The way I see it, his retirement kept him away from fighting for a while, which made him rusty and the tier 1 class represents that. But, I wouldn’t complain about him being buffed either lol
Maybe make him a warrior or if you are confused then you can always use poll for that.
He always deserved the respect because even in game supports, Gilliam, one of the best units of this game respects him for his strength. There’s nothing in this game implying that he fell off from his glory.
Gerik, who is a literal beast, fears and respects Garcia as the “God of War”.
If anything he is supposed to be the goal that Ross aspires to reach through this journey. Just like Ike and Greil. But what really happens is that Ross easily surpasses way beyond Garcia.

Edit: Tana’s new battle sprite is amazing, by the way. She doesn’t keep it after promotion, sadly. A pity that Colm doesn’t get the same assasin battle sprite he had in The Sacred Trilogy, but Joshua does so that’s fine.

I forget what sprite Colm had in Sacred Trilogy, but assassins were a bit weird since I had to find one that had a knife throwing animation.

Sniper Neimi does have short hair! Currently she uhhhh, freezes the game if she attacks at one range, but I’ve fixed that and it’ll be fixed in the next release lol

Did you promote her with the Lunar Brace or the promo event in Chapter 25? I just checked and accidentally put the wrong class ID for the Lunar Brace. (The class ID I initially had her on has a weird, rare glitch that I experienced where for some reason if a unit reaches level 5 in their last encounter or something, and then sips a vulnerary, they learn the skill in that class ID’s slot? I was playtesting and Kyle randomly learned Aether after healing and I was VERY confused lmao) This should be fixed in the next patch.

Most of them are small fixes (hopefully you haven’t promoted Eirika with the Lunar Brace lol) so you won’t be missing too much, but if you start a fresh playthrough there should be a number of changes. I’ll post a patch when I get home from work.
Have you been playing on Maddening mode? I’m curious how the game balance feels. It’s been kicking my ass in some parts even tho I made the dang thing, but I’m notoriously bad at Fire Emblem so I’m not sure if it’s just a Me thing lol
Not yet, intend to finish hard mode first. I’ll give it a run then.
One suggestion I have is maybe rebalancing weapon weight? I’m specifically looking at Magic. Generally speaking I feel they got it right with magic weight in FE6 and while I understand tweaking it to accommodating for how enemy density and enemy phase is much less dense in FE7 and FE8, I feel like they went WAY too far. Like Divine weighing 12 in vanilla 7 & 8 will never not be stupid to me. I think maybe 1 less weight for weapons and 2 less for magic across the board might be fine and a happy medium? Again just a suggestion, up to you if you consider it.
Honestly that’s not a bad idea. I already lowered the weight of Dark tomes because seriously wtf lol, but yeah I might rework the weapon weight for tomes.
Edit to avoid double-posting: New patch is live! I made a fair number of changes in this one, the main one being the overhaul of tome weights. But I also changed Bonez in Phantom Ship to a generic enemy that then spawns Bonez as a blue unit after he’s defeated, to avoid any confusion.
I was thinking of buffing Lyra a bit. I already bumped up her speed and HP stats just a bit, but I was thinking of turning her into a Druid instead of a Shaman. She’s supposed to be on the same level as Saleh, more or less, so it makes sense that she’d be in a Tier 2 class. She also suuuuuuucks in every playthrough I’ve done so far lol What do you guys think?
