Progress and stuff, I s’pose. All of the palettes for those with their own portraits are done… aside from Poppy, but I sorta want to try and play around with a unique animation for her.
Most of the skills for the characters in so far are done, only missing three because the ideas I wrote for those three didn’t end up working, so need to think of new ones for them.
Next up is probably writing more stuff for the ‘personal page’ things for characters missing them aaaand… death quotes for like half of the characters. That’s going to be… uh… fun. I guess Thursday’s doing to be a tad depressing (or whenever), hah.
What else… I might possibly try to do more character portraits, and, with them, the missing palettes for FEE3, and… aside from derpy glitches I find or other little things to poke with a stick that’s basically it. One such derpy glitch is that… for whatever reason, the ‘Wind’ tome gives +2 SPD, and can be used like a speedwing. I have no idea what the heck is telling the wind tome to think it’s a speedwing, so I need to keep digging. Frustrating!

Plus one update? Apparently I really don’t feel like spriting, so no more character portrait updates for now. As with last year stuff ‘might’ be picking up again soon so this might be the last proper update for the rest of the year.
Mostly fixes and random changes, although Chapters 16 and 16x do also exist. I’ll probably just say this is the FEE3 build, but, who knows.

‘Female’ Cavalier now promotes to ‘Male’ Great Knight-- same unisex class deal as the Knight classes.

Velvet’s Ravager classes now have Berserker movement costs, explanation is On The Road 12 in Chapter 6.
Fire and Thunder magic are now effective against Beasts/Horses and Dragons/Wyverns respectively, most only having 2x effectiveness. This includes magic swords like Claybeg.
A bunch of random fixes and changes, more possible support count for one (For if I ever write more supports)
There are now options for Fixed Mode, Casual Mode, and to skip to Chapter 4 upon starting a new save.
Preparation Screen shop stuff costs the same as other shops and also has more items.
Item ordering should be fixed in the convoy and stuff.

Hello! Just a random thing since the next chapter seems to exist now, slow progress, the best type of progress! A few screw-ups I noticed in the chapter from this, but they should all be fixed whenever the next release is.
Boss may be a bit powerful, but there are a few ways I can think of to circumvent it easily enough, so I dunno if I’ll change it unless someone specifically brings it up.
Still no idea where the heck the end of Book 0 is. …well, I mean, I know the ending and all, or a general idea for it, but I have zero idea in terms of chapter count. 30 chapters? 40 chapters? Dunno! Next chapter is another side chapter though. Side chapters are nice because you can beat up bully enemies and do… side stuff.
Decently quick, but that tends to happen with side chapters! They’re not as full of… stuff as a normal chapter, mostly dialogue. A few dumb things to fix that I could notice from doing this. curse you glitches and stuff.
No idea when the next thingymajig would be up. Chapter 20?? Numbers are hard, but if things go at the same pace as they have been that’s like, a week per (normal) chapter, so two weeks. Groovy.
Welp, may as well, but Vesly’s randomiser thing is uh… a thing! Go check his things out, and the other, very likely much better hacks.

Well anyway, that’s chapter 19, this one is especially cool because there are THREE whole parts!.. because my keyboard decided to die at the end of part two and I’m too lazy to edit it together, two thumbs up.
Can I use the excuse that I was rewriting a bit? I dunno, wanted to make things fit a bit better so a few chapter things were re-ordered, though naturally I’ve no idea if what I’ve done will even make sense.
I’m hella invested. Also, you should make a tier list for the rom hacks’ characters after you finish up. Aoi is the utmost precious goober alongside velvet.

