apologies.
Actually, scratch that. Leeroy, I always hate you.
I know, Void… I know…
END OF CHAPTER
Alright, my thoughts! Prologue is a pretty fun, albeit pretty easy chapter.
It’s easy, but I like that you can’t just throw Void or Tam into all of the enemy ranges and win. As for units…
Promotion Path: Lord -> Great Lord (Lunar Brace)
Skills: Aether, Shove, Bond
Learned Skills: Rightful King (Lv. 10 Lord), Canto (replaces Shove, Great Lord), Nihil (Lv. 5 Great Lord), Lancebreaker (Lv. 15 Great Lord)
E rank Lances, can wield Blitz Lance and Super Blitz
Void’s a pretty awesome lord. Her bases aren’t that impressive, but they pick up quickly. After promotion she becomes one of the best units in the game. I’ll be waiting until Level 10 so I can stack Aether and Rightful King, though I also need to get her as much EXP as possible for Nihil so she can sponge status staves.
Promotion Path: Paladin
Skills: Provoke, Canto, Discipline, Elbow Room
Learned Skills: Rally Skill (Lv. 5), Aegis (Lv. 15)
A rank Swords, A rank Lances
A very weird Jeigan. He has insane offensive bases, but instead of falling off due to not being able to fight enemies well, he instead falls off due to his garbage bulk. We’ll be relying on him a lot in the earlygame, but he’ll be too frail later on to be worth deploying.
Promotion Path: Soldier -> Recruit (Knight’s Crest)
Skills: Galeforce, Reposition, Camaraderie
Learned Skills: Rally Strength (Lv. 10 Soldier), Paragon (Lv. 10 Recruit)
D rank Lances
Rock bottom bases, but good growths. He won’t be seeing any use outside of earlygame Reposition utility because training him isn’t worth the effort, even with Galeforce.
Promotion path: Fighter -> Warrior or Hero (Hero’s Crest)
Skills: Even Rhythm (Tim), Odd Rhythm (Tam), Fiery Blood,
Learned Skills: Desperation (Lv. 10 Fighter), Death Blow (Lv. 5 Warrior), Counter (Lv. 15 Warrior), Sol (Lv. 5 Hero), Axebreaker(Lv. 15 Hero)
D rank Axes (Tim), C rank Axes (Tam)
Tim has better growths, while Tam has better bases. I’m on the fence for Tim, but I’m absolutely going to make use of Tam, and some of the problems with his worse growths are resolved on promotion to Hero anyways. He might hit the bench if he’s repeatedly unlucky with level ups, but his growths are not even that bad.
