I have some news about Project Baldr that people may find both good and bad. Please note that to our knowledge, no issues or hardships have affected anyone that is involved in the project.
In October of 2024, the lead of this project, Enjin, asked me, should something happen to them, that I take over seeing that Project Baldr will get finished. I will not go into the details about what led Enjin to make that request as they are personal, but I agreed to do so given how we’ve both supported each other in working on our sibling Jugdral projects. This is why I responded in this thread a few weeks ago stating that the project wasn’t dead because I knew I would be taking the reigns if Enjin was no longer able to do so.
Since I made that post, and to my understanding by other members of the team before that post, Enjin has been largely away from the FE community and has not really been responding to messages. From what I can tell, no work has been done on Project Baldr since September 2024 at the earliest and January 2025 at the latest. Enjin did not respond to both DMs and messages directed at them in the discord server specifically about this request they made of me. As such, I am going to proceed with the project as was asked of me to fulfill Enjin’s request.
I am not the lead of this project. That is still Enjin, should Enjin choose to return to the project when they are ready. It is my understanding that planning for Project Baldr is finished up to chapter 7 and that there are certain ASM features still not implemented and ready for the project. As such, my goal for the time being is to finish up Gen 1 and release a patch for it, which I’m hoping will take long enough for Enjin to return. In essence, my role in the project for the time being is to just be the primary workforce in getting what we can complete until Enjin returns. If Enjin should not return, then Eden will continue their work on the project as the primary creative director for the hack. In my taking on such a role, with more people helping out with Project Baldr than FE5AD, I am hoping that this won’t have a major effect on either project, especially since I am not working on any text or creative planning for the hack, just implementing.
If Enjin does finally come back and take on their role as project lead again, I will immediately step aside and go back to focusing primarily on FE5AD unless asked otherwise. But please understand that this is not an easy action for the team to take. I am doing this because I believe enough flags are there for me to fulfill my promise to Enjin and finish the hack. If Enjin comes back immediately after I post this, the whole team would be ecstatic. But for the time being, we are going to move forward as I was asked because we feel that such a time has come to pass and our efforts to confirm as such with Enjin have otherwise fallen short. Let Enjin rest and come back when they are ready. In the meantime, it’s our goal to have a nice surprise waiting for them in the form of a further progressed Project Baldr.
