FE6 Squished

Download (updated so that True Ending doesn’t crash the game)

Apply to a clean Japanese FE6 Rom

All maps have been reduced in size (except for 12x, 14x, and 20xS)

  • They may look a bit worse, but I tried to use the tile set as best I could.

All classes have had their movement reduced

  • Armors have 3 movement, promo gives +1
  • Footlocks + Merlinus have 4 movement, Roy gets +1 on promo
  • Thieves and mounted units have 5 movement, promo gives +1
  • Movement cost was altered to generally allow the same type of movement, such as
    Fighters being able to cross a mountain and forest in one move.

All siege weapons are now 3~8 range (3~12 for Iron Ballista)

Staff range is now (Mag/3)+2, instead of (Mag/2)+5

Other notable changes

  • Chapter 6 has an odd reinforcement trigger that requires all player units past a specific point, but with the map smaller, this trigger gets lowered, so now if player phase ends without a unit pressing wait underneath that point, the enemies will spawn. This was the easiest work around I could make.

Merlinus the Transporter has just 4 movement. Was this a typo or is he supposed to suck?

I mean, he naturally has less movement than other cavalry normally, so… yeah

Understandable, just wanted to check.

Had a ton of fun with this, squishing the maps down is a pretty fun concept. Epilogue immediatly freezes, but game is playable front to back.
