I really appreciate the response! To be completely honest, I get really nervous discussing these things on public forums. I try to do this as respectfully and as focused on my feelings as I can, but I’ve been absolutely flamed for my feedback on gay rep. So it’s heartwarming to see you so receptive.
I only ever read the best of intentions from you in your writing, and I’m really excited to see what you come up with in the sequel! People are indeed people, connection is indeed connection, and you can indeed write totally captivating and believable queer characters!
Chapter 15. It’s usually considered poor form to have stealables on reinforcements when there are no chests or stealables visible on the map from the start. It’s not a huge deal, but do take note.
Edit. Also on 15. I’m sure you’ve been told it before, but you’re very good at writing FE dialogue. This boss convo felt straight out of an official game, and that takes skill.
Damn this engrossing hack, making me forget to be critical.
The first time I played this hack, I didn’t use Shorn. Chapter…18, I think, the second prison escape chapter, was really hard.
This time I did use Shorn, and it was really easy. Though I still regret using Shorn, because man, he’s not very good.
I’m envisioning a playthrough where I didn’t use any of them. Shorn and Miley with some early-game levels, Shelia, Harlan, and Galen barely touched. It sounds god-damned impossible, and I worry about that possibility every time I rec this hack. And I rec this hack a lot.
Chapter 18 is cool in theory, a bit messy in execution. I’ve never heard anyone getting soft locked by it, though. Miley will always have Kiss of Death (unless it already broke, in which case she’s likely leveled up and pretty strong). Same with Shorn and Kelikaga, Galen and Chivalry. Harlan gets Shadowbane. Base level Harlan with Shadowbane does serious damage. Plus there is a Dark Contract early in the level and Harlan starts at level 10 so base Harlan can promote.
It’s always solvable… but sometimes it’s clunky. There isn’t any chapter quite like it in the sequel.
I took Chivalry lance from Galen before that chapter … he spawn in the wedding naked… and crap … I have to replay Shadow Clones paladins chapter again … … I’have promoted Shorn and Miley … not Galen …
I really appreciate being able to rescue staff Ormer. It feels like something other games or hacks would just not let you do for whatever reason.
That’s a shame. If something’s cool in theory but messy in execution, then that’s a sign to work on that execution, not drop it entirely.
And I didn’t mean literally god-damned impossible. Softlock? Nah.
I gotta be honest, in my first playthrough I just straight up never found any secret shops. Not one. And I checked every suspicious-looked tile I could find; only ones I didn’t try is those side towers in the Tower of Magic revisit after this. Bit of a shame.
Come to think of it, I don’t think I ever found any boots either.
