[Lex Talionis] Fire Emblem 8R (Playable monster units and MyUnit Test update out now!)

This is giving me a trojan virus (according to windows security)? It also just won’t open. No other LT game does this. Neither did previous versions.

Well, I can assure you I’m not smart enough to make a Trojan virus haha :laughing: Windows can be picky, but I don’t know what else I can do since it’s just the game but zipped. :sweat_smile: By not open, do you mean like the file won’t be extracted, or is the double click to play.bat isn’t working? The other playtesters haven’t had any issues so far, but I’ll ask them just in case. :thinking:

The game has been moved back to an older version of the LT Engine, so the game should be able to let units promote normally again. The pair up cooldown weapons crash bug should be back though unfortunately. :confused:

Ok, great news! The LT Engine was able to update the Engine for me to get the promotion crash fixed! So game has been updated again for the crash fix. :slight_smile: Big thanks to the LT team for the help!

Oh do you mean the windows smart protection thingy? Yea if you just click “more” then scroll down there should be a button there (forgot what it says tho sry) click that and you should be good. (Just for clarification this is after you extract the game and click the .bat file)

Newest update fixes quite a few bugs like village interactions, and issues with Rennac showing up as an Other unit instead of an enemy unit. Chapter 5x has been made easier with buffs to Orson and he now has a sword that can heal others. Cormag and Tana has been buffed so should feel better to use now. :person_gesturing_ok: Still working on the weapons patch, finished all the swords, and now working on staffs. So I recalculated and if I get all the assets I have made, it should end up being 300+ new weapons/magic. :thinking: I’m gonna keep working at it and keep try to get that up and going as soon as I can. :slight_smile: Thank you everyone for your support! :smiley:

Made it to chapter 16 eirika route. There was no balancing to be found in my playthrough, but it was my kind of fun with just how much fun stuff there is. Also, I was constantly crashing at chapter 15.

Characters

Ross too good. Easy to train. Ridiculous everything.

Gilliam somehow very useful despite having really bad stats outside of defense. Just really need early game tank for the inflated stats and inflated ranges. He got much worse when I promoted him to armored blaster, but I want my neotank in my fire emblem game.

Seth/Franz/Vanessa/Kyle/Forde terrible. Okay at the start, but they just can’t keep up with good units. Just liabilities that are squishier than my healers and dancer by chapter 13 where enemy units randomly have multiple stats in their 30s. Might be a enemy balance problem though.

Natasha couldn’t keep up with the exp curve naturally, but became really good and leveled fast after promoting to pegasus healer with tower grinding.

Lute best tank in the game? oddly high base defense + arcane armor and suddenly she had 20 enemy phase defense by like chapter 6. I’m very sad she lost staves at T3 battlesage, but I’ll take the 60 enemy phase defense in exchange I guess.

Ewan’s stats look bugged because of how high they are, but it might be impossible to train him without tower. I had every stat at 40 by level 10ish summoner (probably his worst class line, but necromancer skills look fun)

Low strength units really struggle because of the inflated defenses. I think updating an early armory to have silver weapons might be necessary. If you only have 20 strength by chapter 13 you are doing 0 damage to most enemies even with a silver weapon.

Cormag doesn’t aggro in chapter 13 eirika so I couldn’t recruit him since he’s on a mountain.

Weapon Triangle

What’s up with the weapon triangle and why is it the difference between doing 0 damage and 30 damage with 60% crit?

There are definitely countless other imbalances but those are the obvious ones that stood out immediately.

Chapter 15

Game kept crashing when I killed certain units with certain units. If I killed a different unit or killed the same unit with a different unit it might not crash. The command prompt was going crazy even while it was running.

Couldn’t get some of the hidden treasures. I didn’t have a rogue so I’m not positive. I might have just been very unlucky

Ephraim shows up really late and with really low level. I was 2 turns into wait spamming for hidden treasures by the time they showed up. Everyone should be T2 15 minimum, and even then they will have to go hide in a corner lest they get 1 shot by the 8 T2 15 Warriors that spawn there as reinforcements with 50 might and 4 range bows. Knoll’s stats at T2 5 was worse than Ewan at lvl 1 pupil. Or at least lvl 1 shaman.

Anyways, I’m having a blast and I’ll try again tomorrow hoping the bug goes away.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. :slight_smile: Yeah, it is a pretty imbalanced mess right now. :sweat_smile: I’ve been adding so much stuff, that it makes more sense to get all the important stuff implemented and then I can do balancing. Once the 300+ plus new weapons and enemy additions get implemented, then can finally start working on getting things balanced out. :thinking: It’ll be a lot easier to balance things out once everything is implemented and I can give my focus to it.Right now for the current build is to make sure that it is playable from beginning to end without any fatal bugs.

Do you happen to have any more details on the crashes? Who it was during the crash, what weapons. Just any detail can help me isolate and fix the issue. Much appreciation. :pray:

I don’t think the crashes were even character specific. It definitely happened on assassin joshua with a silver sword and halberdier amelia with a spear. I’m sure it happened on several others, but those are what I can remember off the top of my head.

And I’ve got a folder full of this crash. I’m not sure where best to put that.

that´s better lore than what is put in game, please change the promotion description to something like “The Wyvern was tired of the rider and eat them, now the Wyvern has become your soldier.”

Made it to chapter 20 this time. Chapter 20 crashes when I try to start it. Chapter 19 autowins without the map even loading. Chapter 17 was insanely overtuned. I know you’re not working on balance atm, but 80 strength warriors with 4 range bows, man. 70 magic high maguses that still do zero damage to my ewan.

Anyways, found some bugs along the way.

  • Chapter 16 great knights reset their movement at the end of the phase. Tower 2 centaurs and spiders also reset their movement at the end of the phase, most of the time…
  • Bosses don’t have buffed stats, so they’re really weak
  • chapter 17 dragonmasters (I think top left) have swords, which they can’t use
  • trainees get 7 skills meaning you can’t see the 7th skill.
  • I often attack first one enemy phase. This isn’t blade weapons or any skill that I can see. Similarly odd, sometimes the enemy attacks an extra time. Chapter 17 executioner with flux doubled my ninja joshua even though they should only attack once.
  • Elephant rider(kyle) turns into a camel rider animation when I mouse over him in menus
  • Stone body skill (gargoyle lvl 5) says +8 SPD instead of DEF
  • Lamia give very little exp. I believe they are T3 Gorgons, so I feel like they should give more.
