Ayy, good to hear! I’ll try to make it if possible.
v1.11 released!
- Raised Joshua’s luck so he’s less likely to die from a random crit.
- Lowered a chapter 4 merc’s skill by 1 so Caellach isn’t immediately at risk of dying from a random crit.
By the way, @SaintRubenio , how did you decide which character go with which route when you decide the route split? (Though I do notice that the Grado route team consists of mostly characters from Grado, while the Carcino route team consists of mostly non-Grado characters.)
I feel like the bulk comes from people you face on those routes in the vanilla game.
So you have this and an FE6 version, do you also have a FE7 one?
I apologize for the updates in quick succession, but this one’s kinda important. I was going to put this in the previous patch but there were a couple kinks that needed to be ironed out.
v1.12 released!
- (Hopefully) wrapping up the experience gains arc: The hack’s EXP formula has been changed. Getting down to brass tacks, this shouldn’t affect most units - The main effect is that Lyon now has actual unpromoted experience gains. Previously it was in a “close enough for me” state.
Big thanks to ATHATH, who graciously did the heavy lifting on this! I simply took the solution they provided to me. - Added a guide entry unlocked at the end of chapter 5 noting that the hack only uses master seals to avoid any confusion.
It was mostly what you said while attempting to keep some roles (healer, thief, flier, weapon types) even. It’s not perfect but it wasn’t easy to keep the split even while sending units to places where they’d make most sense. Grado had a major advantage and most of the work was trying to figure out units to send to Carcino lol
For instance
By all means, Zabba should have gone Grado so she could serve as a “backup thief” with an assassin promo, equivalent to Carlyle. However, she had all of the boss interactions in Carcino, so it simply wouldn’t have been a good call. I also sent Zonta with her to alleviate Carcino’s lower unit count issue, but this led to Carcino hogging all the dedicated sword users, much like Grado hogs most of the axe users. Carcino has a lack of tanks but I needed all the knights together for their supports and triangle attack shenanigans.
All in all, it’s a bit messy but I feel like it works about as well as it could have.
There isn’t an FE7 version, no.
Quick question, what are the base classes of the prepromoted Warriors? Is it Fighter, or Brigand. Can I give them a Lockpick, or am I stuck with Bazba and Bone for that? I’m about to recruit Gheb, and if he can use Lockpicks, I’m considering benching both O’Neill and Bazba for him in favor of role compression. If not, which units can use Lockpicks?
Brigands aren’t thieves in the hack. Bone and Bazba specifically get the thief skills, not the brigand class. Reading the ingame guide entry you unlock when they appear, I realize it’s unclear on this front lol
Other than them, assassins were given the ability to steal in the hack as well as use lockpicks (this is stated in the guide entry as well), and there’s one more thief unit you can get later down the line, for a total of 5 potential thieves. Which is… a crapton, come to think of it, but hey, the more the merrier.
Do you have plans for one?
Or will FE7 Elibe be the lucky one to escape the Ruben-Verse? XD
Oh. Well that’s a little disappointing but oh well. Guess I’ll promote Zabba to an Assassin – Sacred Stones Swordmasters aren’t the best anyhow. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
To be completely honest, I am not a fan of FE7. I’m not categorically denying it but I’d certainly be a lot less hyped to work on FE7 than I was on FE6 and 8.
Streaming in about 30 min come watch your favorite characters be massacred and probably some bosses too.
Fire Emblem 8 blind Iron Man
Just curious why you are not a big fan of FE7?
This is a tough but enjoyable game. I was doing the typical farming arena in Chapter 5, Aias after having gotten Riev to 20, and a myridon with 1% chance crit and defeated Aias.
Back when i first started hacking (i think nightmare was all we had) i tried my hand at switching all the characters with bosses for FE7. Didnt touch the story at all just made it so youd recruit all the bad guys and face the good guys like you have in your games.
I made Lloyd, Linus and Uther the lords with Nargal as your prepromote
Can a dual ending be added for Leon
Say, how do supports work? Are we still limited to a 5 Support cap for each unit? Do I have to carefully manage which of my units I should let talk each chapter? For instance, Melina can support with both Selena and McGregor. Can she get an A-Support with both, or should I pick one of them to get that A-Support?
Supports in this game are mostly conversation-locked. On each chapter, some units will have a talk conversation with another unit, most of which will result in support rank increase. There’s no 5-support cap like in vanilla, and every character will have a fixed possible support in every play through. However, since all supports in this game can only be triggered on a certain chapter, they are permanently missable. (And some B and A rank support required that you did their C support in the earlier chapter, meaning that if you miss their C support, their B and A supports are gone too.)