SO. I may finally have a bit of an idea of how long Book 0 is finally, blimey.
So… I’ve mentioned before that this Book 0 stuff is essentially an adaptation of a comic series I did, plus the extra plot bits I need to jam into it, and… from the perspective of pure adaptation, I have 98 comics left to do after chapter… 21?
Assuming all of them are ‘On The Road’ stuff, that’s 8 slots of dialogue per chapter (‘Base Conversations’ allow a max of 8 things, after all!), so 1:1 it’s 13 chapters at least… 16 comics are ‘actual plot’, and I might skim the count a bit by including ‘less important’ parts into intros/endings as I’ve been doing or having more than one comic in a single bit, so that’s like 10 more chapters if going by pure adaptation, and also under the assumption I’m using EVERY dialogue bit for ‘On The Road’ stuff.
If going by the plot stuff I need to get through, it may very well just pop back up to 13 chapters left, and only 3 of them are side chapters, 'cause I’ve got the next side chapter written, and 3 more to do. Which… hilariously brings it down to 10 ‘proper’ chapters. Hopefully I can be a bit efficient and make it like 8/9 chapters. Ack.

Chapter 20. …I’m going to say that apparently I wasn’t completely wrong with that ‘two weeks’ thing, neat. I might still be doing the next side chapter first because I can never make up my mind and I never make sense.

Well, aside from that… obligatory somethingsomething chapter! I’m not spoiling it here, but it is a chapter that generally happens. In terms of the playthrough itself though, only two characters left to promote, yey.
Chapter 20x, probably! So like, a week from now… maybe? A few other things I want to do aside from just the chapter itself, like a new class and hopefully more animation stuff?
There was a weird glitch while doing this that importing magic animations made the ‘On The Road’ stuff for this chapter just crash the game, so that was weird.
Anyways, update I s’pose. Three months after the previous exactly it seems. Huh. That wasn’t planned, but it’s definitely a thing of note. If the intro is considered two chapters, that makes 27 playable chapters for Book 0. That’s a lot.

The game hangs after Aoi acts during the first turn of chapter 2 since the game is trying to check Yukon’s class even though he doesn’t exist yet.
Also, some minor nitpicks:
In Difficult mode, Velvet’s clone doesn’t do enough damage to kill in the first scripted battle of the Prologue the target still dies due to cutscene power, though.
Velvet’s clone can die during the first turn of the Prologue causing some dialogue to be skipped.
And the dumbest glitch to exist in anything ever goes to… good job me, you absolute moron
Prologue shenanigans should be fixed-- although the first turn loss is a feature, not a bug! …It’s not completely unintentional, the stuff that happens after is extra, in a way, hehe.

Huh. Cool. That was a lot quicker than usual which is weird with how much dialogue there is. And that makes Chapter 21. Hmmm… what else… well, from here on the story miiight be a bit heavier than it’s been? Maybe? I did put that ‘15+’ thing there for a reason, after all, it’s just sorta weird that it’s taken this long to really get to the proper reason-- previously things were mostly just implied from what I remember. Hmmmm.
I have no idea of when or if there’ll be another demo due to how close it is. Two possibilities I can think of right now, either the end of this particular arc will be the demo point, in which case the ‘final arc’ will probably be something like Tower of Guidance (Like, 3/4 chapters essentially called ‘Finale’), or I’ll be jamming all of that final chapter stuff into a single chapter. Aaaaand there we have the next side chapter. Two more side chapters then it’s all main stuff… probably… unless I want to do more side chapters for some reason. Hmmm… well, the possibility’s there, but eh! Was a pretty fun chapter to do up, hehehe.

What else can I say… hmmmm… new info… uh… well, I’m still not sure if or how I’ll do supports aside from what’s there right now, so if more do happen and I toss them into the ‘On The Road’ things, then I’ll probably maybe have a third set of stuff for this extra, non-adaptation stuff maybe?
‘On The Road’ are what the party does while travelling as you know, and ‘Those Elsewhere’ is mostly what other people you’ve met that aren’t in the party just doing whatever the heck they’re doing-- I mean another thing like those two, maybe like, uh… ‘Our Journeys’ or… whatever for the support things. Even then, that’d only be able to slot into where ever free space is on these, so maybe a few would be more like more conventional supports, or talking in particular chapters or something.
