Hello, it’s me again. I’m still working on this, trying to create the definitive version of this, and this time, I decided to check what we’ll need to be faithful with FE7, what am I talking about? simple, something I call ā€œFE7’s Special Effectsā€ some of them appear as ASM in the code of FE7 so I would like if you know something about this I’ll grateful to read you.
Well, let’s start with the list I wanted was so explicit but while I was writing I had some problems with the page so I’ll try to be short (but if you want more info maybe I’ll write all super specific on Discord, or send me a DM).

  • Spawn Assassin/Thief
    Check the next three options
    a) Mokha’s hack, but only have assassin spawn
    b) Teq’s Hack
    With these two options, there is a command I don’t understand SETVAL/SVAL, I don’t know how I use it in FEBuilder (even you can find some messages mine in his threads asking for this, or 2WB trying to help me but I didn’t get to understand what tried to mean) also when I install them and try to use them the game freezees
    c) MapDrawPatch, but with this I didn’t like the result

  • Quintessence Gathering
    Thanks to Eebit I can add this effect to the game but for some reason stops while should continue during a conversation in specific Elbert’s Death for other events don’t have this kind of things.

  • Screen Shake Ch19E/Ch20H (after 100 commands)
    This is weird when the game reaches the shake screen command this freezes the screen, I’ve checked it, and looks like only gives the error after 100 commands in the events (I tested it in FE8 vanilla, and only gives graphic errors). Do you know something about this?

  • Dragon’s Gate shows portal or dragon Ch19/20H

Honestly, i think it’s fine as it is, i know you do it for the sake of accuracy to the original FE7 but at this point i think it’s a bit of a nitpick IMO

In these days the game will finally be completed. We are launching the last patches in Discord. After that I’ll launch the patch, but I want someone create a trailer for this project (and if possible of REX6 too), if anyone wants to help me witth that trailer send me a DM here or in Discord.

A lot of these effects could be achieved the with Draw Sprite Animation patch by Vesly. You can call specific effects from this patch via events.

Heres a tip: in some emulators, you can toggle individual sprite layers (I use VBA-m). And you can use this to extract certain sprites that you can’t find in the ROM. You could use this to get the sprite for Ninian’s Ice attack, as well as other effects.

The Thief/Assassin spawn effect can also be implemented with this. The graphics for it are in the repo, I believe.

It’s really easy to use. Just look at Vesly’s post. Again, it has a standalone FEBuilder patch.

You can call an event that displays an animation up to 64x64 pixels in specific coordinates on the map. And you can make your own.

I created an account just to message you all. I love what you guys are doing so far and im just curious as to where you guys are in the completion of this hack. I also seem to have an issue that i wanted to see if you could help with. I started lyn mode on hard and just completed it. When it gives me the choice of Eliwood or hector. I make my choice but it does not seem to register the map change and i cant advance the story.

I heard that this project is completed but I don’t see the link on the discord server regarding the patch. When is the official release gonna be ready? :o

Did you check the #β-versions channel? That’s where we publish the latest patches

I want to say soon, but as always, it’s hard to say, because I still have to add some things, and the people make the test, and I hope I don’t have to redo it one more time (this project has passed around two or three rewrites since 0).
