I just finished the game on easy/seiso mode and loved the game. The early game was challenging but fair and the later chapters were fairly easy except for terrible hit rates when the enemy had 20+ leadership stars. Which you could offset by bringing characters with leadership stars of your own. I will play the game on hard mode when the next update is dropped.
Feedback:
Don’t know if this is because I played on easy mode or the late game is just not that hard but the later chapters just became walking simulators due to having capped stats and one rounding or one shotting all enemies with Bae, Laplus, Anya, and Friend c. All four off these had no problem taking on all enemies on any given chapter after chapter 19 if you trained Friend c in her joining chapter and trained Laplus in chapter 12 KPF chapter.
Friend C is like myrrh from fe8, just tanky good at one rounding enemies with an infinite use dragonstone after chapter 23x with 1-2 range. Nerfing the dragonstone from 23x to 1 range is a slight nerf to her performance.
Anya is great from base with 1-2 range weapon with infinite uses and 8 move with flying makes her very strong. A 50 use limit to both of her personal weapons make her less good.
I gave Laplus the scroll that doubles growth rates and I think paragon overrides the 1/2 exp gain you are supposed to get as she got 1 lvl from each chicken she killed. She capped all stats by the end of the game and with corona she was guaranteed to one round all enemies. Think this is a bug but otherwise nerf her exp gain.
I think Bae in particular is way to strong as she needs little investment to become game breaking simply leveling her to 5 promoted to get killing machine she gets 100% crit with Rat pack and probably close to 100% at base crit rate. With vantage scroll from chapter 13 the only way she can die is siege tomes and ballista. Even before that if you invest stat boosters into her to become tanky with dracoshields and talismans she doesn’t need vantage to survive enemy phases and lets you auto win most chapters single handily. Nerfing her personal skill to 1.2 or 1.3 x skill to crit rate or removing killing machine from her would be a good change, maybe even do both. Thematically this would also make more sense as always critting removes some of the unpredictability from her.
I will say that the gaiden chapters were my favourite chapters in this hack especially chapter 3x, 21x2, 21x3, 21x5, 24x and 25x these were all so fun to play needing to use units that I haven’t leveled and not having access to all the characters made the chapter more challenging and fun to play. 25x being my absolute favourite getting to fight council was the most enjoyable time I had in this hack.
I saw you talk about adding fatigue to this hack and I think that would be a good addition to force you to think about what characters you are fielding and how much combat/staff usage they have each chapter if it works the same way as in fe5. Adding this mechanic to the game makes it so that not one character can solo all chapters and multiple characters need to be trained.
I also think the balance between engage rings and magic rings should be tweaked to give less magic rings and more engage rings or removing some stealable/capturable magic rings.
Bugs:
Paragon overriding blossom skill.
In chapter 23x the dragon vein freezes the game.
The hit staff when used freezes the game tested in multiple chapters at 1 range.
Risu’s animation in the witch class sometimes freezes the game. This happened in many chapters and both when enemy initiates combat and when I initiated combat but only maybe 1 in 50 combats froze the game.
In chapter 21x5 when fighting clone Iofi and reading her dialogue that makes the pillars glitch out, skipping the dialogue fixed it.
