Should be fixed now!

You know what. Never mind, I don’t think I have to do it. Like I don’t have anything in the works. I could just maybe submit one thing or something.
Don’t worry, the newest game in my series is in the works. Just you wait! It will be another experimental game that is barely fire emblem. Yay.

Wow, we’re here already???

Maybe Demo/Trailer 2 will be for the E3 after all…

Edit: I noticed the Interview thing, could we do a showcase AND an interview, or would you prefer one or the other? I rather liked that text ā€œinterviewā€ from last year, and I’d love to take part in something like that again.

This is an interesting question. I think ā€œTrailer + Interviewā€ would be allowed (EDIT: IF that trailer was passed off to us before the submission deadline - we wouldn’t be making it for you), if they are to be uploaded as the same video, but ā€œInterview + Gameplay Showcaseā€ or something like that seems like it’d really easily run into runtime issues. As for text interviews, I suppose I wouldn’t mind if somebody would like to do such a thing over DMs and append it to their existing submission in some fashion. I’m not sure if I’d like to make those an official thing FEE3 is doing though, so much as a ā€œso long as not too many people are asking, I’m willing to swap DMs for a bit while I’m doing other work.ā€ There’d reach a point where if too many people asked, I’d just have to start saying no, though, so… :woman_shrugging: I’ll think about it a bit more.

Makes sense. I think I had meant ā€œTrailer + Interviewā€, but it’s like… almost 6AM where I’m at and I am understandably, very tired.

Thinking about it is good, I guess we’ll find out in due time.

I’ve submitted a link but I filled out the form looking for proof of a UPS incorrectly. I can PM the UPS to someone, or if it’s easier, fill out the form again.

Feel free to DM the link to GultyKappa so it can be added to our spreadsheet along with the rest of your submission. Make sure you specify which submission it’s for, though

Ah yeah, this is what I’m talking about. I should definitely have double the chapters I had last year by the time FEE3 rolls out again. I’m looking forward to seeing some trailers for both new and pre-existing projects!

In the immortal words of Asaph Fire Emblem:
ā€œLet’s keep it up, baby!ā€

Hmm, I might try participating in this for once and showcase my recent release. Don’t know exactly what my submission would look like, but the opportunity is there now. Also comes at an awkward time for me but I could probably make it work with a deadline as lenient as that. Probably wouldn’t do the interview though, just the submission.

FEE3! The best time of the year

I might to do something for this year, if divine inspiration comes and gifts me something like last year (fun fact, the idea and the whole script for The Art of Bossing was written in just one day. I was really inspired). Either way, this year will be my last one, so might as well end it with a bang!

Going to somewhat lazily copy/paste a discord message to clarify an overview of the plans for the interviews:

Please DM me for any clarifications you need wrt this facet of the event.

15 years ago, myself and our Skype group of ROM hackers (dubbed Team OVERTROLL) were anxiously waiting to see if the recently released Mystery of the Emblem remake would be announced for release in the west. At the time, the series was struggling. With recent sales under-performing and no word on whether the latest entry in the series would be released outside of Japan and no announcement of a new game imminent at the time, the future of Fire Emblem was in doubt.

E3 came and went with no news on FE12 or a new Fire Emblem game for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS. So, we decided to take matters into our own hands. If we couldn’t get Fire Emblem at the real E3, we would have our own E3 with blackjack and hookers.

The Fire Emblem ROM hacking and fan game scene was starting to blossom as a niche subforum on Serenes Forest prior to the creation of FEU. If Intelligent Systems and Nintendo, with the future of the series in doubt, wouldn’t satiate our thirst for more content – well, then we would do it ourselves as fans.

We dubbed it FEE3, ā€œthe E3 that Fire Emblem fans have been waiting for.ā€

The inaugural event featured the heavy-hitters of its era: Dream of Five, Elibean Nights, Tactics Universe (later renamed to The Last Promise), Decay of the Fangs, the Sun God’s Challenge, FE7x, a fan translation of FE12, and more. I worked to organize it, and the event was hosted by Seph1212 (now known as SnakeMomMelissa).

This was prior to the announcement of Fire Emblem Awakening, which would come in September 2011. We now know that FE13 would revitalize the series after facing the threat of cancellation if the game failed to sell more than 250,000 units. The fears that we had as fans were true, and it’s wild to think about what the future might have been if FE13 hadn’t been such a smashing commercial success… There is an alternate universe where FE13 didn’t catch fire, and we as fans would have been the ones left to carry the torch of Fire Emblem.

Although I am now retired from the scene, I check in on y’all from time to time – and I still tune in to watch FEE3 every year. To see this event still going strong 15 years later, and to see how far the ROM hacking and fan game scenes have come compared to where we were in 2011, fills my heart with pride and joy.

Thank you @Olivia for organizing this special event. I know that it takes a lot of work, especially with how massive the scene has become in recent years. The sheer volume of projects and scale of what this event has become would have been unfathomable to us back in 2011.

Cheers to a great show in the year 2025!
