Because many Chinese players have cleared this version,so although there are some bugs,I still hope to continue translating this version.I hope this hack can be understood by more Chinese players.I have sinicized four chapters,More than 10000 players are already looking forward to this game.If you update a new version, then,Our players will actively experience that version without translation because they are already familiar with it and like it.Thank you for your reply and look forward to final version of TotF!
I’ll let you know once it’s finished!
Im loving this hack but unfortunatly my emulator crashes during sylvester backstory sequenz after the slime dungeon.
Id hate having to skip such a vital part of the story. if someone could summarize this cutscene for me I would really appreciate it.
Hi! Thanks for reaching out.
Try patching this rom (if you’re comfortable with doing that in the middle of a playthrough):
If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, or just don’t feel like going through the trouble, here’s a summary (the cutscene itself is very lengthy, so this summary will be as well):
SPOILERS AHEAD
After this argument with his father, Sylvester leaves the house, followed by Zweite who felt Sylvester was in the right and following him was the right thing to do. Back to the present day, he explains to the others he actually tried several different jobs but that always ended up failing so he eventually chose to try his luck as a brigand.
Next, Arya tells the others about a boy she fell in love with. Both of them were in a relationship for a few months until they spent a night in a lonely cabin. Taking advantage of Arya’s emotional vulnerability, the boy tried to uuh get his ways with her. Thankfully Dick and Blink (the white-haired boy I’m currently using as my pfp) arrive and interrupt them before it’s too late.
Finally, we see a flashback of Arnold back when he was in prison. We see how he met with the oldest members of the group he murdered earlier, and how he “sacrificed” himself to buy them time by singlehandedly fighting off guards. He then tells Sylvester, Arya and Zweite what he did before meeting them, which starts an argument on what to do with him, as Zweite and Arya are understandably shocked and terrified. Eventually, it’s agreed to let everyone vote, and Arnold ends up becoming a prisonner (again).
This is pretty much all that happens. The next chapter begins a little less than a year later.
Hi, I’m currently checking out your hack. I was wondering though why Cazadora has this white spot on her nose in battle?
Oh, that’s because in the myrmidons battle animation, the lightest color for the face is the same color as the white from the sword, so I couldn’t fix that without changing the swords color to brown, unfortunately…
How many chapters is your hack?
There’s a total of 24 chapters, plus 2 “interlude” chapters during the earlygame, with no enemy and simple dialogues between your units.
Should I download the 100% less softlocks patch or now you can see the funny scene patch?
If you don’t feel like switching midway through, I recommend the “now you can see the funny scene” version.
Be aware that this version includes a thoroughly rewritten prologue so look out for bugs.
Quick question: on battle 2, is Zweite not supposed to have a weapon? Great mod so far though.
Yes, both Zweite and Sylvester start out without weapons (since they’re in jail). Sylvester can get one by simply talking to Achille, and Zweite can get one from the archer who drops one nearby
Ohhh, thanks for telling me that. I wad confused…
In chapter 3, right outside the arena, are you supposed to kill Stoneharm or no?
Once he appears, you have to kill him. There’s two ways you can do it:
- If they’re strong enough you can use Zweite, Magam and maybe even Cazadora to deal enough damage to him (+refresh one of them with Jess)
- Alternatively, since he doesn’t move, you can just take either Zweite or Magam, rescue-drop him out of danger and repeat.
By the way, I suggest you join the hack’s discord server, it’ll be easier to communicate this way!
Does Salvatore change class, like Merlinus did? Should I spend Hundreds of turns having him dodge this spear wielder on the train to make him an efficient dodge tank? Or will he just level up at the end of the level?
Don’t worry about having to level him up, he’s a temporary unit and will stop participating in battles as soon as you unlock battle preparations (which means he basically remains playable for a grand total of 2 chapters)
Can you tell me the address of text【??a】and【??b】,which is Alex’s hobbies
The text adresses are 129D, 129C and 129B, but they’ve all been occupied by entire dialogue conversations. This is a bug nobody has reported before, and I will fix this as soon as possible, thanks for telling me!
Ok finished the hack today and omigod theres soo muchgood, but i does come with a LOT of negative.
Long story short: Amazing story and characters drag down by poor gameplay decisions and lotsa bugs. Still amazing and worth playing through for the story alone.
