i like being able to choose my pairs also leads people to experiment with new pairs every new run of the game also Deirdre could be fleshed out more with supports with different guys and girls as i feel she’s one of the more flat characters in early fire emblem its not her fault but the game forcing her to be with Sigurd then forcing her to be with Arvis is dumb but by letting her and the player choose who she wants to be with then robbing her of autonomy then that gets taken against both the player and her will would be more impactful
ethilyn being doomed to stupidly bring her child into the battle field to be kidnapped is the worst thing kaga did so its only fair the other girls have to deal with this makes it more fair for the girl

I get your point but you’d need to completely rewrite the game to accomplish this. At that point your just making a fanfiction version of the game.

What you’re missing here is that Deidre and her being able to pass on the Loptous blood is a lynchpin of the plot.
A Major Loptous heir can only be produced by mating two people with minor blood. And the only two are her and Alvis because their mother broke a rule about stopping at one child. So the Loptyrians are going to force her to reproduce so they can create their Rosemary’s baby to be Loptous’ new vessel. And Sigurd and Deirdre being together is so that Seliph has the Baldr/Naga combo and the connection to Julia.
You’d have to rewrite the whole story to change it and no one’s going to do that to please a single person. Everyone else is fine with it.
Also Quan and Ethlyn are pre-paired like Pent and Louise. They’re already married.

The events surrounding Ethlyn and especially Deidre are very important to how FE4 is written. So much so, that you could potentially end up with no lord for the second generation at all, depending on what you change.
I don’t see any changes to Ethlyn and Deidre happening in this remake.
Maybe in a reimagining that aims to rewrite most if not all of the story.
