This isn’t very relevant, but clearly we need to test this redux with a draft race. Clearly me with like two runs one of which was an early version can outcompete you Shiina not me coping.
I appreciate the sentiment but your expectations of me are too high LOL, I’m not really suited to draft races stuff (not that they arent entertaining to watch tho)
I expect Kiara to have Devil Reversal in this version tbh
She won’t, I don’t intend on fully removing the RNG as frustrating as it is because I do think it could be interesting, but I do intend to adjust AI on that map so that the odds are a bit more in your favour for her to not die.
I see
Since KFP chickens are associated with Devil skills and she’s the head of her KFP restaurant, she should have a way to easily farm KFP chickens for her restaurant
In this case it’s with her having Devil Reversal as personal skill

Today is May 4, which marks the day of Koyo!

and thus I unleash this abomination into the world

Revamped Shirakami/Kurokami transformation
How it now works:
Shirakami and Kurokami will switch their STR and MAG stats and growths upon transformation, leaning into SRKM being originally designed as the ‘physical’ swordmaster while KRKM being designed as the ‘magic’ one. Essentially, Shirakami’s STR = Kurokami’s MAG, and vice versa.
The rest of the fox’s stats will remain as they were, but the growths in them are shifted around. Levelling as Shirakami will have a higher chance to increase skill/speed/luck, while levelling as Kurokami will have a higher chance to increase bulk. These gains will transfer as is, meaning you can have a Shirakami that has gained a bunch of defense from levelling as Kuro.
Level and EXP also now transfer properly back and forth (assuming I didn’t mess something up), as does inventory. Note that Shirakami gets a skill at level 15, so if she levels to 15 as Kuro then she won’t learn anything. This edge case is a big enough mess that I don’t intend to fix it, so if you want the skill just make sure you’re hitting 15 as SRKM.
Summon bug is gone
Probably.
Character Ru-balances (because we have to be a bit extra about things)
Several characters have a slight bases and/or growths change while some others now learn certain skills earlier, or have access to a new skill.
Some other changes
Sana has been changed to an automatic recruit. However, this is a temporary one: she will not stay if you don’t have Starlight by the end of the chapter.
The Hoplite Guard originally used the Barricade skill, though I’m not sure if it’s how the skill is coded, it simply does not work on the item, rendering it useless (outdated, see below). The item has been reworked now to use Expertise, which reduces the damage taken by critical hits. It’s not exactly Iron Rune, though at least it’s partly there and it does technically improve Kiara’s survival odds in chapter 12. Speaking of which, the AI on that map has also been slightly tweaked which should allow Kiara to have an easier time not dying. (I cannot guarantee she won’t end up killing herself on the devil chicken or miss one billion hand axe hits though, but at least you should theoretically have a bit more of a chance to do something about it)
7 May edit:
It turns out I was testing Hoplite Guard wrongly and Barricade does work on a held item.
I am not changing the skill back, as I do think Expertise is a better fit for this item in terms of flavour/balance. The skill is basically useless if you don’t get doubled, but chances are if you get doubled you’re not placing your unit in range of enemy attacks, and getting doubled is also pretty questionable in a world where you already have access to Rally Speed / Spectrum by the time you have this item (in fact you should have access to the latter because the item comes with the Rally Spectrum unit)
Supports have been accelerated in general, including supports that did not have programmed growth rates. Only one support does not have a growth rate, though that pair have an innate level to start off with.
There are no new conversations (because I don’t have enough experience with these characters to write them) nor are rewards for completing most A support chains as these have not been implemented, though the bonuses themselves should work.
oo secret?!
oooooo secret
In the spirit of several hacks implementing a secret “jagen promotion” event, I have taken the liberty to implement one here for this game. Since Reine is already T3 and I’m too lazy to make a new class, she just gets to promote back into T3, but she can now get her staves access that Battle Sage is supposed to provide.
Completing several hidden requirements by the end of identity gaiden will allow you to access this secret ‘promotion’.
Have fun working out the requirements! (It’s designed so that you need to use Reine a decent amount, as the text implies)
but this is convoluted!
if anyone wants a hint, you can technically bring level 1 base reine into identity and still get out with the promotion. I cannot guarantee you will have a good time getting it though. She’s available for most of the game, you should make good use of it.
Things that are not fixed/updated
Pretty much most things in the OP, fixing those is beyond my skill scope atm.
No new portraits, I figured it’d be best for Ru to implement them by themselves in S4SD.
Miko getting the Barrier staff in chapter 2 with a full inventory will still break the convoy. I tried figuring out how to fix it but no dice.
Scroll convoy bug is not fixed and is basically impossible to fix under the current save structure. I have added a disclaimer in chapter 5 when you obtain a skill scroll from the chests in the chapter.
Leadership remains as it is in the original implementation (despite what the in-game help guide implies). I considered changing it, but I realised it actually just makes high-leadership characters like Sora or Luna even more important than they already are, so I decided to just leave it as it is and add an extra paragraph in the help guide instead.
A certain character having higher weapon ranks than intended upon promotion is not fixed. While I could fix this, this glitch happening in the first place just so happens to fit with the character’s lore, so I decided to just leave it be. It’s also funny.
now that i have done my FEU rite of passage by contributing a bad rebalance to this site it’s now my cue to escape

