So I need something to do while my brother is working on famous battles. However, I’m taking inspiration from a game I saw on YouTube. I was thinking of a game where you hire mercenaries before conducting a story. Or something of decisions changing the next chapters.
Eh I don’t know, What do you think?
Here is the hack I was talking about: Fire Emblem: Storge [COMPLETE]

I’m trying to build an Idea from it. Since my brother is working of Famous battles I just something I can feel engaged in after my project.

The first things I thought about was the Rennac recruitment in Sacred Stones but as a primary way of recruiting units.
Also, you mentioned hiring them before the story begins? Maybe a prologue chapter with a bunch of hiring options as green units but you can’t afford to hire all of them so you pick and choose who you want to recruit, then reach an escape point to proceed to the actual story with your newly crafted crew. From there you could either add more recruitments throughout the story or make a game where your starting team is all you got and you have to make it last?
There seem to be several directions you can take this.

Your a smart person!!! I like that Idea! But I would like to mix it up with mafia and gangs.
What do you think?
Sounds doable. You’ll probably be putting alot of work into sprites and animations depending on the time period depicted. Or you can just leave the classes the same and use the writing to carry the mafia feel in an FE setting through dialogue and storytelling.