Long story but not short: (no story spoilers until i discuss the bad ((will warn when)) and i will discuss gameplay moments and name characters)
The good:
The world you have build here is simply incredible, the story hook me in on the prologue all the way till the end, the characters are all wonderful in their own way and you go to great lenghts to keep the other side characters revelant throughout the story by giving them little moments sprinkled in. Spritework is also fanatastic you truly gave it a 110% on everyone, important or not, some jokes got me giggling and i truly was invested in this group. Fun map design, and the Interludes where a lot of fun to catch up with the entire squad.
The bad:
The gameplay itself, the difficulty is all out of wack. At the beginning is fine but the more you go the more easy it becomes, unpromoted enemy’s seem to not be able to keep up and become non threats even to recently recruited units. On the other hand promoted units are absolutely busted with the firsts generals having almost capped defense or warriors and berserker with almost capped strenght yet they also start struggling to keep up with your army after a little while, they dont seem to grow much, game tries to remedy this by pitting you agaisnt hoards of enemy with high crit rate which there never is a good way to deal with execpt pray they dont crit which is not fun.
BUGGSSS AAHHH, thieves apparently are excelent swimers and have pass even though they dont have it as a skill, same with other random characters like Armaduro. Ludmilla is actually broken in bot ways, if you dont want the game freezing everytime she sings she needs to have animations on, and even so cant use any of the rings without the game crashing no matter what. I coudnt get the legendary axe in chapter 20 because the door wouldnt open with an unlock staff and when i got Velvet to try picking it, it just did the sound but never opened and sadly didnt have the warp on me and couldnt warped due to not having a convoy and leaving it there after it left, i was forced to use Arya and chipped the final boss with her Prf weapon and rally strength, thank god for berserker crits, text would randomly not be visible, when Theodore switches sides you can still control him after that, made the HUGE mistake of attacking one of my own with him making the game crash and having to do EVERYTHING AGAIN, when Brutus appears again on chapter 19, he has the exact same stats as he had 10 chapters ago making him a complete pushover. And more i probably missed. (Spoilers for upcoming section)
And unresolved plot lines, what did Magam do? Whats the deal with Yami’s father, whats the creature in his basement, what happened to Gladioz after the incident, the game loves reminding us that Sylvester defeated him but he never shows up again, unless he died but it didnt seem like it to me, Ambrose joins the army yet says nothing to the main gang after battle even though he nows Sylvester? What happened to Caiou (the honorable skeleton general) after taking over the castle, the artifact that Sylvester wanted to see what was it? I assume its the bracelt Aster had but its bot clear. And most importantly WHO IS THIS PRINCESS SYLVESTER HAS BEEN TALKING TO THE WHOLE GAME??? Like bruh atleast tell me when she came from, and also the white hair kid just happens to be with the group in the current time. And also who the Golem was though i assume you figure it out if you pit him agaisnt Boneface or maybe in one of the 2 recordings i couldnt read due to the afformention door bug on chapter 20, (its jeoffrey ((probably)), disliking watermelons is something that stayed with me, maybe Suzanne talked with it but she died the chapter before, oops)
And dissapointed with the ease of the last 2 chapters, there were no suprises, enemys had standard weapons and a lot of them where stationary, heck there where barely any enemys. At the end point you want to challenge the player, maybe i downloaded the easy difficulty cuz there was no options at the beginning for the diffculty.
Neutral:
The whole no mounts is weird especially with so many characters, getting the 5th mage, 5th cleric, 5th myrmidon, that sometimes barely destinguish from each other is annoying, on the other hand this hack is amazing for ironmans.
Overall, 6.5/10, 5 of those is the story hard carrying the hack, making me push through the game, 1.5 of those points is due to the gameplay not being bad at all even with all the criticism theres a lot of good ideas here, but im not replaying this, never especially those crashes, they will forever haunt me. Though nothing agaisnt you man, your truly a talented writer and developer with a passion, a please never stop trying to improve you truly have something wonderful here and im sure you can make sooo much more. Thx to anyone who read this through even with the complaining this is my favorite story ive seen in a FE hack ever and im very passionate about it.
Uhh, as per the unresolved plot. some of that is due to revisions, and most of it is intentional.
Remember, the entire story is contextualized as Sylvester telling a story, as such many details are left out because he either, A, doesn’t know or B, doesn’t care.
As far as the princess, that IS actually sorta explained. If i remember correctly, one chapter has you seeing refuge in the remains of a kingdong who’s knights are on edge, find out sylvester is the “terror of the forest” and he has to fight his way out due to the knights also deciding today is the day for their military coup.
Now remember the princess mentions her entire kingdom collapsed when her military fell apart?
Which again is more to say details aren’t ment to be sylvesters strong suite.