Update Day
Hello everyone it is I Hatsuru.
Been busy bodying and whatnot. Lets get into the meat.
Been working on a custom tileset for a few later maps. Might add more tiles in the future and RULEASE it.
In other news, this month was fixing my slump on writing, amongst other things. Collection of more boss portraits was also in effect to add more FLAVOR to HoloEmblem.
My first ever Interlude is finally done! Nothing fancy, but talking to each character will give you certain items and certain hints for later maps.
You can view the map and the basic mechanics here.
I thought of removing free move altogether (for such a small map), but I think I want to stick with conformity. Later maps will be much larger and more diverse (how fun).
These maps will also feature revamped cutscenes.
Onion/Garlic cameo will be real in 2040.
I’ve been thinking about how I want to approach a theoretical “route split”. I’ve considered making a route split where you choose where to defend a city, rather than traveling different paths. I’m not sure how in depth or how deep I would want to go with this concept, but I think the story changing to a minor amount might be a cool think to explore; a concept that would also tie into an interlude I’ve been having in mind for awhile now.
You can probably guess what I have in mind.
Anyways, bit shorter but still work is being done. Thanks everyone, and the Search for Seiso continues.
Lu-Knights exploding in 3 hits to everything again will be peak
Hey I’m doing a run on your version, Baelz just got crit+ at lvl20 though her character sheet says it’s at lvl15. Other characters like suisei and botan picked up their skill at lvl15 as expected.
I did not change the level which Baelz learns Crit+, since imo she did not need a buff. I’ll look into it but most likely what happened is Baelz and Botan’s info pages pointed to the same text string for learning Crit+ at level 20. I changed Botan crit+ to level 15 and changed the text string accordingly but must have missed out that Baelz also points to the same string.
yeah you already know Baelz is a machine she doesn’t need any power ups. Cool tho just wanted to give you the bug report and let you know your work is appreciated!
So true Ru!
New update for my patch is now live. Link remains the same.
This update is mainly meant for removing the Nullify scroll in chapter 23x, due to it utterly breaking the game if the convoy scroll glitch was applied on it (for more info refer to this post). This was originally intended to be replaced, but I was completely unsure what I wanted to replace it with, so I left it in in the original release.
After some consideration, I have decided to give the scroll a… upgrade, shall we say. This is now a passive item that can be passed around, pretty much just straight up lifting the item out of FE9. Because this effectively makes the Yab Shield redundant, I have moved it to slightly earlier in the game now.
Various other text errors such as Baelz allegedly learning Crit Boost at level 15 has also been rectified. Sorry I’m not buffing characters I consider SS rank
Extra update
I have expanded the Investigator class (Ame’s T1 class) to a level 30 cap. At level 30, Ame will learn the Nullify skill, which lets her evade effective damage from pesky slayer enemies lategame.
In a bit that is totally not inspired from a recently released Kaizo romhack of a Pokemon game, this skill cannot be learned in Detective. Detective is completely unchanged in this version, so Ame still retains Nihil in level 10 Detective, and still has a level 20 cap.
Where can I download the latest version with the updated patch?
It’s at the top. There’s a clickable link that says current version.
Just finished this based on a recommendation from Reddit. Wanted to say that this game was so much fun. I loved the characters (both in and out of combat), and the skill and classes were diverse and unique. Thanks for a great experience!
Thank you for playing! I’m glad you had fun
stream 2 is here feel free to merge if it’s considered double posting
edit:
Updated the patch once again to fix the CH4 Nene cutscene being triggered by an NPC.
Also buffed Shirakami’s base MAG because I can.
