I had initially assumed this was unrelated, but later in the same map an odd graphical glitch occurred where McGregor’s map sprite briefly displayed as a Mogal.
He would go back to being a Priest whenever I selected him but was otherwise a (slightly cropped from the top) Mogal. I didn’t notice any clear trigger for this and he returned to normal after I ended the turn. I haven’t noticed any of this phenomena outside of this map.
How does Sure strike works? it’s just like vanilla fe8? i’m on chapter 7 and probably i’ll promote Bazba at the end of this chapter, i don’t know but warrior seems so much better than zerker
Here is my all mighty Bazba, my favorite unit so far (he consumed the secret book)
thanks for the clarification, yeah bows is a huge boon, bows are great in this game, and so much better than 15% crit tbh, Access to bows for more hit, specially short bows at base + better promo gains (the +1 more speed that zerker gives not matter that much, even Bazba who is the “slow one”, is kinda speedy), and sure shot just to add a little bit more of reliability, and obviously Warrior crit animation which is the most important one, just see the guy spins until the end of the world, though zerker has water/mountain walking but there isn’t a lot of maps where you can benefit from it, specially for Bazba, he only has like chapter 19 to take advantage of it, i think
I’m currently into chapter 12, my Bazba is 12/2, pretty strong unit, with a short bow can 1 round everything without taking counter attack, with his double fire affinity support with Novala this guy is kinda op, that without mentioning the thief utility
Is there like a list of support partners anywhere? So I can plan my party for the next playthrough. If not I’ll just pick them out of the guide with the talk conversations
Carlyle has a one-sided A support with Ismaire, which is intentional. What was not intentional was that both sides would receive support bonuses and that the magnitudes of those support bonuses would be halved compared to those of a normal A support. My fix made it so that Carlyle gets the full A support bonuses while Ismaire gets nothing, as intended.
This came as quite a surprise! After their first support I was thinking about how she could match classes with Aias as a Great Knight but I was not at all expecting the inverse to be possible.
I like how she’s been hitting it off with him in stark contrast to how her support with Nate went. I’m interested in how these two will end up; Aias talking about his plans for “after the war” feels oddly foreboding when you know you’re playing as the bad guys and Magvel might not exist after the war. On that note, this hasn’t become entirely clear to me; are there characters with multiple potential A supports and paired endings or is it >=5 for all of them? I figured that may have been what the event that removes Lyon’s support with Tiffani was about but I’m not sure. I’ve just been viewing every available support for my non-benched units without thinking about it much.
I found a surprising amount of the hidden items on this map despite not intentionally looking for them. The silence, sleep, killer lance and eclipse were all placed in pretty intuitive locations, but I found the swiftsole by pure happenstance; Aias landed on it while I was having him ferry Hayden over to Innes. Speaking of which…
There was a serious risk of Hayden missing and getting killed by Sure Strike here but I wasn’t going to end the map any other way. I appreciate how his characterization has been played completely straight despite probably being one of the wildest deviations from canon in this hack.
Yeah their paired ending is bittersweet, one of aias convos says that one of his parents (idk can’t remember if it was his mother or father) sacrificed themselves for the other and he says he couldn’t understand that on a logical standpoint. But in aias and lieselott’s paired ending, he ironically ends up sacrificing himself to save lieselott, finally understanding how his parent felt when he did the same
You could’ve gotten Lyon/Tiffani back with a convo on their next map together. There are characters with more than five supports, though there’s only ever one A, if any.
It wasn’t a very popular decision, but I needed to get my character assassination kicks somewhere. I didn’t think anyone would care what I did with this goober! He lost CyL one time!
