Irona, a land defined in recent years by a great civil war, won by the rebel hero Aderyn against the iron-fisted rule of Perseus. But 50 years have passed since the war, and now the fate of the continent will once more be thrown into jeopardy…
Fire Emblem: Echoed Legacies is a new sequel to the 2019 classic Justice & Pride, aiming to set out to fix what I felt didn’t work out with projects such as Book 2 Remake. Echoed Legacies is not a direct sequel, but rather a distant sequel set 50 years after the original game.
Empress Aderyn has passed away after a 50 year reign, and she never had an opportunity to name an heir. As the factions that opposed her begin to grow in influence with her passing, a second civil war between them and Aderyn’s loyalist faction for control of the continent is inevitable. Desperate for a solution, the imperial army looks to the family of Aderyn’s wife, the late Melinda, and happen upon the still-living Leon, and his granddaughter Kyra, in hopes of providing a new anchorhead for the loyalist movement to keep Aderyn’s dream alive.
(Yeah I know Hag in White has an MC named Kyra too lol, I picked the name before I was really aware of Hag’s existence and Saint Rubenio saw it as a funny coincidence as well)
Didn't you retire?
Yeah, I did. At first, at least. In recent months, the itch to make something new has been nagging at me and I wanted to try something new that I hadn’t done with my projects before, culminating in a bunch of new toys I wish to give the player and a new perspective of Irona showing more of the long-term impact of Aderyn’s uprising.
Hack Features (NOTE: As Echoed Legacies is still in early development, not everything is currently implemented and are subject to change)
- A new cast of characters, consisting of new faces, some relatives of original J&P characters, and even a few old faces.
- Luigi will return. What’s J&P without Luigi?
- Branched promotions with a variety of extra classes, ranging from pre-existing ones such as the mage-slaying Dread Fighter, or entirely new ones such as the bulky, lance/dark-wielding Guardian.
- Promoted infantry classes get a class skill, while all mounted units get Canto as a skill in both tiers. Armors and generals additionally receive an immunity to negative statuses (reflected through a display-only skill in the statscreen).
- A variety of new and reworked weapons to expand the options available to both friends and foes.
- Touhou music because that’s my latest personal brain rot lol. There’s other game music too, it’s not all Touhou.
Mechanical Changes
- Weapon triangle is +/- 2 might and +/- 20 hit.
- Crit bonus classes get Fates Death Blow instead to encourage proactivity when using and fighting these classes. As compensation for no longer having the crit bonus on both phases, the bonus has been increased to +30.
- Trade/Talk/Support are now free actions. Trade specifically acts like normal SNES trading instead of the trade + reset movement trick from the original J&P.
- You can get S rank in all available weapon types.
- Slim weapons give +3 spd when equipped, like in Shackled Power. The Short Bow and the new Compact Axe are considered the bow/axe equivalent of slims.
- Weapons with random 5 crit have had that crit removed. Crit weapons are now largely reserved for weapons meant to go all in on crits such as killer weapons.
- Fog is gone

Transgender related themes play a strong part in various characters’ narratives, including Kyra herself, as she is a trans woman. Kyra has to deal with a strained relationship with her father due to her gender identity, and is anxious as to whether or not her fellow soldiers truly respect her, in spite of Aderyn’s efforts to boost trans acceptance during her reign.
