Fixed, thanks for catching that. Please let me know if you see any other portraits with graphical issues like that, or misaligned eye/mouth frames, etc.

I wanted the game to stay Vanilla and only swap Seth and Orson but if you choose Characters ‘Vanilla’ you can not swap any units at all.

Choose “Players Reordered” for characters, then under “preview chars”, choose “reset page” to change everyone on that page to the vanilla character.

After pressing Reset Page:

There’s also another way. You can start the game normally, go to the menu and then in “preview chars” to make the desired changes and “reload players” right after to apply them. Figured it by trial and error with the FE7 version

But if you do that with random skills your skills will go back to vanilla found that out as well so make sure to reload if you ever go in that menu
( if you need for any reason to skip chapters just turn on the debugger and keep it on for the rest of the game)

Oh yeah, you’re right. I was referring mostly to no skills and more vanilla-like runs (like not changing too much stuff). Sorry for not specifying

Yeah mind you it only happens if you end up going to the config menu so just don’t go in the config menu once you have settings set up.

I apologize, Vesly. Unfortunately, I am unable to accomplish this task. I have explored every possible option to keep the game in its vanilla state and alter only a single unit; however, whenever I modify one unit, all other units are inadvertently affected as well.

It looks like I accidentally broke the ability to set everyone to vanilla this way in a recent update. I’ll fix it sometime this week, sorry.

Edit: @MarcusAurelius it should be fixed now.

Great! Thank you Vesly.
I also have a suggestion. is it possible to turn off units?
For example if I choose to play FE8 vanilla and I want to turn the Seth unit ‘off’? That this unit will not appear in this run?

I can’t do that exactly, but you can kill off units with the debugger very easily to prevent them from being used.

I just started the Randomiser and noticed that the default class of Seliph is Mercenary instead of Junior Lord. Is it planned to include all classes of all Fire Emblem games in the future?

Depends on what gets added by who and how much space is left so aka maybe but not grantee unless of course you suggest a class on the discord  (and even then maybe)

I’m personally not going out of my way to add new stuff to this anymore. Just fixing bugs and overseeing contributions that other people make. I accept pull requests and folders of files prepared for me. It’s still a lot of work to just merge stuff in, so I appreciate the initiative people have been taking to contribute. I am hoping that new classes and bosses from other games will come in time.

A few people have also added a few classes to the self randomizer via febuilder. While I can’t easily merge in additions done this way, I don’t mind if versions of the self randomizers get shared around, as long as credits are included.

Hello Vesley,

I’ve just downloaded the new patch and encountered an issue. When I select “Set All to Vanilla,” the characters are initially set to “Vanilla,” but then I change them to “Players Reordered” to be able to change them individually. After I click on “Preview Units,” I reset the page for all five pages. Then, when I go to Seth, change him to FE6 Bartre, and confirm, the other units also get randomized. For example, Fado turns into a Mage-class Dozla unit or Valter changes to Joshua even though I did not told the game to change any bosses.
Am I missing something, or am I simply being clumsy? Why can’t I manage to keep the game 100% Vanilla FE8, and only change a single unit?

Thanks for your help!

And I also noticed that you can not change Orson in 5x or the 10 Creature Campaign units. And there is only a Supply of 100 and not 200 available.

I love these Self Randomizers. I just finished FE7 with Eliwood rolled into Flayn as a Cleric and finding heal staves was epically difficult.

I’m getting into the FE8 randomizer now and it’s so cool to see skills. One issue I found.

The cunning skill doesn’t allow a character to open doors and chests with lockpicks. :frowning:

As an additional note, one of my characters was rolled into a class that is a literal boat. I turned off monsters. How do I unselect boats? Lol

Edit: Pictures available upon demand. I tried including them but I got an error.

you have to comment more first, then you can send images

This skill is avoided when randomizing - did you get it from a skill scroll, perhaps? The skill actually does nothing - the ability to use lockpicks is still tied to thieves.

You don’t. :sailboat:

oh, also I added danger bones to this :skull_and_crossbones:
