The fact that Darius has a separate recruitment conversation when Francine talks to him fills me with joy. Not sure if you’d call that an Easter Egg, but either way it’s hilarious
Looking at my roster. Apparently I forgot to recruit Horton. Not sure how that happened.
Oh well, I already have too many sword users as it is.
Hey, quick question.
Summary
Can you speak to Gamliel on chapter 17 with Jenna? I didn’t include her in my party for that chapter, but I’m assuming she’d recognize him. Also, this isn’t my first time playing the game, so don’t worry about spoilers. I’ve already cleared the game once.
Spoiler
You can, and she does recognize him. The convo ends with her trying to kill him, and him warping out of the map before she can do so.
Figures, that’s about what I was expecting. Kinda bummed that I missed it, so thanks for filling me in.
Quick question;
Summary
In Final-3: Maximillian, does the ending dialogue change depending on the order Fuwades and Maximillian are defeated in?
Can you send the ups patch?
I can´t! Its not permited by the rules of the community
Spoiler
No. There is a minor change in dialogue during the chapter if you do it but it’s nothing special. Once both are down, things carry on like usual.
ayoo @TytheBub my man are you active on discord?
Random question, but before I give Afa’s drops to Shermie, does it change who appears in the history screen like in the base game? Or does it just improve growths and nothing else?
It only improves your growth rates.
Aw, that’s sad to hear.
Is it possible to S-rank multiple weapon types? Trying to get S-rank dark on my tactician, but I already s-ranked anima with him before and now I’m worried that I’ll be locked out of using that tome for him
Also Orion is busted
It uses FE7 as a base, so I think it is locked to one S rank weapon type per unit.
Yeah, that’s what I thought. Oh well, at least REDACTED comes with S-ranks in all three ranks, so they can use those tomes instead.
Hey there! Made an account just to say I’m really enjoying the hack so far. I’ve been playing it Ironman and by Chapter 16, I’ve only had four deaths. I blame streamer brain.
So, I played this a while ago & I have a share of… I guess suggestions on some changes if you’ll update it ever.
(As a bit of a beforehand: I didn’t beat it because after chapter 17 just felt… eh…)
Here’s my critiques (incoming text wall):
- My honest critique despite not finishing it:
Bads:
It deviates a good share from the normal FE Formula, especially if you’re coming into it from having played games like fe7/fe6/fe8.
Money economy is so horrifically scarce that I feel like a few more gems would help, especially in the earlier chapters, or some form of an arena (Hell, even if it were in a map with a set time limit). EXP also feels scarce and hard to get since some units, whilest raising them feel like they come to a grinding halt at times in how much they gain. The secret shop in the alternate chapter 16 also feels extremely useless because of the aforementioned issue with money. Unless you have specifically spent jack-nothing up until that point, you basically cannot buy anything.
The units in it either fill their roles well, or fall off so unreasonably fast that certain chapters kinda just force you to deploy who’s best & give you no time to let those units catch up.
Enemy phase feels extremely hard, like, you have to have a dodge-tank or enemy-phase is unplayable in certain chapters, Speaking of certain chapters…
Chapter 15-1 - 15-3 feel unplayable without a res bot. Yes, you get plenty up until that point but you run into the problem of: “Not everyone will use those units specifically”. After taking a look at physical units growths, Nobody has a good enough res growth to support a “Physical unit that can take on magic units” role at all. Speaking of growths…
Certain units feel like they either get nothing each level or they get 3 stats and that’s all. Some units feels new levels of just… bad and others dwarf them entirely in some areas, or you run into Ephraim syndrome where your lord(s) become your best unit(s) and you only use them.
Goods: The levels flow well for what they’re worth. Certain maps have their good points & bad points. All of them felt good except for the snow fog of war map, which is an awful combination to begin with (edited)
but I digress, it was still rather fun. Maybe except for the chapter where Volga chases you, that one is still, atleast imo, a map that feels awful if you don’t try and just LTC style play through it & only use fliers.
Units look good, I know it isn’t a shining feature of hacks, but no real unit is “ugly” in terms of design, and none of the palettes are awful, and look well on the units they’re on. Class variety is good too, you get a good share of units that can fill rolls and a share that can also fill an empty slot, though some feel like they dwarf others well, entirely. (See: Fiana vs the other two pegasi)
Hitrates (except with orion) don’t feel like I’m playing fe6 Hard mode. Enemies can be hit & a bunch of luck isn’t required to get kills at times. Early on doesn’t feel awful either since you get a share of good hitrate sword units, even later on they’re useful. Francine herself is useful too when dealing with enemies as a whole, you go girl.
All in all, I feel like it could use a bit of a touch up & it could work! I do know you said you intentionally limited 1-2 but I feel like that kills the playability a lot & makes certain chapters, especially in the early game, REALLY hard to play
Well, I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it enough to finish it but thanks speaking your mind on what you did play. I won’t be updating the game anymore as I’ve felt I’ve tinkered with it long enough. At this point, I’d rather take what I’ve learned and apply it to future projects. Thanks again.
That’s fine. I was wanting to know if I could make a few changes to it? (Nothing HUGE) Maybe try and see what it would look like if some things were adjusted whilest keeping it as close to form to what your hack was like originally?
Also, I am excited to see what future things you’re making! I’d enjoy playing them whenever they come out.
