[FE8] HoloEmblem: The Search for Seiso (42 Chapters) [v.1.8.2]

Made it up to Ch18 now.

Ch15 is hell as usual, but it’s a bit easier since I know how it plays. A good part of it came down to Aki camping the bottom ship’s chest before the ship spawning to loot it so Mumei has enough time to kill the boss, loot the remaining chest and then be ready to steal the Archive from the bottom-right ship, and Nene/Choco camping the spawn positions of two Spear Wights on the leftmost ship to delete them from existence, as the first turn on that ship is rough. Aside from the first wave of ships, it seems none of the other ship-borne enemies have spawnblock protection to shift them to another tile if a player unit is there when they are supposed to spawn. Additionally, there is still a Nousagi on the bottom-right ship in wave 3; it’s been there for several versions now.

Ch17’s Kurokami deathquote calls Deadlord AZKi’s portrait for some reason.

Ch17x Legions give very little EXP. Not sure if that’s intended or not.

How many supports can a character have? I see 5 in game but I feel like someone said 7 at one point?

Support limit is one A-support and up to 4 more B-supports, IIRC.

Ch18 Bloom doesn’t have boss music while Gloom does. Also the Nephilim (Irys) class causes miss termination for magic animations to happen much earlier than they should; the defender, if dodging, will dodge right as Eclipse is cast, instead of waiting for most of the animation to play before dodging the blow.

Wind doesn’t deal effective damage to Arch Mogalls.

That’s what I call Fauna Sweep! She was my oshi, so I obviously gave her Blossom. Think I should’ve made her a Master Knight, but that’ll be for next playthrough.

Once again, thank you for making this hack. I had so much fun, even with the many frustrations I felt in some of the map designs. The story had a fun mix of memes and taking itself seriously. The characterization was fun and true to themselves. I loved listening to the music remixes as I played since their music is such an important part of their journey. I cannot wait to see how this evolves!

Entrap is Entrap. I did this to some lategame bosses using the one unit that reliably hits 50 Magic. Really, only like one or two things in the game actually have the “dodge all status staves” flag on, so a lot of them are just cheeseable by Entrapping them into a killzone or kill setup.

I have found a glitch relating to the Thunder Axe weapon.
When I had Marine (who I promoted to a berserker), used the thunder axe at range, the game would always freeze, I assume. I think it might be a problem with the animation since the game would freeze after the attack with the camera focusing on Marine, so I think I game is expecting the axe to return, but since the thunder axe is a magic weapon it has a different animation, so the game gets confused an ends up freezing, at least that is what I think is happening.
But yeah I wanted to communicate that glitch.

I’m trying to play through this blind but something has gone really wrong, I’m only on chapter 10 and there’s 24 deployment slots, I lost Mumei, Fauna, and Baelz in combat but even after accounting for those I’m left with only 17 members which means I somehow missed 4 entire recruits??
Can someone let me know all the recruitable characters up to chapter 10 and when I was supposed to encounter them?

There’s a pdf in the download folder that lists receuitables and items

if you miss chapter 3’s gaiden you won’t be able to recruit 3 units (Polka Watame and Nene). It’s also possible to miss Suisei or Sora if you didn’t visit their respective villages, or Lui/Laplus if you didn’t open the center room in chapter 9

Damn. I gotta say I heavily disagree with the decision to lock a fundamental gameplay mechanic like accessing the convoy behind a gaiden chapter, especially since this game wants you to capture and steal items making inventory space more important than normal.

Also reporting a bug in Ch.10 where capturing an enemy (forgot which one it was but it happened near the central chamber) holding the holo emblem turns it into a 20-use holo emblem

I still made it possible to access convoy in preps, but I can understand the frustration

Summoners can summon (they can’t; tested on many chapters using a promoted Scholar as well as Rushia)


This text should be “If ending turn next to an unit with…”, since other actions like using staff or simply waiting also trigger the skill.


Player star still gives only 3 hit/3 avoid, if player star count is equal to or lower than enemy’s. It’s only when player star count is higher, that excess stars give 5 hit/3 avoid each. Since enemy star counts are so excessive, that case almost never happens.

About Fubuki… During chapter 21x-3 I used her transform command and instead of the usual shirakami/kurokami mode swap, kurokami split off and became her own separate character, duplicating all items in shirakami’s inventory. Is this intended?
