I trained him late game but I think I trained him too slowly, I didn’t let him get enough EXP and I finally promoted him to Sage in Chapter 21 so I just think I didn’t feed him enough kills
Hey JOlive! SO glad you enjoyed the hack and thanks for your detailed overview of your favorite characters. Good news for you - the sequel is nearly complete and should be out by the end of the summer ![]()
YOOOOOOO WHAT??? I actually didn’t know there would be one so soon
if at least 5 of the characters I mentioned (heavy on shorn) return then I will absolutely flip! That’s crazy man respect to you for grinding so hard on that and I cannot wait to play the sequel!
wait, what? I finished your hack in the start of the year and I had a blast, even commented here, very good project, and Edric is the goat protag (soulslike pro with dual ultra greatswords), so tell me, end of summer is like, in the second semester of this year? (in my country we don’t use seasons to define dates, and here is southern hemisphere, so I guess it’s inverted, because summer here starts in the end of december)
The sequel will be out by the end of August 2025 ![]()
does the project have a dedicated post in the community? with some features and screenshots
Not until it’s done.
Really enjoying the game, im in chapter 6 and so far this is the hackrom that reminds me most to a vanilla fire emblem, also my first lenguage is spanish and the translation is amazing!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I didn’t expect to see it so soon. Omg this is not a drill
Hey Vorgus, Zen here! Just here to support the hack on FEU since it’s what drawn me to make an account in the first place. Looking forward to the sequel. ![]()
Thanks so much for the kind words, Zen ![]()
I’ve written 80% of the supports for the sequel so its release is likely just a few weeks away, now.
When does Erdric promote?
Chapter 12x. It is an unskippable gaiden chapter and he gets his promotion item at the start of turn 2.
Thank you I appreciate it
No way.
In chapter 16 do the reinforcements ever stop?
I don’t think so. But the point of the chapter is to get Sophia to the exit point before you’re overwhelmed by them. The warp staff makes it easy to do. Give it to Catrine and the chapter can be wrapped up way, way before the false paladins arrive.
Man, I really really want to love this hack as it’s VERY good for 90% of it, but the very specific 10% just make me scratch my head and stop playing for a few days at a time out of frustration.
I’m on chapter 21 right now, and this is the second chapter where I have to restart the entire map right at the end due to random unannounced ambush spawns. I cleared out almost all the enemies, got both villages, took care of the wyvern reinforcements - only for Nadya to get murdered by 2 range Generals when I dared to end my turn by trying to snipe one of the Paladins just south of the boss with Shiver. Why? Genuinely why is this a thing??? There are literally reinforcements just before that have Fenyx saying “send in the Wyverns from behind” and then they spawn in on your turn. Those can be somewhat dangerous for squishy staffers but you can play around them without prior knowledge.
This happened on chapter 19 as well with a random squad of fliers joining in when you repair the dam (which again I happened to do as my turn ending action), with ranges overlapping right where your units are likely waiting to cross the river, and was just as frustrating then. Having to restart a fairly challenging map halfway or more through due to no fault of your own (I guess I should’ve checked the events in FEBuilder beforehand?? my bad) is really annoying and makes me not want to continue playing.
Then there’s chapter 18. I didn’t really train Shorn, as I find Myrmidons and Swordmasters usually lackluster and not very interesting to use. I also didn’t train Galen after his return, because I was planning to simply bench him for his prior actions in the story, so he wasn’t promoted. I ended up having to lure the Paladin reinforcements to the little cell where your main squad enters and praying to RNGsus that Galen can somehow hold the chokepoint against two of them at a time while I picked them off with Miley’s PRF. You know what I tried to do first though? Cleaning out the throne room and leaving that way. Yeah. You can use pick on the main gate doors with a promoted Sheila but they don’t actually open. Why not? I felt really clever finding an alternative route to avoid the clusterfuck of the southern corridor + Paladin reinforcements from behind after already having to restart a few times, but alas the game simply didn’t allow it.
Also, chapter 16. A really cool concept for a chapter, ruined by random endless reinforcement death ball spam. It’s to my knowledge the only chapter with endless reinforcements (so far) and I ended up having to rush into the throne room and block the Paladin spawns to get through it. It didn’t help that both of my Pegasi were stuck at level 20 because I missed the earlier Elysian Whip, which I now learned you have to use warp to get. Fair enough, that’s on me for not figuring it out, I did suspect I had missed one earlier on at that point. The only saving grace for me is that it is possible to block those spawns, but honestly I’m not a fan of what feels like the intended solution requiring items you might already have used up (warp in this case).
The story is really good, most of the maps are really good, I like a lot of the characters, the custom classes are sick (shoutout to Morgana’s promotion) but m a n these specific chapters really make me upset and not want to continue playing in that moment. I just don’t understand some of these design decisions, they feel randomly thrown in for “difficulty” when the rest of the game manages to be just fine in that regard without them. The ambush spawns wouldn’t be as bad (but still bad) if half the roster didn’t cause a game over on death, this really feels like two gameplay aspects completely antithetical to each other.
Right now I’m just hoping and praying the game doesn’t decide to force deploy the two units I’m still completely neglecting in another random tiny squad mission, it would genuinely softlock me having to rely on Gareth or Donnal at this point…
After Chapter 18, there are no real force deploy sequences, any more. You can mostly use the squad you want.
Agreed that some of my design decisions were… interesting and not too player friendly. If I give The Dark Amulet another quality of life patch, I would likely adjust those. Ambush spawns are more or less never worth including.
Glad you’re mostly enjoying the game. You’re nearly done, now! Best of luck ![]()
I’m at chapter 21 of I defeat Elyse will I be able to recruit her ? Or should I get around her and leave her
