[FE8] Iron Emblem: Gaiden [COMPLETE]

Thanks but.

Summary

This text will be hiddenas i said, i like 300 so am okey with the ending is just that games that ends like that leave an afterbtaste that i not like, the fact that their figth meant something is great.

Ps: Funny enough i got to the 50 turn.

Really solid game overall, 4 out of 5 for me! I liked the resource management, and the overview system is excellent. The stories that come from generics are wonderful.

Summary

In the final chapter, I heard that it would be a slaughter, so I deployed my lieutenant by himself with the headcanon that he would provide a distraction for the others to slip away and survive. I know that’s not the intention, but it felt in the spirit of keeping with the story, and made the “army was slaughtered strangely easily” historical record feel like the lives saved were lost to history. I was pretty satisfied with this, but I think that somebody without warning might not like that final chapter, and it’s a small blemish against an otherwise excellent game in my eyes.

It should be noted that that ending text depends on how well you do in that final map. You got the worst one because you intentionally threw.

Personally, I think that final map is one of the defining features of IEG, or at least of its lategame. My only problem with the final chapter is that it’s too easy, making surviving out to 50 turns or even longer pretty feasible.

If you are interested in a brighter ending, I wrote one after surviving to 50 turns with +10 autolevels on promoted enemies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYh4cDeeWE0

Will there ever be a reverse recruitment?

Probably not.
