[LT] [COMPLETE] Lineage's Ties: Daughters of Braghedunn (21 Chapters)

A lot of the issues I want to dive into, as per my last post, also revolve around hard mode, and chapters 13 and 17 especially.

I beat chapter 17 after figuring out a way to get wyvern!Sparrow to haul ass all the way to Lignabaste with Yarrow and a physics staff in tow. I don’t know if this chapter would have been possible if I hadn’t made the following choices along the way:

  1. I had the motivate upgrade boon for the Troubadour, which gave me warp access.
  2. I had chosen the wyvern promotion for Sparrow and trained her up carefully and extensively using the scrolls and the storm lance, making her into by far my strongest combat unit (until late game Ennis). Sparrow was also my boots recipient.
  3. I had a souped up Yarrow that was extensively trained with the blood diamond and staves.

By going immediately to the left and using a torch to increase visibility, I was able to rescue Yarrow using Sparrow and have the Troubadour refresh-warp her fairly far to the left.

I move up and to the left (after figuring out some enemy placements I had to avoid) and drop Yarrow on a defensive tile (forest I think) with a physics staff and the light tome that increases stats in a pinch. This allowed Yarrow to keep Lignabaste alive while Sparrow cleaned up enemies.

Several retries were necessary as haphazardly moving in provokes other enemy formations into attackinn Lignabaste.

The Dropbox link should be updated! It fixes several bugs, such as achievements, typos, and Chapter 17’s timer - Lignabaste should survive until Turn 10 as intended. As per usual, to keep progress, you can copy over your saves folder from the old .exe into the new one, to continue from where you were.

Since this is primarily a bug fix patch, there are no significant gameplay changes apart from that - but we’re keeping an eye on the mentioned chapters on Hard, such as 13 and 17, in case they continue to be issues. We do recommend Normal for a blind playthrough, as it was initially designed around it, though Hard has been cleared by our playtesters.

Important update with this version, one fix was regarding a game variable that grants rewards later. If you are being lied to by some orbs, you can turn on debug by going to saves folder, then opening the config file with a text editor. Change the debug to number to 1, and restart the chapter. You can turn the debug off after this chapter is complete.

Blunt, spoiler explanation.

One of the endings is unlocked by getting all the “keys” before the Chapter 20 cutscene. One of those keys, hitting Ayla with the Fragarach, didn’t work in the previous version. By turning debug on, every key is automatically activated at the start of chapter 20.

Hello, where could I provide a log file for an error?

You can provide it here - or in the LTCord discord, where there’s a #lex-telephonis channel. There’s a bug thread in that channel.

Apologies for the trouble - the one uploaded yesterday was an outdated one accidentally uploaded. The current game should now be the correctly updated one.

A new update has been made! Ch 17, which has been a pain point, has been tuned down. Scary siege tomes and killer weapons have been replaced, formations have been adjusted, and in general it should be a lot nicer right now, but if there’s any issues, let us know! Other bugs, including one for our alternate endings, has been resolved, if you’ve reach the late game.

Again, in order to transfer over your saves, copy your saves folder from the old build and transfer it to the new one! Make sure to restart your current chapter to get any new changes, such as if you were in the middle of a Chapter 17 run.

Hey gamers, everyone’s favorite LTphone dev here. As the first batch of players are finishing up the campaign, I decided to make a map tier list. Free to use as long as my chapters are in S tier.

Just finished this and had a great time with it

  • I really really loved the unit design. A+. So fun and unique. That’s something that i always love when i see in a hack/fangame - and yours are definitely very up there with the very best of them.

  • However, i would’ve liked to see (more) enemy units/bosses also use unique mechanics like this every now and then. There’re some, but if bosses were on the same level as player design it would’ve been truly epic

  • Map design ranged from ok to great…and then there’s 17 at the very bottom. Fav. maps were survive/defend ones, like 13 and the early fog one.

  • One thing i think the game doesn’t do well is deployment slots. they vary widely and keep increasing and decreasing. And as much as i loved the penultimate chapter, 22 unit deployment there was kinda…much xD

  • Also hit rates were kinda shaky. I think the game does lack some kinda support system to help stabilize the hit rates a bit

Thanks for the fun times!

A new build has been uploaded! This fixes issues with the True Ending, letting you access the NG+ shop from it, as well as other miscellaneous bug fixes and changes with 19.

As with before, you can transfer over your saves by copying your saves folder from the old build, and then copying it into the new exe. Thanks for playing!

For those curious about the 19 changes

I added a small change where taking down a barrier will also allow you to remove a dispeller effect from one region, allowing the units in that area to use Mana skills
