Lategame progress update

I was looking forward to the pre-battle conversation between Orson and Fado was not disappointed. I don’t recall Orson’s former friends ever directly telling him that he’s delusional and being taken advantage in any of their canon conversations. It seems kind of obvious, but the existing dialogue just didn’t happen that way. I think this is important for his character, particularly after his conversation with Tiffani established that he is not totally oblivious to reality. His friends really did care about him and he betrayed and slaughtered them for an empty puppet, making him truly and utterly alone. He can either acknowledge this reality or simply retreat further into his own insanity. He is definitely the character where I’m most interested to see where he goes from here. (As well as Deni, he caught me by surprise since he was ostensibly a fully realized character before the sinister flute thing popped up. I haven’t been reading his supports so I may be missing context there.)

Meanwhile, this is how it must feel to be Ursula in Battle Before Dawn.

(This is delightfully evil, I appreciate that you put siege tomes in the previous chapter.)

I wanted her to go on a civilian-killing rampage, but I didn’t quite time the Berserk staff right (as in, I got carried away and killed them all beforehand). Here’s her murking a ballista instead.

“Fine! What’s 17 more years? I can always start again, make another kid.”

I had inferred this from the dialogue when he first joins, but I wasn’t sure if it was ever going to be made explicit or just ominously implied. Ever since that part of the game I’ve been thinking it would be absolutely devilish if Morph!Natasha joined you as a playable unit. I want more Morphs!

Getting so close to the end now, it has certainly been a journey. As I mentioned before, this concept was something I had thought about and imagined playing as a kid, and it’s been incredible to see it realized with such a phenomenal amount of heart. I truly feel compelled to thank you for making this.

Excuse me, but I have find a glitch that my screen goes black when the conversations after victory end im the chapter when you assault the exterior of Renvall

I believe this was reported once before, but I could not figure out the cause. Are you on the latest version? What emulator are you using? Have you tried skipping the cutscenes?

Do not worry I just reseted the emulator and it went well, thank you for your concern but is solved, man this is one amazing romhack

Ch. 26, 26x, 27

Rausten easily blew every single other chapter in the game thus far out of the water in terms of difficulty and concentration required. It apparently took me 3 hours of playtime to clear, though I physically got up from my laptop multiple times in the middle of the chapter to think and refresh my mental focus. Your army is split into 2 groups and each of them is being besieged from multiple fronts and almost all of my units are player phase nukes with poor survivability and there is an urgent time limit so I had to be extremely attentive to not slip up and get anyone killed. I had to minimize the amount of damage I was taking as much as possible by doing wild tactical stuff like having Vigarde and Lieselott trade a Brave Lance between each other and hitting strategic targets with Berserk.

This chapter seems specially designed for a trained Riev to go ham with Belial. Having a Nosferatank to either push aggressively or neutralize one of the 4 fronts you’re being attacked from would have made this way easier. Lyon can’t fill this role here as reliably because his Speed and Defense are low enough that he can still get whittled down and die, not to mention he’s vulnerable to being immediately nuked by Bishops and Swordsmasters.

I haven’t used Riev at all since I got to the unit selection screen, but I still brought him along here and ensured he got the bosskill via Filia’s Might. That 71% hit had me biting my nails because I was not going to restart if he missed.

Compared to this chapter which was like traversing a tightrope over a ravine with a time bomb strapped to your chest, 26x was pretty relaxed. I intentionally took my time as much as possible baiting the enemies out and having Mansel kill every last one of them, including the boats.

My first instinct was to have Dozla kill L’Arachel via the Berserk staff (come on, you knew what you were doing by giving him that Wolf Beil) but then I saw that this would seemingly bar me from obtaining Ivaldi so I just did the next best thing.

Mansel being recruited as a Morph after all that was incredibly conceptually epic. I gave him my Metis’s tome, Energy Ring and Curious Herb. The support with Morva was really cool too. Morva is probably the most utterly tragic and depressing character in this whole story and seeing his POV with that flashback followed by the cut to bleak ominous silence was chilling. Luckily for him, he was incidentally spared of killing his daughter in this run because I ran out of uses on Wretched Air.

I had fun editing this video of my Chapter 27 gameplay. Check it out!

That video’s lovely. Talk about rubbing salt on the wound, Riev must’ve been laughing his butt off the whole way through. Dude didn’t even want to be here!

Alrighty here we go lets see if we can stay alive!

Excuse me, I beg your pardon but what is this secret Aias recruitment thing? Sorry, I’m not very attentive sometimes to the smallest signs and I don’t want to miss it.