So, you don’t have to worry about support cap. You have to worry about fielding characters in the chapter they have a talk conversation if you wanna obtain all support instead. Good luck doing that in Chapter 22
Ominous! ![]()
Hahah, thanks, cap’n
Oh boy this was a doozy, at the time i’m posting this it’s 4 am, but it was worth it to see the last chapters, i have to say that i had an absolute blast playing this game, i enjoyed princess lament and fe6 with bad guys but this one is definetly your best proyect so far, the characterization of the cast was on point, and i loved every single one of them (except gheb, because fuck him). This is actually the first time i do one of this “final team” posts and i’m lazy to get proper screenshots so don’t mind the fact that i don’t have windows activated lol
Da final team (spoilers obviously)
This is my lyon ending team (i refuse to do fomortiis ending), i had to make some last minute adjustments because i hitted the convo cap (don’t ask how) when caellach and glen defected and stole all my weapons (vidofnir included, i hate my life)
The man, the myth, the (evil) legend himself, lyon was a beast overall on my playthrough, and once he got the dark stone, he pretty much solo’d everything bar the twins, i used a juno fruit to juice up and capitalize on some extra levels before the end
I had a mild panic attack when he died, but when i saw him back as a deathgoyle i was pleasantly surprised, amazing unit overall, only downside is that he lost his bow rank (30 minutes farming in tower of valni down the drain)
Evil snek woman, the slight 4th wall breaks and her weird relationship with valter won her a spot on my final team, also, you can NOT namedrop loptous and expect me to just move on after that, now you need to make an FE4 bad guys edition hackrom (don’t, i know how hard is to code FE4-5)
The other redhead swordmaster since good ol’ josh kicked the bucket, she was a last minute addition since my audhulma user (caellach) just dipped, but she gained some godly level ups in chapter 29 so she earned her spot
Heh heh heh, the funny old man, not gonna lie, he was one of my most hated generals in vanilla FE8, idk why, but the way you wrote his character and the unique friendship that blossomed between riev and selena made me see him on a new light, he was my ivaldi user and packed some serious punch
I’m always a sucker for the camus of the game, i always love whenever a hack lets me get my hands in playing them, and selena was no exception, sending both her and riev always yielded great results, and she was a strong contestant for being my excalibur user, but someone else got that priviledge, still awesome overall
Flute guy, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan i hate myself for missing one of deni’s convos, he never managed to overcome the cursed flute, and when i saw his ending i fetl legit sad, but besides that, he was surprisingly a monster in the battlefield, i just left him alone on a tile with avoid and he nos-tanked like a champ
And the reason why selena didn’t get her hands on excalibur was because of this little girl, the second unit who got the juno fruit, she was very frail and i almost thought about benching her, but i decided to give her a chance, and after training her in the tower of valni she ended up as a pretty solid unit, child soldiers FTW
Hayden who? Ngl i never expected to use this character, let alone use her as my nidhogg user, i was this close to just promoting her to fighter but then i saw a coment here about how they got no snipers aside from hayden so i decided to promote her to sniper, and she delivered arrows with deadly force, she actually got the final hit on eirika in the final chapter after lyon somehow missed a fucking 92 (if i could make a compilation of RNGsus screwing me over FE it would be at least 1 hour long)
What do i have to say, i like my manaketes, and morva is a manakete, go figure lol
The only reason bone ended on my final team was because of his support with zabba, he ended up being a pretty good garm user and both of them swipped the entire left area of chapter 28, he got a little too silly
Me and the bad bitch i pulled up by being goofy, she was a monstrous assassin, and with shamshir she pretty much killed anything she faced with lethality, her personal sword also helped a lot
A pretty deadly staff bot, she didn’t see to much action ironically but she held her ground pretty good whenever she was in danger, only reason she didn’t use latona was because mansel was there lol
Speaking of the devil, mansel was the staff bot of the last chapters, thought he got to kill a bunch of stuff on his own, i used him primarily to spam latona and other staffs
Finaly we have this guy, not a lot to say about vigarde, it was another last minute addition since two of my mainstays defected after lyon slapped fomortiis ass (though he tanked a hit of ephraim at the end thanks to great shield, so i guess it worked out at the end)
Special mention goes to my renac, after i got the fell contract from the shaddy guy he became a terror on combat as an assassin, but on 26x i accidentally left him in range of l’arachel and he got jill’d, i know i could have recruited him back but if was funny so i decided to let him die as part of the good guys (it was not easy tho, an assassin with a killing edge on a mountain is no fucking joke)
Spoiler
Does Morva get some infinite use weak monster weapon later in the game ? Not wretched air but weaker.
