Fire emblem: Outbreak (concept)

Today I come to show the concept of a project I was working on some time ago in Lex talionis.

Description:
An alternative take on Fire Emblem 7: what if it all started with an epidemic zombie? The strategist’s (Mark/Marcella) hometown becomes the source of a zombie outbreak that will change the fate of Elibe. A story where tactics blend with survival.

I already mentioned some of the topics it addresses here but it also speaks about decay in a world in ruins.

Some characteristics:

  1. The strategist is playable (Mark or Marcella depending on the gender, Although you can rename it to your liking) with supports

  2. Contains licensed or copyrighted music (The music selection is intended to reflect the harshness and chaos of the game world)

  3. The map sprite similar to Fire emblem Fates (to differentiate the characters)

  4. Add new characters to the story

  5. Holy Blood (It’s not like in FE4 but it’s quite similar)

Note: All music belongs to their respective authors, this fangame is non-profit, it has no commercial purposes.

i think if you just market it as a zombie game you’re going to have an easier time, idk how much of any of this has to do with fe7 (mark having a village, zombies in general in elibe, etc)

you really should just make your own setting. Elibe doesn’t have zombies and it certainly doesn’t have holy blood, so the coupling of those concepts are just strange.

This concept It’s an alternative reimagining of FE7 with elements of psychological horror and zombies. It doesn’t aim to be canonical, but rather to offer a different setting.

Really think Magvel would be a better choice for a zombie background. There’s pre established lore, and I’d say SS actually downplayed the horror aspect of monsters. They’re meant to be these ancient eldritch creatures that everyone is repulsed by

I understand what they mean, and I thought about it too, but decided that this project is going to be in Elibe.
Here are other zombie sprites(like i said before, may be disturbing or uncomfortable to some people

Coooral the walkers are comin’

Seriously though I’m down with this idea. I wonder if there’d be any way to implement some mechanic where fallen units will come back as enemy zombies? I saw you wanted to do that with a certain boss.

Also with the more mature and disturbing themes it’s kinda giving Fear and Hunger vibes.

I’m working on a mechanic that does that (revive enemy units into zombies), and I’m also making the zombie map sprites.

Really looking forward to this

I’m experimenting with sound effects (mainly zombies, and some from the RE1 and RE2 menu) to give the project more atmosphere. What do you think? Is it too much or not?

In the game Sekiro, Shadows Die twice, the main character, Wolf, has been gifted dragon’s blood which allows him to resurrect over and over again. However, this comes at a cost. As he revives, a miasma of illness infects the people around him, causing them to be sick.

Also in Sekiro, there were a group of monks who tried to obtain immortality. It was achieved through these immortal centipedes that pretty much use a person’s body as a host. In this state, they are not really themselves and are for the most part, dead.

I don’t think a Zombie outbreak would fit Elibe. However, I do think you can get creative with why there are zombies. You said you want to incorporate Holy Blood. In Elibe, we do know there are dragon people with divine dragon holy blood. FE2/15, we also see the dangers of a deranged rotting dragon to do to the people.

I bring all this up to say what if some dragon’s blood has gone sour and is causing an illness to spread through Elibe and infect others. I think this way you can have your zombies, but also have something grounded in Elibe.

You also mentioned in a previous post that enemies would come back as zombies. In Left 4 dead, we learn that our protagonists are already infected, but don’t turn. They are carriers. A similar idea could be used for some playable characters. If you wanted to impliment forms of holy blood, maybe those with it cannot turn. More so, you can impliment a mechanic where if a unit who does not have holy blood gets poisoned, they themselves will turn.

I don’t know, its just some ideas.

The plague was caused by Nergal, in his experiments with life using necromancy, at some point in his research, the zombie outbreak broke out, Holy Blood is just a power/descendant mechanic (with somes exception, like the heretic, she has another blood type)

I just finished writing the first epic… and…
No se como paso esto
(I already fixed it) I have no idea how this happened… I just wrote “t;close” and immediately this happened… (On top of that it seems like the friends I put in disappeared… maybe they went on vacation…)

Heres the real question is the best character in fiction igor?

(this guy)
Will he appear as a friend or foe?

Hahaha, your comment killed me. I wasn’t planning on including Igor, but now I’m going to seriously reconsider.

If you dont know igor was a myrmidon and a somewhat high ranking black fang henchman (he was in linus and llyods squad) he doesnt actually appear in the map where he talks in

I finished this yesterday, it’s a concept (more than a fixed character), but which perhaps, I discarded this character
