UPDATE: With help from UltraxBlade, I’ve managed to find the actual reason for the bug, and no it wasn’t fixed yet. Now it hopefully is, I have updated the patch. The problem was in the chapter’s starting cutscene, which leaves a hidden unit that prevents the rout condition from being successfully activated.
This does unfortunately mean that one needs to redo the chapter, and specifically rewatch the starting cutscene, to fix the bug.
Hacking wise, this has probably the most tense, but also the most fun one and a half months. I want to feel satisfied with the result, but I also felt really anxious throughout - because what if there’s something I forgot to check for or accidentally overwrote and bricked something I wouldn’t know until that [complete] label is added and the whole world sees it. That, hopefully, did not happen, and I really do feel proud at myself.
As of today, Life of Seiros is officially [COMPLETE]! It is completable from start to finish. You can now play from the very beginning, from Nemesis’s march on Zanado, all the way to his demise in the Tailtean Plains in the epilogue.
Of course, that does not mean that my work here is completely over. There are still optional support convos to write (you can see the list of completed support convos in the OP), assuredly bugs to fix and balance to improve, and overall tinkering which may or may not be needed in various chapters.
But it’s complete! Honestly, I didn’t expect this day to come. I have a tendency to work on projects and not see them to completion - but I sat down and finished it all the way to the end, and I am frankly really happy with what I’ve written.
For one more time - hope you all enjoy the hack!
EDIT: “That, hopefully, did not happen” it did happen! fixed the chapter 1 boss being unbeatable.
No, not at all! It’s a prequel set a thousand years earlier, so the plot points of the three routes are irrelevant. Generally knowing the basics about the world (like what are Crests, what is Sothis, what are the Nabateans, etc.) helps, but I tried to make the plot as clear as possible even to someone who never played Three Houses.
Great to hear! I’m excited to play this then cuz I only played through 1 route of 3 houses(Edelgards route) so I do have an understanding of crests and sothis).
For the most part the only spoilers that somebody who hasn’t played 3H would be that Seiros, Cichol and Cethleann physically return as Rhea, Seteth and Flayn but that is literally impossible to avoid due to lore reasons