Made an account just so I can talk about this hack lmao

Obviously spoilers for people who didn’t beat the game yet lol

I played through the whole game including the postgame content, and I must say… That was a really fun experience! I loved how the early maps either got overhauled in pretty creative ways (prologue, chapters 5/5x come to mind :]) and the rest either got new gimmicks or somethin’ to spice things up. I burst into laughter when I suddenly saw multiple Innes in the desert map, haha.
The story is very well written too, I gotta say! Especially Lyon. We love our dark magic using war criminal and dictator lmao.
I thought at first that I wouldn’t like the majority of the characters due to 'em being pretty boring bosses in vanilla fe8 or serving little to no purpose, but the talk conversations that they have in certain chapters completely changed my point of view on some of 'em, mainly Bazba I’d say hehe. He looked like the typical bandit to me in his joining map but his little rivalry with rennac in the final map of the “route split” in ephraim route (forgot the number of the chapter, I think it was 20?) And his genuine care for bone and the banter that ensued in the map right after made me like him quite a bit :).
I HAVE TO mention how masterfully written Duessel is in this hack, like, GOD DAMN. He was pretty boring pre-chapter 8, but the rest of his dialogue and interactions with other characters are fantastic. His conversation with Lyon and the truth about Vigarde after the grado arc is finished sticks out to me the most!
I have yet to see all the talk conversations sadly, so I gotta do a second playthrough to see Deni’s arc with Nate and Novala, Ismaire’s alliance with Dara, Glen’s “therapy” sessions wirh Saaga aaaand Zabba’s conversations with Zonta and Bone.
Speaking of the postgame, some of the gags and post map dialogue had me in stitches LMAO
The 9th floor’s boss being literally Senator Armstrong is so funny to me for some reason lol. I’m not sure if you’re supposed to cheese the entire ruins with mines, but I used them to make things go smoothly (fake gamer, ikr?). I can’t imagine beating floor 8 aka the disguised rout map with a ton of cursed wrys without using the mine glitch. I also found it funny how franz acknowledges that you’re using the mine glitch and thus equips vaida’s spear, but I shrimply traded it away from him and rescued him to my units thanks to the abudance of cavs in the map anyways.
Floor 10 is way more epic than it should be ngl, did you make its ost by any chance? It goes SO hard lmao.
As for the balance changes, I’m on board with most of 'em tbh, stuff like making summoners lose access to staves and valkyries having 8 mov vs mage knight’s 7 cuz they’re using the worse magic type. Only one I disliked is Wyvern knight. 7 mov, access to D rank bows and losing pierce only encouraged me to go wyvern lord instead tbh. I did promote agrippina to wyvern knight anyways though cuz I only had two other bow units, one of them being Hayden and the other being Sniper!Melina. The buffed promotion bonuses are NUTS tho! Bazba casually getting +4 speed from promo AND the +3 speed bonus from rennac convo whilst having a great strenght and speed growth anyways is insane!

I’m very horrible with conclusions tbh, but I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the hack once again :^). I’m looking forward to any future projects of yours, and I think I will check out your fe6 rom hack soon enough!

The good thing of these bosses is, since they get so little in vanilla, they’re basically blank slates and I get to do whatever I want with them! And so I did. Glad you ended up growing fond of 'em.

It’s End of All from Fire Emblem Fates, and it was ported to GBAFE by Leche!

…Which… I’m just now realizing is not reflected in the credits section. I still have Glory/Ruin, the previous song I had considered using there. You know, all the way before the hack released.

Well. Whoops!

Anyway, I’m really glad you enjoyed the hack! Here’s hoping you like Eckesachs as well.

How exactly did you recruit Ren? Did you need to meet them before 26x and give them the Fell Contract then? Have them steal that item from someone’s inventory? I’m at that point myself and I’m a bit lost on just how that’s done to be honest…

There is a guide linked in the drop box I think. There’s a house that he is in and you can pay him to join. Another house later allows you to pay for the contract

As @SgtStrings said, i found his house and recruited him, and then found the shady guy’s house and bought the fell contract and immediately knew for who it was

You need to visit the inn in Landing in Taizel with Lyon. If you visit it with someone else first, I believe it doesn’t close, so you can still visit it with Lyon after.

It appears that I always get softlocked after beating stage 1 of the ruins, don’t know if it’s because I’m running the game on a 3ds or not

Ok Y’all its time to revive this series. Im going to stream in about an hour be there or be square i guess!

Come on in its starting soon, grab some snacks and watch some more fails

Okay, so it isn’t because I’m playing on a 3DS. I moved the save file to my PC and ran it with mGBA, but it is still softlocked on this screen.

Is it because I wrap skipped the map? I killed only Franz with Bazba
