Updated. Fixed an error in the preparation shop’s item list. This update also includes text revisions from the proofreading of Chapter 5 (by Plague).
I can’t do it now. All sprite types drawn on the map must be loaded into memory, which makes increasing the number of types difficult. This is the SNES’s functional limit. This is why there are many icons shared not only with Bishop.
I know there’s a technique called the SA-1 hack that boosts the SNES’s performance by about three times, but even after reading the documentation, I can’t figure out how to implement it at all, so I’m not making any progress for this.
Thank you for your interest. I always welcome suggestions for improving the translation. I think that the [Complete] tag is assigned to projects where modding has been finished up to the game’s ending, this does not mean that there is no room for refinement.
The most recently uploaded data is a bit outdated because it’s from November 2025, but the overall content hasn’t changed much, so you can still use it for reference.
this does feel like something that should be changed. little point in a unique outcome like this if its so incredibly niche.
maybe if one of the gladiators holds a con-increasing item. Evylin can capture them, give the con to nanna. that way its non-trivial while not being purely chance based
is it more than 10% in this hack? and, no save states shouldn’t be considered for making it “easier“. especially since the eventing on this map is tight as it is
It took me several tries to both get Nanna’s con to level up and not get her killed immediately after. I would just give her the extra con anyway and not mention it so it remains and unusual secret
I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to play thracia after completing Bells of Byelen. I wanted to try this patch, but I get a black screen upon patching. I looked through the thread and still can’t seem to find out why. I patched the ips directly to a clean Japanese Rom, and it said completed, but there’s just a black screen when I try to play. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
Is it a headered japanese rom? (it needs to be headered)
might be worth redownloading the rom, and getting a different clean japanese rom. I find with some of the romhacks the files can easily corrupt so that patching fails.
I tried multiple different clean japanese roms, and the regular rom has no problem on my emulator, but everytime I patch it, it has the same affect. But I decided to just play original Thracia instead. Thanks a lot for the response!
