Hello everyone, Eden here, co-director of Project Baldr.

I know it’s been a while since we’ve shared any updates.
The last message from @Enjin in this thread dates back to July 2024. Initially, I didn’t plan to write this post, even though many of you have been patiently waiting for news.

But since @Blademaster recently spoke up, I felt it was time I did as well.

First and foremost: the project is not dead—we’re still working on it.

Usually, project updates are shared through Enjin’s account after a mutual review, but he’s been absent from the community for a few months. I’m writing this post on my own initiative, without consulting him or the rest of the dev team.

As I mentioned, the project is still alive, though progress has been slow over the past few months. We didn’t participate in last year’s FEE3 because we felt we didn’t have enough meaningful content to showcase, and it seemed better to wait than to release a video just for the sake of it.

We also haven’t released any public builds yet. That’s simply because we haven’t been satisfied with the game’s quality—we want more playtesting, and not every core mechanic from FE4 has been implemented correctly just yet.

If and when we do release a public build, it’ll likely cover up to the end of Chapter 5—the end of the first generation—as a demo. Our goal is to offer the best possible experience, both for longtime fans of the original and for those who’ve never played it. We’re just not at that point in development yet.

I apologize if this is disappointing. I know the wait has been long, and I truly appreciate your patience. But please rest assured: the project is still very much alive. It will come out eventually. No matter how long it takes, we have no intention of abandoning it—not after all the time and effort we’ve invested, and certainly not with so many of you still looking forward to it.

In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy this presentation sheet, which offers a bit of insight into the characters, classes, and items you’ll find in our remake. It also includes brand new content that wasn’t in the original game—new characters, classes, and items that we hope will spark your curiosity and speculation.

Thanks again for your continued support, and I wish you all a wonderful day!

Sorry for the rush, we were worried but didn’t want to seem pushy.

well that’s a relief- wait… you guys have a discord?

I am very happy it’s still being worked on. I am patient, so I will enjoy whenever it’s finished. Thank you for the update!

Well that’s bittersweet. I’m shocked it’s only at chapter 5 at this point, but at least it’s nice to hear it’s not dead. I will adjust my expectations for this! Keep doing yall best, thank you for the update.

Not “only at chapter 5” just when the public demo would release

Take your time. I believe a wise man once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

That quote is often attributed to Shigeru Miyamoto, but it apparently wasn’t his. But it’s true; we better be patient and give the necessary time to make it good.

In that case, shouldn’t we stop talking for a while? The project has already been confirmed to be still alive, and apparently we caused a lot of inconvenience to the team, as they hadn’t planned to talk yet.

Game development + life is hard. Take all the time you guys need. Awesome work thus far and I await the full release.

Yeah, but the chapters are long and have several segments.

Y’all better be grateful for the little we’ll get, cause there’s a chance we’d get nothing

It was 10 chapters but each were huge with multiple castles to seize during it

So will the 10 chapters be split into more chapter to fit the gba format better?
